Gave this a couple of tries but it's not clicking. I think if she went in the Venice Bitch route I'd like it a lot more. It's not bad by any means and a step up from her last two albums but some of the songs are a bit dull :katie: Yeah idk, I'm just not as excited by Lana these days

Stanned this a bit at the start of the year  The re-release was unnecessary, I don't use any of the new songs but the standard is mostly solid with back to back bops. Not the most revolutionary album ever but it's worth a listen :gaycat4:

Ngl, I mostly use Hopscotch for the Loona sample/beat :fan: a few songs are basically just generic trap rehashes so I wish it had been a lil more experimental like Nightride since it's only a mixtape but oh well :-* a solid effort, much better than Joyride fffff

This could have been higher if Never hadn't been so annoying and repetitive :keir: another album that lacks standouts but it's consistent and only dips around the middle section with Navy Blue and Never. I should probs get around to listening to their debut

I was a tad bit underwhelmed by Gimme considering it was an Altar reject but turns out it was the best on the album :rip: it's not as good as her other albums and it came at a time when I was getting into k-pop so I didn't have much time for her and I listened to it in full maybe 5 times? :toofunny3: I mean overall, The Altar has 600 plays whereas this hasn't even crossed 100 nnnn - but the second half is quite good

Another album that I hadn't listened to much. Not exactly worth the three year wait and Cry Baby outsold but this is still cute. High School Sweethearts could have been a career highlight if the whole song sounded like the intro

I suppose my main problem with this album is the fact that it starts off so strong and gets weaker towards the end. The first three songs are especially good and tommy could have easily been a highlight if she hadn't went out of her way to ruin it :rip: she could have kept the title track, the rest is solid tho :heart2:

Wasn't a fan of the rollout, by the time the full album came out I was already over most of the songs. Unlike the last few albums, this had some amazing standouts and a few fillers that could have been deleted. Overall it's better than Era 1 but not as good as TOTL

Pleasantly surprised by this  Door is still my fave but the rest of the album is really good too. The second half, specifically from Insomnia onwards slaps :jonny4: New Normal, Pang and I Give Up are a lil annoying and could have deff been better tho, also SHYHMF is kinda generic :-*

I agree with all of the worst except SYL.

I haven’t really listened to that many albums lately, but I’d be interested in Lana, Banks and maybe Muna.

High School Sweethearts is definitely the best from K-12 :alexz:

nawt NFR lower than Tinashe :skull: both are pretty nice records :clap3:

Pang is such a discover for me this year :jonny5:

Japanese House was cute! I've just never fully stanned Lana but quite like NFR, def get what you mean about kinda wishing she went down the VB path tho.

I'm gonna ignore the Never shade, and say that picking Pink Light as a highlight is CORRECT.

Banks & Melanie... are way too high. Yas Caroline, yas Polachek.

Their best full length album by far :jonny2: The singles are such bops. Even Happy Happy grew on me, it's such a cute song :chick1: Breakthrough was SUCH a serve, one of their best songs ever :jonny6: What You Waiting For is up there as one of their best b-sides too :smitten: The first half of the album is really strong, the second half was a biT of a letdown though :katie: The Reason Why is nice but the three before it are... questionable. It's only a Japanese release so I'm not too bothered, but I really hope they release a full length album next year cause I know it's gonna be amazing after the songs they've been putting out this year. They stepped it up and delivered some of the best songs of 2019 :jonny2:

Their discography is so good so far, if they keep it up, they might become one of my faves :jonny2: Roller Coaster is absolutely their best song and New Rules lowkey ended miss Dua :gaycat4: Run Away was suuuuch a good comeback, a total switch from their regular sound, I hope they keep experimenting since it's not looking like they're gonna be scoring hits anytime soon  Poppin' Star -> CWJLTMA could have been better but oh well. The whole album is really solid, as was the mini (Blue Orangeade :smitten:), but this doesn't have a song as boring as Nap of a Star x

A major step up from her previous effort. I'll take a generic album like tu,n over an ~experimental~ (which lbr, is what pop stans say when an album is messy or just plain BAD) album like Sweetener any day :rip: the title track was such a grower, for some reason I hated it at first :skull: bad idea and ghostin are amongst her best album track. But ofc it wouldn't be an Ariana album without some filler. make up is awful, fake smile is boring and bloodline is a Side to Side rehash :doc:

I expected this to awful after the singles, which mostly grew on me but they weren't on Cool Girl/Disco ****' level. Glad He's Gone deserved to smash, especially for that video but it's such a cute summery song. Jaqcues is still a generic mess, should have never made the album and it sounds out of place. Equally Lost is quite **** too, Doja's verse is so annoying  I needed more Are U Gonna Tell Her's but I'm cool with what we got, it's not like she was gonna release a third back to back 10/10 album (even my main fave Halsey can't do it x). Mistaken is the closest we'll get to this album's Hey You Got Drugs :weeps: the last 4 songs really went off, it's just the middle section that drags it down. Overall it's still a great album, just not quite as amazing as her previous 2.

Only listened to this album in the last month but wow, I was missing out :jonny2: Took maybe three listens to fully hit me but when it did, whew. Such a cohesive album. Her voice alone carries songs like Tonight and Endgame. Summer is such a cute bop, reminds me of MAH by U.S. Girls which was my fave from that album. What It Is is lowkey a ripoff of All Love To Me by Say Lou Lou tho :fan: Too Easy and New Love Cassette are my least favorite but they're still decent, they don't drag the album down or anything. I should check out her other album but the cover really bothers me x

Obviously a stunning album that deserved an AOTY nom considering its 91 meacritic score  ngl tho, my faves are the singles and I can't say I was underwhelmed by the album, but the album tracks weren't as amazing, especially with 2 songs being useless interludes and Something to Believe being meh. Still an incredible work of art but I think replacing either StB or NtT would have guaranteed its spot in the top 3 :-*

The fact that she tacked the old songs onto the album kinda killed its replay value for me and the interludes after every song are tiring but the full songs all slap, not a single filler :jonny5: the interludes on their own are really good too, I just wish there weren't as many. Not to be rude but if Luke hadn't been trash and this were the music Kesha would be making, instead of that Raising Hell crap, then maybe I would still be a stan  yeah nothing else to say other than she brought it this year, and this is by far her best project. Can't wait to see her in February and if she doesn't perform anything from this album then I'm done with her x

Ugh the wait was worth it in the end :jonny6: I just hope we don't have to wait another 5 years for another album :rip: still not sure if this topped LP1 and M3LL155X for me but wow, I pretty much like every song in her discography (except Ache x). cellophane was disappointing as a lead single, I always thought it sounded more like a closer, thankfully I like it much more in the context of the album. Y'all did too much on holy terrain when it was released, it's not her best but it's a bop nonetheless. I'm glad everyone switched on home with you, it's one of her best songs ever :smitten: everything about it is so... :chick2: fallen alien is such a banger and the production on mirrored heart is so pretty :weeps: I'm still not feeling sad day, the repetitive 'make a make a make a wish on my love' is annoying and grating

Heard of Billie back in 2017 when I frequented the YTT section and someone had Bellyache on their chart (this was before she blew up x), so I checked it out and liked it but didn't keep up with her. I may have jumped on the hate bandwagon at the start of the year cause Twitter convinced me she was tryhard and ~edgy~ but I switched when bury a friend was released :jonny5: then I got into when the party's over right before the album came out and it was over for me. The album held up SO well, hasn't aged one bit and many of the songs grew on me. Even xanny, which is my least favorite (excluding goodbye cause that isn't a song), is still very nice in the context of the album. bad guy is obvi a bop but lowkey overrated and not one of her best  the second half REALLY goes off, I mean that section from bury a friend -> i love you is back to back 10/10s :smitten: her ballads are truly something else, just shows that emoting is more important than high notes and range, at least for me  I NEED more songs like listen before i go and i love you on the next album :weeps:

FavOriTes: Butterfly, Satellite, Colors, Hi High, Perfect Love

I can't put into words how amazing this album is, the replay value is insane :jonny5: technically this is listed as two minis (EPs) but [X X] was a re-release of [+ +] and the physical version of [X X] has the 10 songs on it so I'm counting it for this  I've listened to each mini at least 50 times already and I'm still listening it regularly. Not a single bad song. Even Heat which has kind of a noisy drop still works and while it's my least favorite, it still absolutely slaps, especially when they sing over the drop at the end ksdjksjdsdjs :smitten: favOriTe was a huge grower and even though it's a bit messy, it's a big bop :heart2: Hi High was the perfect debut, it's like love4eva on steroids, and Stylish... let's just say Hide and Seek walked so Stylish could run. Colors is ofc their best b-side ever and literally every song on the first half is perfect except Curiosity with it's somewhat messy chorus, but we still love ha :keir: Satellite and Colors' chorus is pop perfection. I go I go I go I just wanna feeling :weeps: and then Where You At ugh :chick3: if there's no comeback in Q1 I'm gonna kermit x

So yeah, get into it if you haven't heard it (at least listen to the 5 songs from [X X], it's around 20m) and Stan LOOΠΔ x
