YAAAS YAAAAAS! Roses is the only good song on that chaos, should’ve been a 7 inch single with a Chainsmokers remix instead of a whole ****ing album. Stan virile, fix pic, crossing :jonny:

I agree a lot with your Billie pick and description.

Aldous is a kiwi?  Talent!

I like some of her louder stuff, but her voice and lyrics definitely work better with stripped production rather than the booming bass of bad guy, bury a friend etc.

Roses definitely a highlight on What Chaos Is Imaginary, the Slowdivity of it all... but Where You Sink, now that's a SOTY.

Most of the other girls made points too

I would agree if I could remember what any songs on that album even sound like

HMs: 2099, Summer, California  The Archer not making it :noparty: No Drug Like Me and Door though??? Now THAT should be a crime :biblio: || Main list: Sunday, i love you & SHYHMF :jonny5: Now those are songs that people will be singing at weddings, funerals, graduations... we love!

I probably could've put NDLM on the songs list but it was just one of the ones I kicked off cos I haven't listened much since May...

SHYHMF will indeed be sung at my funeral as my coffin is lowered into the ground :heart2:

Quirky lil song from a fellow Welshie

Yes he's a talentless hack who peaked in 2014 but he still manages to create some good songs (rest of the album was garbage tho)

I SEE MYSELF IN YOU AND THAT'S WHY I ****ING HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok like aside from Mac Demarco and maybe Cherry Glazzer PERFECTION :omg: On The Wall noise pop masterpiece glad it got some representation. The Hunger but wow what an anthem.

The Hunger, not my fave of the songs/singles but I do really like it. Home to You, on the other hand, def one of my favorites from that album.

Let me check out Cherry Glasses :eli:

Neither did I until I read the album credits :skull:

What was your fave from Lost Girls? For me it was between The Hunger, Desert Man and Peach Sky

Lost Girls was a good album but it definitely lacks something, though I'm not sure what that is. I didn't find myself returning to it much after release week.

HCTC is below mediocre, would quite honestly rank it one of the worst of the year, mainly because he went from releasing amazing records like 2 and Salad Days to... that

Oncle Jazz was way too long of an album but it had a couple highlights, including this stellar track :jonny:

You like flowers, I have flowers

You like milk, I have cows

Borderline was on this list until last week until I realised this was a far better song  sounds like a cute mix of Innerspeaker/Currents - hoping The Slow Rush is a lot more this than It Might be Time/Patience...

My first listen of this whilst walking home from work in early January is still one of my favourite musical memories of 2019. I almost had to stop in my tracks when I realised the absolute growth Lana has shown since Born to Die. This song manages to be both devastating and hopeful.

oop, thanks for reminding to listen to that Tame Impala song :-*

I'm not really huge on "hope is a dangerous thing" but I can respect how Lana summarizes her career path, her life etc in the song. It's kinda a perfect way to end the album and the decade for Lana if you think about it

I low-key hated Hope when it was released, but it grows so much with NFR release :jonny4: she just can't do something wrong

hiadtfawlmth-bihi didn't manage to grab me but the single art is truly unforgettable :heart2:

men i trust talent. I listened once to black belt eagle scout but can't remember much off it,  :jonny: I'm so glad I switched on hope is a dangerous thing whew

Still haven't listened to Tame's newest song lol. I actually liked Ain't Got Time! Or whatever it's called lol.

Need more listens of "hope is a stupid feeling for this little house on the prairie to have on a summer day, but we all have that thing" before it'll really stick with me I think. Good Alex pick!

Men I Trust... what a funny name for a band. Lemme check them out and the lyrical talent of this flower milk song.

Didn't like hope it a dangerous thing at first but it's quite cute in the context of the album :flower: not sure why it was a single tho :rip:

The Tame Impala song was decent but their singles this era aren't clicking with me  hopefully I'll like them more when the album is out

Posted

The better Hope won :clap3:

Maybe a spill on Tame, but I like them equally and I'm just glad he is on track to release yet another great record :clap3:

Ugh totally :jonny6:  NFR couldn't and shouldn't have ended any other way

It was kinda automatic for me, but I think a lot of people came round to it once they heard it in the context of the album :'(

The BBES album was a good yet simple indie rock album - I hope she brings something different to her next album

I think she was just so proud of it she didn't want to wait another 8 months to release it :'( cutie

Yeah they're definitely serving a downwards trend in quality since Lonerism but I'm silently hopeful for TSR
