MusicLoverDude Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 Will be doing Bubbling under on the NEXT page
MusicLoverDude Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 MLD's Best of 2019 Bubbling Under: Before we get to the list proper, we have 25 songs, just like on Billboard, that just came close to making the Top 100. Commentary, if any, will be in parenthesis. 125. P!nk - Walk Me Home (her weakest lead single to date, but still listenable on occasion) 124. Maren Morris - The Bone (grew on me more than I thought it would) 123. Carrie Underwood - Southbound (it's ok at best. The fact that it even made it to bubbling under is good enough) 122. Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey - Don't Call Me Angel 121. Maren Morris - GIRL 120. Julia Michaels f. Selena Gomez - Anxiety 119. City Girls - Act Up (the offbeat rapping prevented this from charting further) 118. Herve Pagez & Diplo f. Charli XCX - Spicy 117. Shawn Mendes - If I Can't Have You (I can't ignore the fact that this is a There's Nothing Holdin Me Back rehash but not as good) 116. Austin Mahone - Anxious 115. Lauv - Sims 114. Kane Brown - Like a Rodeo 113. Charlie Puth - I Warned Myself (his only listenable song this year) 112. Bazzi - Paradise (I've warmed up to him a little, but not enough for a main list entry. He's hot though) 111. Ava Max - Torn (her only decent song this year, but the list of drags I can come up for this is hilarious. The fact that the song sampled was already sampled by Madonna. The fact that this shares a song title with an ICONIC one hit wonder, which she won't be. The fact that the lyrics sound like other artist's song titles, such as Rock My body reminding me of Rock your body, or Should I Go by Brandy in the chorus, lol). 110. Cher Lloyd - M.I.A. (subpar, but not as bad as other songs she has tried releasing in recent years) 109. Ariana Grande, Normani & Nicki Minaj - Bad To You 108. Lauv & Anne-Marie - **** i'm lonely 107. Billie Eilish - All the Good Girls Go To Hell (Billie will have other entries on the list, don't worry) 106. Ariana Grande - in my head (Since it got a video, I'm including it in the list. Decent song from tu, n) 105. Liam Payne f. A Boogie With Da Hoodie - Stack It Up (an ok bop but he has made better) 104. Billie Eilish - bury a friend 103. Ed Sheeran f. Khalid - Beautiful People 102. Four of Diamonds - Walk Away (briefly looked up X Factor 2016 and liked these girls along with Saara Alto. This was the only song they released this year that I liked though) 101. Sigrid - Don't Feel Like Crying
TheWayWeWere Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 WMH is cute, I appreciate it more after that awful album came out Anxiety **** I'm Lonely issa bop Sigrid's single choices this era looks messy
K$Ellie Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Act Up could have been a bop but it falls apart after the first 30 seconds bury a friend deserved to make the list All The Good Girls Go To Hell and Don't Feel Like Crying I kinda like Spicy for just how awful it is kshdjksjdks
JGibson Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 9/25 Walk Me Home + The Bones + Girl + Southbound + Beautiful People + bury a friend + all the good girls go to hell
bestfiction Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 damn ma, Ava is really getting on your nerves you did make several points though Senorita deserves lashings too, even Miss Charli couldn't save it P!nk music has took such a nosedive lately overall, a nice bubbling under not the best sings but they are alright
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 6, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 6, 2019 act up is a bop very experimental
potent Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Not Bury a Friend only in Bubbling Under when it's Billie's best (but also I didn't expect it to chart here at all so I guess that's good lol) Dont Feel Like Crying, Girl, and Walk Me Home are good choices. I really don't care for Beautiful People tbh
Remmy Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Worst Songs: Pushing 20 is the weakest on Act II but I wouldn't say it deserves a spot on this list! Sally Walker ddd, that one had to grow on me a bit. Oh HELLLL no at Talk being here Living Proof, Sweet But Pyscho, Senorita, So Am I yesss I don't hate Memories & Hate Me but they're both weak so hey, I won't complain. And the rest I don't know so that's great Bubbling Under: P!nk, Billie (atgggth), Ariana (imh) and Sigrid could've been a bit higher. bury a friend is significantly too low! Yeah the Shawn & Cher songs are whatever, and all of Ari's contributions on the Charlie's Angels soundtrack are generally weak.
MusicLoverDude Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 next update will be tomorrow. I'm having issues with Youtube.

MusicLoverDude Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 MLD's Best of 2019 100 - 91 *Due to technical issues with Youtube, I won't be able to provide Youtube clips this year with the entries* 100. Austin Mahone - Why Don't We Austin is shaping up to be a pop artist comfortable in his own skin. I'm not sure if it is because he's not in the spotlight, but this song has a good groove, the production complements his vocals, he is thankful for his Japanese base plus his LGBT+ base, he served sexiness in the video, and the song is overall not too bad. It's up his lane. Maybe one day we will get some mainstream success in the US. He is 23 afterall. 99. Lauren Jauregui - More Than That I was pretty happy with Lauren's collaborations with Steve Aoki and Halsey back in 2017. I was excited for her new solo music as well. This song...well...it's not bad but it's not extraordinary. The song's production reminds me a little of break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored but with more of a trap inspired beat. The chorus is a bit anticlimactic but at least her vocals are good and she's in control of this situation according to the lyrics. 98. Why Don't We - Unbelievable Let's be real. ATRL only knows this song exists because of the nude lyric video, which ended up being more interesting than the actual video (these clowns thinking we'd care about them walking around in a desert fully clothed after releasing THAT lyric video. Should've just kept the sex going). Anyways, this song is ok at best. Why Don't We lacks a really good catchy song. 8 Letters remains their only song of theirs I actually love. 97. Saweetie - My Type A lot of female rap came out this year that I liked. This song being one of them. Its very hard to get the my type chant out of your head and the beat is fire. 96. The Chainsmokers f. 5 Seconds of Summer - Who Do You Love This is a collaboration that I was very excited for before it came out. While I do like this song, the song basically is generic as hell and it's very forgettable compared to other collabs with The Chainsmokers. 95. BANKS - Gimme I actually discovered this through Joyride (a gaming app I won money on until they ceased their live shows on October 28, 2019) back in June. But I slept on it all year. I can kind of see why though since this is very autotune crazy, but the song is very addicting once you get used to it. 94. Tove Lo f. Kylie Minogue - Really Don't Like U Probably the most unexpected collab ever, but it kind of works. 93. Charli XCX f. Lizzo - Blame It On Your Love This song is ok at best. It's a cute bop, and Lizzo steals the show on this. Charli could have done better with this though. 92. Avril Lavigne f. Nicki Minaj - Dumb Blonde A trashy bop that I was into for a bit, but it's hard to ignore that Avril sounds like Ashley Tisdale at times (particularly from her song Not Like That off Headstrong). Nevertheless, kind of wish this got a video. 91. Mabel - Don't Call Me Up I remember liking this when I first listened to it on an iTunes UK game @thecptz hosted. The song however has gotten old for me pretty quickly and it's hard to not compared this to Dua Lipa's New Rules, which I like a lot more. Also, it turns out this was the SECOND song of hers I heard. Her other a song, A Fine Line, would play at Six Flags when I worked there back in 2018. So what I can say is that this song is WAY better than it.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Gimme is flawless DCMU is actually a bop RDLU and BIOYL are my jams nnnn not Dumb Blonde I mean, Hello Kitty feels like masterpiece after this one

ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 9, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 9, 2019 Gimme and DCMU
Remmy Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Dumb Blonde making it, interesting... but Not Like That sweetie I'm so sorry Really don't like u + Blame It On Your Love are cute. Who Do You Love Only Chainsmokers track I've cared for this year... apparently they're gonna keep releasing plenty every year and I'll only end up enjoying a single song.
potent Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 I like DCMU and Blame It on Your Love, although I agree with your comments on them (New Rules is still annoying to me though ) Gimme is cute, WDYL is okay.
Ewan Chaos Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Gimme and Really Don't Like U being right next to each other... that's talentry luv!
