JO1s Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Top 150 songs won't be coming till after december 21st/22nd, need to give CL her time to shine.
JO1s Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 Top albums #30 777:Triple Seven - AAA(2012) A decent portion of this album hasn't aged well but I still bopped to this a lot upon release also it has still love you which gets it a lot of points #29 Antianti Generation- Radwimps (2018) There's quite a few good tracks on this album it's just weighed down by a few unispired ballads. #28 2NE1- To Anyone (2010) This album was my introduction to K-pop, so it will still hold a place in my heart. Though most of the tracks haven't aged the best. #27 Trickster - Sky-Hi(2014) Sky-Hi's debut effort, most of the production is excellence especially the more jazzy tracks. The only weakness this album has is there's not many stand out tracks. #26 Voodoo - Vixx(2013) A lot of the tracks here are still K-pop excellence, but some haven't aged as well as others. Vixx's weakest full album.
JO1s Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) #25 Born This Way - Lay gaga (2011) Some tracks have aged like fine wine and some like avacado. Cute album over all none the less #24 Hatsukoi - Utada Hikaru (2018) A great album overall a few weak ballads, but overall good. Not too many tracks have stuck with me though #23 Pop Virus - Gen Hoshino (2018) The pop tracks on this are indie pop excellence, but most of the ballads leve something to be desired. #22 Nissy- Hocus Pocus (2016) A near perfect album from start to finish, not quite the level of hocus pocus 2 though. #21 WWFAWDG? - Billie Elish(2019) I wasn't to keen when I first heard this but re-listening to this recently something clicked an overall really good album with only a few weak tracks. JO1s Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 Next 5 albums will be posted in 6-12 hours
JO1s Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 #20 Olive - Sky-Hi (2017) A near perfect album that mixes elements of Jazz, Rock and Rap together. There's a few weak tracks but overall a very solid album. #19 Nier: Automta OST (2017) An absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack their's a few tracks that don't stand out or are just weird to listen as music, but otherwise a ****ing masterpiece. #18 Gold Symphony - AAA (2014) A lot of excellent tracks and some of the best ballads out of any album on the list, the only thing holding this album back is some of the overproduced electronic insturmentals that haven't aged amazingly. #17 Chained up - Vixx (2015) An excellent album full of dark pop bops, it's only weakness being a weaker ballad and a track from their Japanese album. #16 Pure Heroine - Lorde (2013) Truly an amazing album, the fact that she wrote this while at 16 makes it all the more impressive. There's a track or two that I don't use from time to time but overall amazing.
JO1s Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 Next 5 albums coming tomorrow, album countdown will finish this weekend.
K$Ellie Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Not Vixx's 'worst' album making the top 30 of the decade... I'll have to check out Chained Up soon Pure Heroine was cute I mostly use Ribs, Tennis Court and Team tho When We All Fall Asleep was quite a serve Born This Way is iconic she hasn't released anything worthwhile since
Red Light Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Voodoo Doll is one of the only boy group songs I own! But I remember when Ravi came in with the "SHOULD UH GO SHOULD UH STAY NOBODEH KNOWS" it scared the absolute **** out of me the first time I listened!

JO1s Posted December 13, 2019 Author Posted December 13, 2019 #15 Sakanaction - Sakanaction A near perfect J-indie rock album their lowest placing album this decade on this list though #14 Hocus Pocus 2 - Nissy (2017) Nissy's Best album some songs aren't perfect but there's no real filler #13 Batsu to maru to tsumi to - Radwimps (2013) Their best non OST album, a nice mix of well produced rock ballads and expirmental rock tracks. #12 Way of Glory - AAA (2017) Their last album as 7, Excellent pop tracks and ballads from beginning to end. #11 2016 Conception Ker - Vixx Never really considered this an album as a whole till recently but this album perfectly encompasses their 2016 works in one and it doesn't sound all over the place.
JO1s Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 #10 Doucmentaly - Sakanaction (2011) An album that has honestly shaped a lot of my music taste as an adult. A decade defining electro rock album that still sounds fresh today. A lot of newer rock artists in the west are still trying to catch up to the sound of this album. A Beautiful masterpiece.
JO1s Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 #9 Crush - 2NE1(2014) The best Girl group album this decade by far, it has amazing bops like Crush and MTBD, melancholy pop notes from Gotta Be You and Happy, and some of the best K-pop ballad and r&b songs in Good to you, If I were you and Baby I miss You.
JO1s Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 #8 Eight Wonder - AAA (2013) The album the reignited my interest in J-pop fully. So many classic on this album it's amzing. The first 3 tracks are all EDM bops that don't sound tired today. Love in the air is a cute breezy summer song probably one of their better ones following into the 2 stongrest tracks in the album 恋音と雨空 and Miss You. All of the unit tracks on this album are excellent too.
JO1s Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 #7 Fantome - Utada Hikaru (2016) This album was Utada's comeback album after a 7 year hiatus and she showed growth as an artist she does music that is apporpriate for her age while still keeping it interesting. ATRLs pop girl favs should take several notes.
JO1s Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 (edited) #6 Sympa - King Gnu (2019) Japans break out act of 2019 and for good reason this is the 2nd best rock record of the decade. The instrumentation and the vocals are perfect in every track, the interlude tracks are paced well throughout the album too. A masterpiece. Edited December 17, 2019 by Hongbin
JO1s Posted December 18, 2019 Author Posted December 18, 2019 Honorable mentions Feel Special - Twice (2019) A Solid album but something I haven't listened to too much honestly. It'd probably rank on my list if released earlier. @FBF A Star is Born - Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (2018) This album has some very strong highs, but there's too much filler in it as an album for it to make it into my album list. The whole Final Fantasy XIV OST Over 400 songs of bliss but it's hard for me to choose an expansions ost above the rest and put it into the ranking. In the Name of Love - CL (2019) Didn't make it due to it's release date unfortunately. Her musical growth is amazing though. Persona 5 OST A strong OST but a lot of filler is in here too.
JO1s Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 #5 834.194 - Sakanaction (2019) Sakanactions return after 6 years since self titled. They showed growth while keeping their timeless sound. Truly an album for the history books.
JO1s Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 #4 Melodrama - (2017) The top female and English language album of the decade for me. Every song still sounds fresh every time I come back to this album, some of the best lyrics of the decade. This album will be remembered for decades to come.
JO1s Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 Top3 albums should be within a little bit.
JO1s Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 #3 Bootleg - Kenshi Yonezu (2017) An album filled with 10/10 songs. From Loser to Peace Sign to Alice all the way to Haiiroto. It's no wonder he's Japans to musician and songwriter at the moment. I can't even begin to imagine how big and amazing his next album is going to be.
