Lazuli Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 young enough DRAG the dedicated haters, it is a great album regardless magdalene truly a masterpiece
TheWayWeWere Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 amazing top 10 Dedicated is not close to Emotion, but still she proves so many bops When I Get Home is masterpiece Solange is such a talent FKA twigs making top 3
Sbbmsve Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Sorry for being late but **** what a great list, so similar to mine No Home Record and Plastic Anniversary are great picks, I also have them on my list. Slayyyter and Charli made pop perfections, so many catchy bops. Quote This album is amazing and I won't hear any hate for it Let me not comment As for the top 10, 1000 gecs **** YES. I stan the **** out of that album, every song is a classic. When I Get Home and Magdalene are masterpieces as well. But I don't think Anger Mgmt deserves that spot, Nasty was definitely better. Mazy Fly is an interesting choice for AOTY but it's a great art pop album so not complaining.
K$Ellie Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Magdalene in the top 3, we love to see it fallen alien being one of your standouts Haven't heard the Rico album but I like Countin' Up and Smack a Bitch a lot x Dedicated was cute, I'm glad it wasn't Emotion 3.0 but I wasn't slayed
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 19, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 19, 2019 no home record, slayyyter, charli, madame X nod and smile... keepsake young enough , dedicated being so high oh wow Tamaryn was cute but didn't listen that much When i get Home excellent. your standards Magdalene Anger Management shook at mazy fly being your no. 1. loved the album but there were a few duds
potent Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 I actually haven't listened to Magdalene, but maybe I should, I liked all the singles from it. Keepsake I liked Madame X overall despite some messy songs, definitely overhated imo
bestfiction Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 wow, serve with your taste Madame X, Magdalene, slayyyter... what else could I expect from a fellow Kero Kero Bonito stan (as I recall) gonna check out your AOTY!
Pink Matter Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 Hm, maybe I need to listen to Solange's album again. My first listen didn't do too much for me Yes twigs What a delightful album. I really did not like Rico Nasty's debut but this EP/mixtape/whatever blew that out of the water Big Titties, Relative, and Sell Out are my ****. If she gives me an album where she's rapping like this and not yelling, I'm hooked!
World Eater Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 wish I started paying attention to No Homo Record earlier, I've just got obsessed with it Same thing applies to Young Enough Slayyyter, Charli, Igor, Keepsake, Dedicated, WIGH, Magdalene and Mazy Fly all deserved Haven't listened to miss Spellling in a while though, let me do that in a moment
Green Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I liked Madame X. Crave, Dark Ballet, I Rise, God Control, Killers who are partying, Crazy are some of my favorite tracks of the album. Medellin was also a bop
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 22, 2019 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 22, 2019 I keep making small edits to my songs list, ENOUGH. I'm just gonna put it out before I overthink. HMs incoming.
bluth Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 dedicated reminds me a lot of dirty computer in that it’s better than what i remember it to be whenever i return to it, but equally in its absence i never have much of a desire to go back
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 22, 2019 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 22, 2019 SONGS. Honorable mentions Little Boots - "Secret" Genre: House, Dance-Pop Thoughts: Love this bop, her EP this year was a large improvement from her last one. Mustard & Migos - "Pure Water" Genre: Hip-Hop Thoughts: Straightfoward fun bop. Meghan Trainor - "Genetics" Genre: Dance-Pop Thoughts: Love Meghan's tacky mom-pop schtick. Chromatics - "Time Rider" Genre: Dream Pop Thoughts: Nice ethereal song that has good replay value. Maluma ft. Madonna - "Soltera" Genre: Latin Pop Thoughts: I'm biased, what can I say? Kelly Lee Owens - "Let it Go" Genre: Tech House Thoughts: She gave us a nice a/b side this year, I chose the a side. Momoiro Clover Z - "The Diamond Four" Genre: J-Pop Thoughts: Nice franken-song style of Jpop we have here. Erika de Casier - "Do My Thing" Genre: R&B Thoughts: I love her lazy delivery it works for her. Yukika - "Neon" Genre: City Pop, K-pop Thoughts: LOVE City-Pop style Kpop, it's no Lady though. Missy Elliott - "Throw it Back" Genre: Hip-Hop Thoughts: Everyone thought her new ep was a dumpster fire but this one was good. Ashley O - "On a Roll" Genre: Dance-Pop Thoughts: Oh god this was THE song for like a month, I do enjoy it a lot and the episode of BM was ACTUALLY GOOD THANK YOU. JPEGMAFIA - "Beta Male Strategies" Genre: Experimental Hip-Hop Thoughts: Maybe the most hardest hitting song on his album (it wasn't hard hitting in general). Instrumental is crazy. Tennis - "Runner" Genre: Dream Pop Thoughts: Tennis have one sound, but they are consistently good at it. Lana Del Rey - "Cinnamon Girl" Genre: Folk-Rock, Dream Pop Thoughts: The best album cut from the album BY FARRRRR. I do really enjoy the outro. Ariana Grande - "NASA" Genre: Dance-Pop, R&B Thoughts: The best song on the album, and one of the few songs with a distinctive and inventive sound. Cold Cave - "Promised Land" Genre: Darkwave Thoughts: Nice dark synthpoppy stuff if you like that. Kylie Minogue - "New York City" Genre: Dance-Pop Thoughts: Totally a random demo she tacked onto a GH collection, but its also better than everything on Stream Me Once and Golden. Poppy - "Meat" Genre: Synth-Pop Thoughts: If you're not stanning Poppy in 2019, you're behind the times. Anna Meredith - "Inhale Exhale" Genre: Synth-Pop Thoughts: The song is great at building and generating momentum making for an explosive end. LADIES CODE - "Set me Free" Genre: K-Pop Thoughts: They're kinda known for the more downtempo loungey or sad-girl kpop but this song sounds like it could be recorded by SISTAR. I like it still and the instrumental is super fresh. Weki Meki - "Picky Picky" Genre: K-Pop Thoughts: A really fresh chorus with a lot of personality packed into it makes this song memorable. Rina Sawayama - "STFU!" Genre: Pop, Nu-metal Thoughts: I'm enjoying this nu-metal pop crossover action that's been happening but thi is one of those songs with intense verses and a weak chorus so it didn't go into my top 100 sorry. (G) I-Dle - "Seniorita" Genre: K-Pop Thoughts: Way better than Shawnmila's track. NCT 127 - "Superhuman" Genre: K-Pop Thoughts: OMG where did all these Kpop songs come from? Yeah this is another solid NCT 127 track that is a cluster**** which is a type of sound I enjoy. Lust for Youth - "Adrift" Genre: Synth-Pop Thoughts: I'm obsesed with the vocals on this track. The instrumental is just new order by the numbers, and I'm at peace with that. Fromis9 - "Fun" Genre: K-Pop Thoughts: Yeah I love the sorta downward chromatic sound in the chorus. Patience - "The Girls are Chewing Gum" Genre: Synth-Pop Thoughts: Bouncy fun synthpop that sounds timeless, could have been released any day from 1990 til now. CLC - "No" Genre: K-Pop Thoughts: The chorus is really really good with its call and response "no." Sakanaction - "Match to Peanut" Genre: Indie Rock, Nu Disco Thoughts: Nice jingly chorus that sticks in your head for days on end.
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 23, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 On A Roll is that bop I also enjoyed the episode of Black Mirror. It was so good!

Ewan Chaos Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Love that you continue to be Meghan's one indieheaux stan Little Boots had an EP? Hmm need to listen... NASA, yes Ariana yes queen of making songs with cute production and lyrical content. Do My Thing, AMAZING! "And if you're not down, get out of my way~"
potent Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 New York City is cute, I wasn't checking for it that much though. Cinnamon Girl Throw It Back was okay
Jet Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 NASA Senorita is so underrated, not sure why everyone didn't love it

Just keep in mind its sort of a grower and a whole "project" not a song with one or two standouts. On 12/18/2019 at 9:18 AM, Sunderland 4ever said: What a nice surprise. Your AOTY happened to be one of those albums I wondered why I hadn't listened to more as I was in the process of rating all albums from the first half of the year give or take two weeks ago. I remember I downloaded it soon after its release date and just left it unlistened for more than 6 months after just giving it a single listen. Hell it hadn't even reached 20 scrobbles by December. When I Get Home was nice too. Albeit more recent, it is an album I would have liked to listen to more. Really cohesive stuff, no track stands out yet all works really well as a whole. I feel like a lot of people feel the same way thankfully I spent a good amount of time with it. In my mind I had been slotting it as HM material, but when it came down to it I realized it was main list material. pretty unique stuff. I need to listen more too doe. i haven't heard a few of these and i might rearrange some of these positions but I'm cool with everything that I know. I didn't think u'd be into Shinichiro this much but I get a great vibe from his stuff too. WIGH t5 gang Can't wait to see ur fav songs. And I need to figure out what Darkwave and Ethereal Wave mean, stat. ehtereal wave is like sadcore dream pop thats sorta synthy and darkwave is basically goth synthpop,... i think. I thought you'd rank MaGODelene lower tbh. I forgot about spellling.. its been a long year. good thing I havent started my albums list yet. Great #1 choice that deserves to be highlighted. I didnt super connect with anger management aside from some highlights. And ofcourse, Dedicated is awesome. The gays are trying it with their "Emotion 3.0" critiqes. i actually think magodlene might be better than lp1 but also only time will tell. all the songs are highlights on anger mgmt though! On 12/18/2019 at 4:45 PM, Tom Vercetti said: I tried to like 100 gecs but their music just isn't for me. I am prepared tho for more music of that sort to be the norm in the 20s. I think dedicated & emotion are pretty equal. Each have strong/weak points. When I Get Home is solange's best album tbh but I feel it's lowkey compared to the hype her previous album received. Love I Know You Like It I like Magdalene but I wish there were more melodic tracks like Holy Terrain on it (possibly a minority opinion). I didn't expect mazy fly to be your #1 honestly, but happy you enjoyed it that much. i honestly thought i would dislike it but it got better with every listen to me, i think wigh deserved the asatt hype honestly. holy terrain is my least fave On 12/18/2019 at 8:34 PM, worldwide angel said: Charli Defense Squad WIGH, Magdalene, Slayyyter and Anger Management I will always defend charli against bad faith smears!
