Only 13 albums that did over 1M and 2 albums over 2M.  :lmao:

WITH streaming.  I guess the content this year just wasn't what the GP wanted.

2017 and 2018 didn’t look much different, neither did 2016 other than Adele

What do y'all remember cause the numbers have actually been pretty similar...

2019 will end up pretty similar to 2018. Only the #1 is gonna be low compared to past standards.

A market like UK has numbers that are actually getting considerably lower -- probably due to their idiotic streaming weighing with albums.

Uh, it's probably the top 2-3 being much stronger back then having this effect

Well yeah... 21 & 1989 as the point of comparison. Two albums ranked in Billboard's all-time top 10 albums.

A year like 2013, where there wasn't an anomaly album holds up exactly similar to 2018 including the top 2.

The problem is that the five weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas would boost the sales a lot. It's not like that anymore, so we'll be stuck with relatively low sales at the top.

Taylor doing the same single sales as Ariana despite being in her flop era:worship:

also lovers streams are doing really decent compared to what everyone thought she’d do, I wonder if she can get to 1.3ish before the year is over

Taylor released three singles and one promo single - all pre-album. Ariana only released two singles this year and only one was pre-album. :toofunny2:

INDIGO R&B ALBUM OF THE YEAR

STREAM IT LIKE RIHANNA GIRLIES :heart2:

R&B deserves better. :biblio:

The only one R&Bish higher is Khalid.

2 albums in the top 40:skull: 3 if you're grasping at straws with XXXTENTACION's album

Hollywood's Bleeding is gonna finish around 2.75-3m, and Billie will do around 2.25m.

And the lack of a Q4 boost is replaced with albums having much more longevity in the streaming era. The first few weeks just don't make up as large ratio to the overall total anymore.. which I don't think is necessarily bad.

Let me be CNN and say that Lover is in a strong 4th place.

But I thought A Fad Is Born stomped on MemePG Ariane Big's TUN? What happened?

Did you think it stomped in the USA or WW? That matters, because if you thought it stomped on TUN WW, then you were correct dear

OT: Congrats to the top 10 :clap3:

Indigo has like 40 songs and still could pull 1M?

This list just stinks. Music was pretty blah this year tbh

ASIB release date was October 5th, 2018

The soundtrack was released at the end of last year and was heavily promoted in 2019.

ASIB had two televised performances in its entirety

It's really irrelevant but the only difference between Lover and TUN is that the third single was released a week before, not on album release week :toofunny2:

So Lover didn't really have this drastic advantage. It was also released 6 months after

TUN (single) was released two months before 2019 and promo single Imagine was released one month before 2019 so those sales aren’t included and there’s still a 70k difference, so that’s not nothing :michael:

This really should have been your initial argument and not the "But but, Lover had 3 singles and a promo single before release day" one that made no sense :michael:
