Town's goal is exactly that. Everyone will basically be voting people out. Mafia are basically the master of deception so they are blended in well with the town. They want to kill everyone who is a Townie. So that's what they do at night in secret. Mafia kill is considered a "Faction Kill" so killing the godfather directly won't eliminate that. 3P are pretty self explanatory. They're basically lone wolves with selfish goals. Abilities sort of "edit" this process. I.e. Princess Jasmine's role basically give her two extra secret votes so if she votes in close lynches she can basically determine the result. Donald's doctor role basically stop a player from dying to a kill regardless of who or what they are. Or Shan Yu's Relentess role basically prevent him from dying to a Vig or the lone Serial Killer but it comes at the cost of revealing his role to the game. But it really depends on what happen during the course of the game. But besides that, you use your own personal skills and readings to figure people out. Do you think you can trust this person? Are you going to push this person to be lynched? Can you prove to the town that you can be trusted if you're in the hot seat? Do you truly believe that the person the Detective said is innocent is innocent when there are still roles that reveal mafia as aligned with town? Are you just a boring follower or trying to stay lowkey? Who knows. Thanks dd I only read everything in the OP after I signed up so I do get the general idea of the game since it's like slasher/werevoles and I've played the latter with groups of people I'll see if I have more questions when I get my role though dd
