Lemonaade Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 11k pure sales is what you get Bey! I’m tired of her not releasing physicals anymore! I am not buying a digital copy of your album!

I can see why that would upset you. They double sold albums. Retailers bought from Virgin and then sold them at their stores, thus double-counting the same album for Nielsen. I’m a Hotel California stan, but The Eagles clearly chose to focus on guaranteeing sales as opposed to a #1 debut so I don’t see why I’m not allowed to point out that changing that rule retroactively was unfair nor do I have any reason to acknowledge their chart re-write as official. The Gift is a studio album and Beyonce sings over 70% of it which is the criteria Billboard uses for those rules. And it would be interesting to see what they’d say now - they really hated Britney back in those days but they’d get public backlash now for going out of their way to hurt the career of a woman struggling with a mental illness. Didn’t Homecoming miss the #1? They obviously would have mentioned it if they were considering it as one. Because of it's affiliation with TLK they're probably considering it a companion soundtrack or compilation as is the case in the UK.
its_britney_bitch Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 iTunes dying really killed her surprise releases huh Sis NEEDS physical sales Tidal just isn’t doing it anymore
OreGuy Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 this is tragic a #2 debut with Disney and a brand like Beyonce AND more people behind her. Embarrassing 11k sales too.

Befour Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Hive REJECTING this Beyoncé album Going from 450k to 11k
BeautifulFighter Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 I am screaming at the Hive trying to claim that The Gift is NOT a Beyonce album. This is the same fanbase who will happily try to claim the DC days as part of Beyonce's solo numbers LOL. Y'all funny.

BeautifulFighter Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 HHMMMM let me share a few of my reflections on this situation: 1. No one, i mean, no one, gives a damn that Beyonce is in this movie. Literally, no one. 2. She was really silly to release this album, it was completely pointless. She should have recorded a few songs on the soundtrack and called it a day. 3. I remember the Hive saying things like .. Once Bey drops the Lion King its all over for the girls.. etc and claiming that Shallow and ASIB was only a success because of the movie and the fact that it was a soundtrack. Now its suddenly changed. Soundtracks cannot be expected to do well. 4. Saying this is not a Beyonce album is like claiming that Ed Sheeran's currrent No 1 album is not his. Yes, it is a soundtrack, but it is also a Beyonce album seeing as she is the main performer, curator and executive producer of said soundtrack. Without her, it would NOT exist. 5. Her voice sounds rough. She has lost a lot of range and relies far too much on the sing- rapping thing. Even Spirit would sound far better in a higher key but clearly she has lost range and cannot get up there any more. 6. 11k pure. I- 7. skskkksksk

Specter Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 The Hive should consider auditioning for America's Got Talent. With gymnastics like the ones in this thread I'm sure they'll fare well. Anyways 11k is HORRIBLE lmao. Still a good album tho.
UNNAMI Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Quote The Lion King: The Gift, which is billed to Beyoncé & Various Artists, boasts Queen Bey performing on 10 of the album’s 14 songs. Those songs include “Spirit,” which is also heard in the film and included on its Walt Disney Records soundtrack (titled The Lion King), which zooms 31-13 on the Billboard 200.

This also should be billed as her 7th album but apparently she payed a lot for Billboard to this be called "Beyonce and VA" so her streak is in tact. That silly. I, and many beyhives I know, are very tired of her, her tactics, ignorance and many many more things. She is losing a lot of her fans
UNNAMI Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 The only thing I was scared that she will go some stupid "Lion African Tour", but after this flop I am pretty sure she won't

She is losing a lot of her fans Billboards constant stance changing makes them lose credibility to be honest. Back in the day and later on they made it very clear that The Bodyguard was recognized as a Whitney Houston album. I mean if they saw that as a Whitney Houston album then there is no way they can not see this as a Beyonce album. The Preachers Wife album is also attributed to Whitney. They are both soundtracks yes, but they credit them to Whitney. So why the sudden change now ?

What in compilation soundtrack do y'all not understand?!? It's not a solo studio album, so her record is intact.
