it's basically what songs are the most popular in clubs in the US. they choose from a panelist of DJs that meet their standard, then the DJs report to billboard their most played songs of the week.

All Madonna's singles go #1 on that chart. In 2015 she got 3 more. The only way for Rihanna to get there is IF she keeps this level of fame, IF she releases lots of singles per year and all of them would have to be #1 there AND also IF Madonna stops releasing music since all her 6 singles this decade were #1 there

Even if Madge gets 3 #1s for 2 albums (she takes 3-4 year gaps), she still won't be able to hold Rih off.

 

Ageism doesn't affect this chart as even artists like Cher can still top this chart

 

 

btw,songs don't need to be singles to top this chart.

well no shade to Madonna but she is probably never going to get another #1 on this, but Rihanna is almost at 30, and gains 4/5  #1s on this at least every era. So she isn't far away at all.
