Maybe it would help to take out the stats under each picture until you have the exact info to quickly copy and paste in? Or put a ___ instead of numbers for the moment? It would make it less confusing I think.

Billboard doesn't track global sales (or any sales for that matter anymore; Nielsen Soundscan does). Rihanna has sold fewer albums than the number of singles Celine sold and Rihanna's sold fewer singles than the number of albums Celine has sold. Let's not forget Celine has sold millions of music DVDs.

Well it's not like Rihanna doesn't have 3 albums that have sold 5 million or more.

 

she has 5 albums that have sold 4 million or more.

 

her total album sales is around 35 million which for her to not be a huge album seller is actually pretty great. It's not that's a rihanna doesn't sell albums her single sales are just much better.

 

Mariah's singles did good but her albums always far exceeded her single sales.

 

Madonna had strong single sales and most of her singles are certified.

 

Rihanna is young so ofcourse her name looks out of place but just like Adele has Albums (but not necessarily single sales) Rihanna has single sales (not necessarily the best album seller)

Doesn't Britney's US record sales VASTLY dwarf Gaga's. Britney's album sales shatter Gaga's. And Britney has sold a decent amount of singles

Well if we rank album sales higher than singles than All the current artist would be flops. Nobody buys albums anymore. Even being the number one album on iTunes all week usually means 90K sold.

 

just for a point of reference Rihanna has sold 100K in digital sales for the opening week of TTT and it debuted at #3 on the Hot 200 despite being number one on iTunes.

 

Single sales have also significantly fallen since 2012. Physical and Digital sales are just no longer an accurate way to measure consumption or popularity for artist.

Rihanna has more single sales on Britney though that's why. And since 2005 Rihanna hasn't been that far behind Britney in album sales. Her first 4 albums did sell way more though

Gaga sold 180M records. Billboard, NFL and Insterscope confirmed this right before her halftime show. And britney not 181M

Billboard,NFL, Interscope and X-Factor confirmed this right before her halftime Show. Since halftime Show she sold more than 1M records WW so the one actually sold 181M records is Lady Gaga herself.

Billboard said 178M records sold last year i guess. Since 2016 more than 3M copies sold.

A press release Gaga's label put out isn't a receipt because they can use shipments and album equivalents. It's how Rihanna's able to claim 275M records sold when she's nowhere near that total.

 

Receipts require a breakdown. You've got to use Oricon, SNEP, Nielsen Soundscan, The Official Charts Company, etc. and provide sales from each country.
