Okay this album has grown on me a bit. But my opinion only changed from "boring, faceless" to "good, faceless". It's still definitely her worst album. I'll do a ranking sometime later

I feel like Marina's talking to me in Emotional Machine and now I get teary when I listen to it, I just feel she understands my problems that I went through with my only relationship and being sexually assaulted by the guy who groomed my ex when he was a teenager.

currently in a depressive episode so i just got around to listening to fear this weekend

too afraid is the clear standout imo, what kinda flawless hybrid of happy and i'm a ruin?! next is believe in love, life is strange, emotional machine/soft to be strong… idk it's overall pretty solid, i just wish the production was a little more diverse. the album probs could've been reduced to a stronger 12 tracks (baby first to go) but hopefully the other songs will grow on me.

What the *** is going on in ATRL? Why is everyone hating on this so hard?

The whole album (omitting the fact she did a song with the guy from Despacito EW) is flawless

ATRL's gays showing their LACK OF TASTE.

Too Afraid alone >>>>>>>>> Entire Careers.

I think the album's definitely a great pop record but compared to the previous stuff she's done, it's mediocre, for her standards...

If it stays lik this I think it's ok. I expected less tbh

It's a solid 7/10 for me. She received plenty of positive reviews but most of them don't count for MC.

Life is strange and Believe in Love are so freaking relatable. Love her so much.

Tiziano's Boy

I'm a machine
An emotional being
Since I was a teen
Cut my feelings off clean, clean

It's no excuse
To treat me like you do
My perception is skewed
'Cause I know what you went through

Cut from devotion, lost in an ocean
Out of emotion for you

I'm a machine
An emotional being
Since I was a teen
Cut my feelings off clean, clean

Ooh...

Did you ever truly love me? (Did you ever truly love me?)
Were you just too scared to be free? (Were you just too scared to be free?)
My God is dying silently (my God is dying silently)
Nobody believes
Nobody believes

This f*cking song is just so gorgeous!

:weeps: :weeps: :weeps: :weeps:

Does anyone else feel it's the one closest to a title track since it deals with the concept of love and fear directly

It could've been called Love & Fear

Her first album without a title track :'(

This album really grew on me. The Fear side is great.

LOVE + FEAR turned out to be a pretty excellent pop record.

Most of the FEAR side is basic pop or "too safe pop", but it knocks hard. You is underrated as hell.

Just too afraid, just too afraid
Just too afraid, that's why I stay.

still OBSESSED with this. my top 5 are handmaid heaven, too afraid, orange trees, to be human, and enjoy your life. can't even try to do a trinity and i genuinely love every song except you, no more suckers (it goes off honestly i just hate the intro), and baby (would probably like it a lot more if it didn't have 'feat.' in the title, ****s up the tracklist).

ugh, i wish i could tell her how good and meaningful it is. it has so much replay value for me. she sounds liberated and she's never used her voice or lyrics like this. it resonates. seriously undervalued. i hope i can meet her after her chicago show.
