Literally nobody said she didn’t :ahh:

Most people in here are just saying that no, she isn’t nearly as big as the other MPGs in their prime were, just because she finally got her first 2 #1s (keep in mind most the others had many more and a diamond cert up to this point in their careers) so now a bunch of little 15 year olds are running in here feeling extra brave acting like she’s one of the biggest megastars of the entire decade when she’s still not.

The standards for her her success are (and always have been) very B-list.

This is what success looks like in 2019. Regardless of your feelings and apparent lack of common sense, Ariana is the number one pop star at the moment. To be able to score back to back number one debuts is a big deal and only 2 other females in music history have accomplished this. She's definitely crossed over into main pop girl status.

I just think it's awesome because we haven't had any new huge pop stars in a while. Especially a new main pop girl.

Nothing B-list about 2 #1 debuts. Keep seething and quoting us with ":ahh:" emotes as if you're doing something. These essays scream insecure and bothered

Now back to the Hot 100, which Ariana is currently owning

Insecure? Over a h100 talk? :rip:

anyways yes the #1 debuts are impressive but it still doesn’t make her a megastar. Up to this point in their careers many of the MPGs had loads of more success both in albums and singles. Nobody’s denying that Ariana is the biggest pop star of November 2018-January 2019, but the fact of the matter is it still doesn’t make her an all time pop phenomenon like some of you kids are claiming she is. Know her place.

Songs don't just stop racking up points once they leave the charts though :psyduck:

Dont know why they are attacking you. You would think a song stops selling units or getting airplay or streams

They're trying it

, Ariana is the number one pop star at the moment.

Exactly.

yes she’s the biggest pop girl of this particular moment but her overall achievements and success are nothing compared to the other main girls of the decade as a whole. So comments like “Ariana surpassed _____” when their peaks cannot even be compared without embarrassing Ariana are getting super tiring.

Y’all still pretending Ariana is B-list? :rip: Anyway, it makes no sense to compare her to whatever your girls were doing a decade ago.

OT: Nice hold for 7R. :clap3: Hope it can manage a third week so that it’ll have four consecutive weeks after the album is released.

Ok and they all start somewhere. A good way to compare the girls is when they're at their peaks. What kind of power are they pulling at their peaks? Ill tell you what they weren't doing? Launching number ones to the top of the summit with seemingly relative ease. That's a huge feat, especially when streaming has been so male dominated and girls are struggling to get hits nowadays. Even Taylor Swift struggled to get a decent hit in this new climate.

So yeah if you bring in all the stale ass receipts from the past Ariana doesn't compare. We get it. Right now though, she's becoming one of the biggest names in music and breaking records in the process.

:bibliahh:

She's definitely as big as others in their prime. What other female has scored 2 #1 debuts, consecutively? Mariah and Britney. She broke STREAMING RECORDS for both of them, at that. Before it was she can't get a #1 and "needed" features. She's dominated for a year straight on her own name, including reaching new critical & commercial heights. It's idiotic to downplay how HUGE Ariana is right now.

I guess we can say Rihanna is "very B-list" because Mariah got 11 #1s and multiple certifications at this point in her career. (Using this example to show you how stupid you sound, love Miss Fenty <3).

All a #1 debut means is thst you immediately generated consumption.  That’s all it means.

where’s Fantasia? Taylor Hicks? And yes good to know Zane Malik and Childish Gambino became superstars because they debuted #1.

Ariana is a household name and will only get bigger, it's not like this is her debut with a cute little #1 :gaycat2:

There was a time when Fantasia was a household name.

Your disgusting! Comparing ariana to fantasia. If atrl was a videogame someone would've been bitch slapped your ass already.

We should be able to ban members out of threads. It's not like we have mods anymore. At least we cant get banned banned anymore.

Anyway can we get some signatures to ban chartsfag from the weekly bb threads?
