Jet Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Bey and Janelle GIAW, TU,N, Imagine and Breathin all could be higher but I'm just glad they got the recognition they all deserve
potent Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 I’m familiar with 2/3 of those movies which is surprising cause I don’t really care for movies, but Love Simon was great and Oceans 8 was very well done despite not being part of the movie genres I usually enjoy. Black Panther I actually never saw despite listening to the soundtrack As for the songs Nice for What and Screwed are bops, Unless I’m With You is a great ballad. I need to give JT’s album some plays.
Kiss It Better Posted December 31, 2018 Author Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) 20. Justin Timberlake – Man Of The Woods After the massive comeback to music with The 20/20 Experience in 2013 and the Oscar nominated hit Can't Stop The Feeling in 2016, he released this album, which most people thought it would be another big win for him also with the Super Bowl performance but the opposite happened, his halftime show was a mess, his album and singles flopped (despite having 2 top 10s) and for me, this album is indeed messy but it got some bops, so I re-arranged the tracklist with just the songs I like and BOOM we have a solid album (my tracklist below) Fave Tracks: Supplies, Montana, Breeze Off The Pond 1. Filthy 2. Midnight Summer Jam 3. Higher Higher 4. Wave 5. Supplies 6. Breeze Off The Pond 7. Montana 8. Livin Off the Land 9. Man of the Woods 10. Say Something (ft. Chris Stapleton) 19. Jessie J – R.O.S.E. as I've said before, the Chinese talent show winner deserves better... she put out a great album this year, more rhythmic and slow than her previous works and I think this is her best album to date. I wish she just put it as one album with 4 discs instead of dropping them as EPs on different days which made it all over the place. Fave Tracks: Dopamine, Someone's Lady, Real Deal, Glory 18. Blood Orange – Negro Swan I started to listen to this album thanks to some hype on Twitter (even though I started to actually listen to it after I got suspended on Twitter) I knew Dev Hynes from Tinashe's Bet which is a great track, he's really talented, this album is great though it might be hard to listen at first but it may grow on you Fave Tracks: Hope, Jewelry, Charcoal Baby 17. Kendrick Lamar & Various Artists – Black Panther OST I didn't know he was doing a full soundtrack until All The Stars dropped, I thought he was gonna release a brand new album (follow up to DAMN.) but this soundtrack... is the best soundtrack that I've ever heard, the album features SZA, Jorja Smith, The Weeknd, Swae Lee, Travis Scott, etc all talents!! Totally deserved the AOTY Grammy nomination Fave Tracks: Redemption, All The Stars, Opps, Pray For Me, The Ways 16. Ella Mai – Ella Mai the album is kinda disappointing if I compare it with her EPs tbh, it's kind of too long and has some fillers, I wish there were more Breakfast In Beds, Switch Siders and Nobody Elses kinda tracks but I still love it anyway Fave Tracks: Boo'd Up, Gut Feeling, Whatchamacallit, Sauce 15. The Weeknd – My Dear Melancholy, a surprise EP from him, unlike Rihanna and Frank Ocean at least Abel feed us a bit it has some watered down House of Balloons vibes but still so good... I wish the rumor about the follow up EP in August and December were true at least now 2019 is gonna be 2016 literally with all of my faves in my sig releasing Fave Tracks: Call Out My Name, Try Me, Wasted Times 14. Bas – Milky Way this album has some J.Cole vibes but also has House/Jazzy vibes to it, which I really like about it... get into it y'all Fave Tracks: Tribe, Sanufa, Spaceship 13. Summer Walker – Last Day of Summer started to get into her, thanks to some viral tweets on Twitter again she has this SZA meets HER vibes, really solid album I love it Fave Tracks: CPR, Girls Need Love 12. Camila Cabello – Camila this was the first album released this year that I listened to, it was #1 on my list until April... it's a solid 10 track debut album from her but I wish some of the scrapped songs were on the album because I know she still has many bops in her vault, also the fact that she paid the potential hits from this album dust and released the garbage Sangria Wine and Consequences Orchestra instead girl wtf this had potential to have 4-5 back to back top 20 hits (Havana, NBTS, SLC, Real Friends, Into It) but girlie ruined the hype instead Fave Tracks: Into It, She Loves Control, Real Friends, Havana 11. Tinashe – Joyride after 829483849 years finally this album is released but too bad the tracklist didn't live up to the expectations and all those wait, so many great songs got scrapped from the album... this could've made into top 10 if it had better execution, no wonder she moved on after the album dropped to the canceled Nashe project Fave Tracks: He Don't Want It, Stuck With Me, No Contest, Faded Love Edited December 31, 2018 by Kiss It Better
Kiss It Better Posted December 31, 2018 Author Posted December 31, 2018 20. Charli XCX - 5 In The Morning simple video but i love the aesthetic, reminds me of yaeji's raingurl video but simpler (which would've made the list but it was released last year so it's not eligible) 19. H.E.R. - Could've Been (ft. Bryson Tiller) a simple HER type of video, i just love the vibes to it though i have a better concept for this video where like a couple are fighting then the next morning there's a natural disaster happening and they're looking for each other but they both feel like it's too late though they ended up finding each other at a perfect place(s).mp3 18. Justin Timberlake - Supplies idk why but i just love videos with subliminal messages and creepy stuff like this 17. Charli XCX - 1999 i wish she did more 90s references like the BOMT video which was mentioned on the song but not on the video, i loveeeeee it!!! i'm honestly surprised that Charli could be on my lists so many times this year, considering I'm not a big fan of her and in fact i'm sometimes annoyed at y'all overhyping her, as someone said on here "rep tour money well spent" indeed (p.s. yes i didn't write ***** ***** on the title on purpose) 16. Cardi B - Be Careful it was her best video until Money video came out, really cool concept and good execution 15. Silk City & Dua Lipa - Electricity basically Anna Wintour video with more budget and crowd, it was above AW before until I rewatched the videos also the blonde bob suits Dua better than the black bob she's been having since April which starting to get annoying now 14. Azealia Banks - Anna Wintour actually this was placed below #25 before i started to rewatching all of the 2018 videos, i love the cute choreo and the Anna Wintour bob wig, but the way her n*pples are hard all the time is lowkey annoying at some point, also i love that she brings the iconic gif from her Coachella set to this video 13. Cardi B - Money HER BEST VIDEO!!! thanks to the video now the song is growing on me... this video kinda reminds me of Pour It Up and Formation in some ways... 12. The Internet - Come Over this video is so simple yet this is so cute, i love it so much 11. half•alive - still feel. i found this exact song by this artist that i never knew about from Youtube recommendation thing and from the thumbnails i knew this was gonna be some tumblr-ish aesthetic thing that i like and yes it is, really beautiful video i love the aesthetic

Pynk "the most acclaimed music video from the album" Had it at #1 on my Best Music Videos list, too @Tove: "sadly this didn't help the song on charts at all" I think that was because the remix doesn't even compare to the original Movies: sfjsif Rih ha impact Ocean's 8 was just fine. Love, Simon + Black Panther were nice. But okay at this being a showcase of films that nicely represented genders, races and sexualities, we love that! Songs: Waves, imagine, Montana, Pipe Don't Judge Me + Unless It's with You NICE and Giaw Screwed wow i didn't even realize that wow my mind i love both album version and remix version bitches On 12/30/2018 at 5:58 PM, Kevin2803 said: Dua, Janelle & Camila No Contest A Star is Born Icarus Falls is kinda cute i wish it was shorter

-mUsIcLoVeR- Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Anna Wintour Also, The Black Panther soundtrack woooo. I actually haven't seen the film, but I have overplayed the soundtrack.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 31, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 31, 2018 Glad you got into legend Blood Orange! Did you hear his other albums? His 2013 one is so good
Jet Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Money is so well done, I wish it had been released earlier so I could include it on my countdown
potent Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Black Panther OST and Ella Mai both solid albums, though I think they could've been better. I'm listening to JT's album for the first time as we speak. 1999 and Electricity are great videos!
Kiss It Better Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 40. Silk City & Dua Lipa – Electricity way better than One Kiss, but this one underperformed unlike One Kiss... well, at least this got a Grammy nom and likely to win (because Mark and Diplo have won some Grammys in this category before) 39. Nao – Orbit wasn't into it this much at first, but then it grew on me... i love the voice change in the second verse 38. The Weeknd – Call Out My Name the only single from MDM, i wish it got more promo because it felt kinda forgotten 37. Justin Timberlake – Breeze Off The Pond a chill bop from the President of Pop, I wish this was a single instead of Filthy also the bridge>>>>>>>>> 36. Kendrick Lamar & SZA – All The Stars one of the first songs released in 2018, i thought this was Kendrick's lead single from a follow up to DAMN. but turns out this is Black Panther soundtrack... i enjoy SZA more on this song than Kendrick, this is catchy but not generic i love it... rooting for the Grammy win next month 35. Nao – Saturn (ft. Kwabs) a beautiful, soothing track... Nao's and Kwabs' voices mix so well, i missed Kwabs' voice wonder when will he release his second album 34. The Internet – Next Time/Humble Pie Next Time is like Mood Part 2 while Humble Pie will teleport you into another world, it gives me Ego Death vibes 33. SG Lewis & Clairo – Better a bop!!! 32. The Weeknd – Try Me i didn't like it that much at first but it grew on me, also in case y'all missed it this song has a vertical video which is also good, i love the beat and the production wooo 31. Jessie J – Dopamine this song is not only good but this also has a woke lyrics, the other girls could only wish! 30. Bruno Mars – Finesse (Remix) (ft. Cardi B) back in 2016 who would've thought this would get a remix, with a newcomer female rapper like Cardi B? Cardi ate this song up, would've been her 2nd #1 had it been released on a Friday and this had so much potential to win Pop Duo Grammy too, why Bruno???? 29. Justin Timberlake – Supplies underrated bop from President of Pop, I wish he released this as the lead and performed this at SBHS instead of Filthy 28. Nao – Make It Out Alive (ft. SiR) a bop, deserved Love Galore's success tbh 27. Camila Cabello – Into It a pop perfection! miss C did THAT!! I wish this was a single ? 26. The Weeknd – Wasted Times the best song on MDM!!! I loved it since the first listen, the production>>>>>>

Remmy Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Albums: #11 and #12 being this high oh no Man of the Woods is decent, your tracklist is... interesting Some of my least favorites still remain. My Dear Melancholy, + Black Panther OST are also around the same level, replace Redemption with X and your BP faves would be on point Videos: Supplies has a few solid moments. Electricity cute gorl. 1999 is a fun time Songs: Wasted Times, All the Stars Breeze Off the Pond and Call Out My Name Finesse (Original) Electricity Yeah it really deserved better, One Kiss just doesn't compare!
Kiss It Better Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 10. H.E.R. She released 2 EPs this year and got nominated for 5 Grammys which was a surprise for me, and she got 2 songs that got me in my feelings (Could’ve Been and Take You There) these two are just soooo good, she’s really talented and her voice is so soothing 9. The Internet A band full of talented people!! After a year of solo albums in 2017, they came through putting out an AOTY worthy album Hive Mind, and also in 2018 I get into their previous albums (pre-Ego Death) and they’re all so good 8. The Weeknd He dropped an EP and headlined Coachella, also did some festivals and Asian Tour, which he finally acknowledged Kiss Land again, 2019 is gonna be the year he’s dropping the next album (which is why 2019 is gonna be 2016 part 2 with all my faves dropping an album ) 7. Frank Ocean In August, I started to get obsessed with blond until now I finally realized how much of a great album and a masterpiece blond is, before that I just liked it and that’s it but now I love it in another level and I love him even more, waiting for FO5 to come out this year 6. Rihanna Yes she didn’t release ANYTHING new this year beside the lipsticks and lingerie but girl… still I listened to her a lot and Rated R finally grew on me to the point that now I think it’s her second best album (after Anti) now that it’s 2019 I’m waiting for R9 to come out 5. Taylor Swift Reputation was one of my highlight of the year, despite of it being released in 2017, honestly it’s still the best album released in the past 18 months, it’s a pop perfection, I’m hoping for her to top it with TS7 4. Mariah Carey A LEGEND!!!! Who just got another top 3 hit with the Christmas classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” which likely to hit #1 next December. Also she just put out a great album, Caution and I listened to her discography even more this year and some of her old songs started to grow on me, like The Impossible from Memoirs 3. Ariana Grande 2018 def wasn’t a good year for her personal life, but career wise this was her best year, it was HER YEAR!! From the comeback single no tears, to the grammy nominated God is a woman, the best pop album of the year, the pop perfection everytime, her first #1 single thank u, next and the perfection imagine SHE DID THAT!!! Patiently waiting for AG5 to come out (in 24 days) 2. Tinashe She finally released the long awaited Joyride, some other bops from the canceled Nashe and some random collabs, not to mention the leaked Joyride leftovers, she snapped but she still been paid dust by the gp and her label well good thing now that she left RCA that isn’t a problem anymore… rooting for her to drop more In Case We Die and Cold Sweat type of tracks in 2019 1. Azealia Banks AHHHHH!!! MY GIRL!!! Y’all might hate her but she released so many back to back bops this year!!!! Even though F2 is delayed still, she released a holiday EP 2 weeks ago which was dope!! I hope F2 or B&P will finally get released this year or at least Playhouse and In Excelsis which are the 2 tracks I’m very excited for from F2
Kevin2803 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Tinashe Camila and Joyride missing the top 10 of the album charts
Remmy Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 There's so much on this page it almost crashed my browser I had to go back to page 1 just to type this out and post Tinashe snapped this year??? When? The Weeknd Rihanna and Ariana Sweetener was definitely her weakest work but yeah, she was truly everywhere. Taylor whew

Kiss It Better Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 10. J.Cole - ATM This video is really cool, it’s basically telling about someone who is too Addicted To Money (ATM) that they would do anything to chase it, it has great message and good execution 9. Janelle Monae – Make Me Feel a pansexual/bisexual anthem! The video is the more budget and more classy version of Screwed I think, I love it! 8. Childish Gambino – Feels Like Summer This video is awesome!!! I love all the cameos on the video, from legends like MJ, Whitney, Beyonce, Rihanna, Michelle Obama, to peasants like Lil Pump hell even Azealia Banks is in it too!! Sitting on a tree branch above everyone else and watching everyone doing their things also Nicki playing a barbie house and Travis ruined it (which implies the whole Nicki meltdown on Travis was childish) and there’s a lot of subliminal messages on it which is why I love it so much!!! 7. Ariana Grande – no tears left to cry It was my VOTY tied with All The Stars until like June when Apes**t was released, her best video too until *my actual VOTY* was released, i wish the intro was on the album 6. The Weeknd – Call Out My Name This video is simple but I love the aesthetic and the editing 5. Janelle Monae – Django Jane AHHHH!!!!!! She came through this year with the album and the album visual!!! This video might not be everyone’s favorite (overshadowed by the other videos by herself this year) but honestly this is my favorite, this is like an anthem, deserved more!! 4. Travis Scott – SICKO MODE (ft. Drake) A super dope video by Travis, the editing, the aesthetic and everything is flawless 3. Kendrick Lamar & SZA – All The Stars This video is at #3 mostly for the SZA’s scenes, the aesthetic and the editing>>>>>> 2. The Carters – APES**T Someone said this is like a The Louvre vlog video lmfaooooooo but no for me this is like The Louvre version of Formation video with Jay-Z so flawless and classy 1. Ariana Grande – God is a woman VIDEO OF THE YEAR!!!!! PERIOD! HER BEST VIDEO!!!!! ALL THE SCENES AND EVERYTHING!!!! THE RACCOON SCREAMING!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here's a youtube playlist of the entire list
Kiss It Better Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 10. H.E.R. – I Used To Know Her This piece of work is different than her previous works, but there's still some songs that have similar vibes, which i love the most Fave Tracks: Could've Been, Take You There, As I Am, Feel A Way, I'm Not OK 9. VanJess – Silk Canvas i discovered them at the end of November, thanks to Kaytranada who also produced the best on the album called "Another Lover", the album is chill, housey and R&B-ish Fave Tracks: Another Lover, Honeywheat, Rewind Time 8. J.Cole - KOD his best album tbh!! deserved the other rappers' success, very underrated Fave Tracks: ATM, The Cut Off, FRIENDS 7. Cardi B – Invasion of Privacy a solid debut album by a female rapper!! the production are dope, the tracklist could've been put better though Fave Tracks: Bickenhead, Bodak Yellow, Get Up 10 6. Jorja Smith – Lost & Found this was AOTY for about a month until #2 is released, I thought this would pull a Ctrl for me but it didn't... i feel like there are too many ballads on the album and On My Mind should've been on the album Fave Tracks: Where Did I Go?, Lost & Found, Wandering Romance 5. Janelle Monae – Dirty Computer future AOTY grammy winner!!! the album is so cohesive, no words... Fave Tracks: Django Jane, Screwed, Don't Judge Me 4. Nao – Saturn some songs on this album could be recorded under Rihanna's Reggae album tbh, songs like If You Ever and Drive and Disconnect with Rihanna vocals honestly i thought Nao would pull a SZA this year with some chart success but i was wrong, she truly deserves better Fave Tracks: If You Ever, Saturn, Make It Out Alive, Curiousity 3. Ariana Grande – sweetener to be honest, when it was released it was just okay but it grew on me, especially with me constantly playing everytime and better off almost everyday and not getting tired of it... the Pharrell hate is so unnecessary he produced some gems not only for Ari but also for others Fave Tracks: everytime, better off, REM, get well soon, borderline 2. The Internet – Hive Mind After the Grammy nominated album, Ego Death they released solo albums in 2017 and in 2018 they released the follow up to Ego Death, Hive Mind and unlike the previous albums, this one is featureless and I think this could be their best album, it was my AOTY until Caution took the title by the beginning of December Fave Tracks: La Di Da, Come Over, Mood, Next Time/Humble Pie, It Gets Better (With Time) 1. Mariah Carey – Caution FINALLY!!! After almost 5 years the queen of R&B dropped the follow up to Me. I Am. Mariah… The Elusive Chantuese. This album is soooo good so many bops Fave Tracks: 8th Grade, The Distance, Stay Long Love You, Caution, Potrait
