potent Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Apeshit is great! It had to grow on me but now I really love it Lost in Japan is cute. Probably one of the less bad Shawn singles
Pink Matter Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Fukk Sleep, Charcoal Baby, deep end, and Apeshit I ended up listening to Delicate for the ATRL Grammy's and it actually was pretty good? I saw you mention Omar Apollo in the ATRL Critic thread so I downloaded his album. I plan on checking it out when I'm done with finals!
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 18, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2018 great update... only song I don't use is lost in japan.. snoozefest new love is so adorable deep end n apesh*t delicate...
Mark Rih Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I like Delicate and LIJ, both cute songs. 90s is a good spot for them.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Ape is okay but i'd rather just listen to a good migos song instead. Lykke should've stuck with what she's good at, but considering what was on her album, deep end is on the upper portion.
Dom Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Delicate uh, what a holy hymn. tay tay did that. Shawn is not my taste of a musician, but glad that he gave a masterpiece that is lost a translation homage.
Vilppu Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 luv apeshit and deep end was the only lykke song this year that wasn't completely useless
MP2K Posted December 19, 2018 Author Posted December 19, 2018 I know I'll fall behind but I have no choice but to resume Friday! Don't forget about me
MP2K Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 (edited) 90. “Hungry Hippo” Tierra Wack Key Lyric/Bit: He likes my diamonds and my pearl / I said, thank you I designed it Why is it important? While I don’t think Whack World is the most game-changing alum like critics like to think…You cannot listen to this song just once. She succeeded. 89. “Focus” Charli XCX Key Lyric/Bit: The cruelly addictive, simple chorus. Why is it important? The people were here for “5 In the Morning,” “1999,” and “No Angel.” I move different. 88. “Waiting on the Warmth” MorMor Sounds like: Summer nights Key Lyric/Bit: The build up from his sing-speaking on the verses to his controlled scream of a hard-rock on the chorus. 87. "Sugar & Spice" Hatchie Key Lyric/Bit: But you don't call me baby anymore Why is it important? If it never left, we’re going to pretend Dream Pop is back. 86. “Girlfriend (feat. Dam Funk)” Christine and the Queens Why is it important? Dance your 'gay' feelings out to this empowered pop-funk collaboration. Feels like: Slipping foam-covered headphones on and plugging them into your Sony Walkman while you’re strolling down the street. Edited December 21, 2018 by MP2K
MP2K Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 (edited) 85. “Who Hurt You?” Daniel Caesar Theme: “I'm N Luv (Wit A Stripper)” sexed-up and slow-paced. What’s it about? Missed connections. 84. “Like I Do (feat. GoldLink)” Christina Aguilera Theme: “She's Out of My League” the BET version. Key Lyric/Bit: The production. 83. “Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)” Post Malone Why is it important? Hate to admit that these two have an ear for good radio melodies/hits. “White Iverson” is still his best slap. Feels like: Cruisin’ with the top down. 82. “D'Evils” SiR Key Lyric/Bit: The jumpstart of the song with its sample. What’s it about? Smoking the rigors of life away. 81. “Hunger” Florence + The Machine Why is it important? The dramatic return of Florence and the Machine we’d all been waiting for. What's it about? Emptiness Edited December 21, 2018 by MP2K
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 21, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 21, 2018 Hunger, Like I Do
World Eater Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Focus, S&S and Gf are pop excellence! 8 hours ago, MP2K said: Why is it important? The people were here for “5 In the Morning,” “1999,” and “No Angel.” I move different. I am here for all of these
Lazuli Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Hunger, Sugar & Spice, Girlfriend, Psycho, Like I Do
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 21, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 21, 2018 I regret not getting into Tierra Whack This update resonated with my spirit. Girlfriend, Focus, waiting on the Warmth, Sugar & Spice, Like I Do Apparently the instrumental for Girlfriend is really just an already created synth line from some random program but I don't even care. She made it sound expensive.
Vilppu Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 psycho slaps... if post were a clean man it would be completely socially acceptable to stan like i do was by far the best song on xtine's album and probs my fave from her since like... back to basics even?
Wicked Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 It's not that Whack World was game changing per se but it's the embodiment of what people have been saying for a while: Hip-Hop is the new Punk. Hungry Hippo is SO GOOD. Your comments are hilarious lol @ She's Out of My League BET version. Daniel is dope & I need to get around to Florence' new album.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 I don't hate post but I wouldn't voluntarily listen to him either. the pop songs here r my favorite~
potent Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 I listened to Sugar and Spice because of Best Of and I really like the sound! It's so easy to listen to Hunger and Girlfriend are too low though
