Mark Rih Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Oh wow the top 10 starting now Slow Down Normani best song so far, Calvin production is flawless
Remmy Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Another Best Of that praises Abel's Try Me while it's definitely my least favorite from the EP Didn't care for either of the Calvin/Normani collabs, but her song Waves is cute.
Chemical X. Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Bad Bunny is very intriguing to me despite the fact that I don’t know any Spanish. He did an IG live discussing the album which I really admire. I will probably give it a listen in the new year when things finally calm down
Kevin2803 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I prefer Checklist and Waves, but Slow Down is also cute
Blue Rose Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Slow Down is a bop. Needed something more to become a certified smash
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 27, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 27, 2018 My fave so far is High Horse. The Normani songs were just ok to me. I really do like her, but she needs to give it to me musically for me to enjoy her as an artist. She's onto something she just needs to go the extra mile.

These 3 were some of the best songs of her career and will be acknowledged as such on my YE countdown (hint hint). Breathin is the first of the 3 to show up not just in my countdown, but in my Top 10! I love that this song tackles the difficult subject of anxiety in such pop-tacular fashion. The beat is glorious and Ariana sounds really beautiful. This is easily one of the most well conceived songs in her whole discography. I'm really bummed TUN killed it and it didn't peak inside the Top 10. Truly the Into You of Sweetener. I think this will end up an Ari cult classic.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 27, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 27, 2018 Oh your'e team Max, not team P?
Chemical X. Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I’m gonna be honest- I hate breathin all I’m saying is that everytime was right there. If it was everytime/thank u, next happening at the same time, maybe Ariana would have ended the year with two #1s
lhdang2000 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 breathin' is good, but Arianators act like it's her best song ever is not cute. I still like it tho.
Remmy Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 breathin Easily the best from Sweetener, like it's barely a competition. Glad they made it a single but of course it was overshadowed
TayRianaPH Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Hi sweetie! Great list so far! ? My pics on the Top 20 3. Baby 2. High Horse 1. Breathin!!!! See you on my Best Of too.
Jet Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Whew the Breathin praise Easily one of the best songs this year!

But it had been YEARS since I instantly loved one of their songs up to the release of this remix. And yes, it's specifically this version of the song that I absolutely adore. This remix is absolutely incredible and the most HAPPY, joyous pop song of 2018. It was my summer anthem and my instant pick-me-up. The breakdown when he starts singing the ahh's was one of my most repeated sections of a song last year. Props to The Stereotypes for adding a ton of new life to this track. I really want Foster to continue venturing into pop music, honestly. 7 The Weeknd - Call Out My Name And here we have it - my top pick from My Dear Melancholy, for 2018! This song, like a lot of the EP, is very reminiscent of his debut mixtapes, with the dark and foreboding sense of dread and darkness that comes with that sound, but it's also maybe his best vocal showcasing ever. That chorus is so powerful - a moment. It's also easily the best intro song for any project I listened to in 2018. It perfectly summarizes the tone of the entire EP in one strong sucker punch to any happiness I may have gotten from a track like Sit Next to Me. Talk about polar opposites right next to each other on the countdown, lol. 6 RAYE, Maleek Berry, & Nana Rogues - Confidence I don't think this song is super well known on here, but I was completely obsessed with it for the better of the last 6 months of 2018. And like Sit Next to Me, was also my go to summer anthem. The Rihanna-esque song got me through the complete silence of Rihanna's musical absence last year. While I may not gave gone on a tropical island beach vacation in 2018, this song certainly took me there with it's strong vibes. It literally sounds like paradise. i'm a sucker for songs like this. I really hope RAYE releases a proper album in 2019 - check out this EP this song is on though, it's full of bops!
Mark Rih Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 First time hearing that FTP song, let me add it to my library immediately COMN
