Vxspertine Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Drag them all to hell and don't let them ever come back
Navyofbadgals Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 The worst songs list is on point but I do like some tv shows and albums on here ? I quite like SSSS too, but I get that people dislike it (and I mean it was def a step down from previous records) also loving the J. Bore hate ❤️
Maddox Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Haven't seen/finished any of the worst of TV list except for TGP and The End Of.... (i liked the show but you made some points!!) I don't remember anything abt the Ella Mai album. That JT song/vid is a disaster Glad he's over! Poor Em Rest of the songs/albums list is accurate! It's been 2 years and it still feels like pop culture doesn't know how to deal with the Trump presidency. Everyone is trying their hardest to get a twitter reaction from him as a form of #Resistance lol (it's only a matter of time b4 James Corden gets called a hero for making a snarky comment about his hair or sth) And yeah if you want to cancel/keep following your favorite ~sketchy artist then do it in peace...
World Eater Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 the banner I agree with basically all of your picks, maybe except for ssss, but I can see why one would not like it
Blue Rose Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 I agree with everything except: Filthy, it’s a grower and the production is tight. It still missed my Top100 songs so maybe you have a point. Lykke Li. Cute album, great songs mixed with some mediocre ones. Very typical of her. Venom. I enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece but it’s good for what it is.
Body Electrician Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Drag Filthy, SSSS and 13RW Not here for EOTFW hate though one of my favourites of 2018
Love Drought Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 The accuracy in the worst songs list So Sad So sexy was really disappointing. Everything about Ella Mai is boring, can't believe that this is supposedly the new face of r&b for females. I didn't listen to YG's album cause I had a feeling that it'll be awful. I wonder if J Cole will continue to release subpar albums that'll only be raved about for a week. I'm actually glad you posted something about the Good Place cause I've been planning on watching it for a while now so I guess I'll check out the first season.
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 11, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 11, 2018 omg I forgot about No Brainer I agree with your list!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 MGK/Em feud was so lame like they wanted it to happen so badly, but it's still non-event Filthy is a disaster I can't believe they choose this as lead single nnn not So Sad So Sexy drag it's good
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 11, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 11, 2018 I liked ssss, but it had like no staying power.
Glassmouth Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 I ABSOLUTELY agree with Lykke Li being here, her album is a snoozefest
KasioKas Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Nice OP and I completely agree with the Mendes write up, I refused to listen to his album because I knew it's be a disappointment.
ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted December 11, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 11, 2018 jfc the drags it's what lykke deserves
ElleDriver Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 11 hours ago, Wicked said: DJ Khaled - No Brainer (feat. Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper & Quavo) I'm The One wasn't good in the first place, what made them think I'm the One 2.0 was gonna do something? Bieber sounds annoying, the rap verses are forgettable, the video was terrible.. I'm not sure what the goal was here. Chance the Plant Rapper claims he don't care about hits but it seems to me he's chasing them worse than Drake. Justin thinking he was doing something with those riffs/runs in the outro is probably the worst part Ella Mai - Own It When you sample the classics, you have to do them justice. Ella did not, so she made it to this list. It's so lifeless & boring I'm not sure what the point was. To get R&B heads to peep this album? Eminem - Killshot Eminem, to be blunt, hasn't made a good song in close to 10 years. Nowadays, he's busy responding to the likes to Machine Gun Kelly with bars about how he's more successful & rich. This is kinda pathetic and all shatters his image of being this guy that doesn't care for success, since it's the only thing he can mention in this song. All those celebrities on Jimmy Iovine's payola praising this when it dropped like it isn't horsesh*t Machine Gun Kelly - Rap Devil ...All that being said, this isn't much better (but it IS better than Killshot, at least), filled with commentary that has been said about Eminem the last few years on social media, but delivered poorly, this is just bad. I mean, I appreciate a diss song as much as the next person but... Still, slightly more listenable with some semi-memorable bars ("The big bad bully of the rap game can't take a ****ing joke", "I already ****ed one rappers girl this week, don't make me call Kim"), I also give some slight points for anyone going directly after Em since everyone seems to be afraid to. Too bad MGK is a terrible rapper/artist etc,. Justin Timberlake - Filthy "Freeak" is a fine song, not sure why JT tried to copy it since it's a failure. Interesting production but the rest of the song is cringeworthy; just like HT's career post FS/LS. If you're gonna quote memes maybe you should do it when they're fresh, instead of a year later. Tom MacDonald - Whiteboy lmao. R. Kelly - I Admit What was the point of releasing a 19 minute song titled 'I Admit' only for you really to not admit anything other than things we already know + disturbing fan accounts? This attempt to put a cap on the controversy with zero accountability, trying to get sympathy is annoying above everything else. 19 minutes of gaslighting is unbelievable. This is like a lost episode of The Boondocks or something, it's so absurd I'm still perplexed that it actually exists. Lyrics aside, it sounds like a type of club banger that Ty $ or another one of Roberts musical children might have made but the lyrics exist so here it is. Kodak Black - Heart Break Kodak Lykke Li - So Sad So Sexy Shawn Mendes - Shawn Mendes I don't hate Shawn Mendes at all, I mean his music isn't insufferable but you can just replace him with any other dude with a guitar who likes Ed Sheeran. He listed a lot of artists I like for this albums' influences, so I took a listen. Not sure why he was listing people like Kanye and JT when this is still boring ass guitar boy music. even Charlie Puth --whom I've dragged endlessly-- managed to show some type of evolution from basic banal ****. This is dudes third album Not sure why everyone is obsessed with him if he's delivering stuff like this. Migos - Culture II Culture was actually nice, not sure what went wrong for them to deliver this monotonous piece of garbage. Other than the immaculate Stir Fry thanks to Pharrell.... They should've scrapped this. J. Cole - KOD Another bad J. Cole album except it's worse than his previous efforts. For all the hate Sideline Story gets, it's still his best album. Let's stop calling Cole top 3. Some additional notes Scorpion isn't here because I know it's terrible, so I didn't bother listening. Same thing with Sweetener. I like YG too much to put him here but Stay Dangerous was diarrhea. SZA is still a terrible artist. Barbie Tingz is garbage. That 1975 album is bull****. Young Thug kinda fell off. Courtney Barnett is still one of the worst artists of the decade. The Weeknd has been rewriting the same song since BBTM. FJM is stale now. Childish Gambimo still only has 2 good songs, this year hasn't changed that. xo. The Good Place (NBC) @Maddox dragged it better than I could, but this season of The Good Place removed everything that made it the unique, must watch television it was in its previous two seasons. They --seemingly-- purposefully stunted the growth of the main cast to focus on Kristen Bell's character, which was such a poor choice. They made Jason into a parody of himself, removed the stakes, and turned into a pretty dull version of it's previous seasons. Not sure why its being praised when it was boring as all hell most of the time. Mayans M.C. (FX) I'm a fan of Sons of Anarchy, so of course I'd check out the prequel focusing on the Mayans MC biker gang. Well... It's not good? Structurally it follows SOA too closely to really make an impact or set its own tone, and has all the problems of the final season of SOA. That mixture is never good for a debut season. I couldn't finish the season, it was a big waste of time. Maybe I'll return to it to see if it picked up eventually. The Bobby Brown Story (BET) This foolishness after The New Edition Story was sad above everything else. Rushed, didn't make any sense & spent too much time focused on Whitney Houston. Woody was great as Bobby, and did well carrying this on his shoulders. The one thing that managed to get twitter buzzing was Bobby Brown insinuating that Janet Jackson & her family are colorist. When the most talked about thing in your biopic is another celebrity that the signs of a failure. Thirteen Reason Why (Netflix) Okay... I only watched one episode but that was enough, I ended up reading the recaps for the rest of the season and... This **** show should've been over with season one. What was the point? Drag me for being a "SJW!!1!" but displaying horrifying events in a television show with no point and directing it with the carelessness that Netflix has should be grounds for cancellation alone. Controversy at the expense of writing is the never the wave. The End of The F***ing World (Netflix) This Tumblr'd mess was cringe from beginning to end. While it was easy and rather quick to watch, I didn't like what I saw. The romantization of mentally illness is one of the worst things visual media has brought to light this decade. It doesn't help that both leads are annoying, and with no reason to care about them I never cared about the show. In typical Netflix fashion, they've renewed what was supposed to be a miniseries for a second season. I will NOT be returning because my eyeballs had enough. Additional Notes Thankfully due to lack of time, I didn't end up watching so much garbage this year! The only bad movie I actually watched this year was Venom, which doesn't even deserve a picture or write up. It sucked ass. Tom Hardy/Riz Ahmed are awesome but... Culturally, the major thing to discuss really is Trump being an embarrassment. But I think that's been beat to death. Hope all the Americans voted in November; I know I did. On top of that, this new rush of selective outrage is annoying. 95% of entertainers have worked with somebody messy (or worse) or are messy (or worse) themselves. If you're not "cancelling" everybody than calm down, don't give them any coins and keep it moving. Oh, and please stop listening to P*st M*lone. See y'all in 1-2 weeks for the official lists!! woo SEEVRAL points were made. end of the ****ing world is disgusting gimmicky trash

Remmy Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I haven't heard or seen most of the stuff on your worst lists, so that's great Filthy and Shawn Mendes are the only ones, and I can definitely understand people's complaints on JT. I think Shawn put out his best album this year but even then it's not amazing or anything.
Pink Matter Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 asfghjkl the lashings Drag them mama Songs: Of the ones I heard, I pretty much agree completely. No Brainer was def an I'm The One knockoff and it flopped accordingly! I never even bothered to entertain the Em-MGK back and forth so I'll take your word for it. Filthy "This song should be played very LOUD" ff the way he thought this would be an anthem The parent album is easily his worst and he sorely needs to come up with something new. Albums: Lykke's so sad so sexy was definitely one of the more disappointing albums I've heard this year. I had hopes for it especially since everyone raved about her only to be met with that. Others have explained to you why Shawn is a thing so I won't get into that. Honestly not sure what it is with J Cole but he rarely holds my attention for too long and KOD was no exception. ATM is cute though. I will say, 2014FHD>>>>Sideline Story and at this rate, he's not topping that album.
TRF. Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Lykke Li... ok, I can see why people would not be into this album that much and I myself think it's not her best release but like... I am really connected with the lyrics and the music and the album itself so... yeah. It's sad. Not so much sexy though.

I don't even bother dragging Charlie Puth anymore because he went from worst of all time to meh/whatever. I'm definitely open to giving artists more listens down the road if they show they're really making an effort. My tone on here comes across very stern but I'm pretty open to most unless they're continuously terrible showing no sign of improvement (e.g, SZA) 19 minutes ago, Pink Matter said: asfghjkl the lashings Drag them mama Songs: Of the ones I heard, I pretty much agree completely. You should listen to Wounded Rhymes though. Damn, I forgot about FHD It's okay from what I remember but it just aided in his hotep phase + I kind of think he's at his best when doing pop rap like on Sideline Story. This whole ~deep conceptual thing is not his bag at all.
