ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 31, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 31, 2018 Delicate grew on me, but its still to fluffy filler for me.
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 31, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 31, 2018 don't like boo'd up much... but curious, my my my, missing u... unicorn girl I-, shallow delicate is so cute
Remmy Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Delicate Started out in my reputation trinity and it's still there (at #3, behind ...RFI? + IDSB) Game Night is a really fun time. Pretty much all of the main cast did what they had to do.
Staryu Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 K just dumping the rest because I always want to start these lists and then I hate posting them by the end and I don't have graphics this year so makes it even more boring. Also just noticed I skipped movies #7 and #6 earlier jumped straight from 8 to 5 a mess. Top 10 movies that I saw in 2018: 10. Avengers Inifinity War 9. Ready Player One 8. Hereditary 7. A Simple Favor 6. Black Panther 5. Game Night 4. Incredibles 2 3. A Quiet Place This movie was really well done, it wasn't overly long, it wasn't too clichey, there was no weak link, the whole family acted great, especially Emily, even the kids were good (and normally kids annoy me). 2. Crazy Rich Asians Henry Golding is a hunk, he needs to be the next great leading man Constance Wu slays too and Michelle Yeoh is a legend (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). The movie was also really pretty to look at, so extravagant, the asians were obviously crazy rich 1. A Star is Born I'm not even a Gaga stan really but it was really well done, Gaga did great, Bradley delivered, the songs were so good The dog Charlie deserves an Oscar too I know my taste is very generic/average/predictable now on to TV shows: Top 4 TV Shows: 4. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel I'm a small town southern gay and I don't get to travel often so any show that can transport me to another place, another time especially as impressively as Mrs. Maisel, earns a high ranking on my year end list. The Catskills episode(s) really fascinated me, I had never heard of them before and the show just really immersed me into the experience. The main reason I love the show though is because of Rachel's performance, she is just so charming and practically perfect, she's the Mary Poppins of Amazon Prime, and I've been a big fan of Amy Sherman-Palladino ever since I saw Gilmore Girls and this show has the same fast talking witty magic. 3. The Good Fight Christine Baranski is a goddess, I would probably watch her do anything (except **** tbh) and bringing in Audra McDonald was an amazing decision. The show is crazy, edgy, and smart, the only real blah part is Maya Rindell's existence, she seems pointless since her season 1 storyline was resolved so quickly, but the other characters/plots/writing/guest actors/pee tape/everything else makes up for her blandness. Also, Diane doing drugs was kind of a thing I wasn't here for, half the time I couldn't tell if she was hallucinating or if the world really was that crazy (and maybe that was the point?), but I'm glad that was wrapped up before season 3 and didn't really become a huge thing. 2. The Americans Matthew and Keri are immaculate together, I will really miss seeing them on my screen together, they were perfect. The series finale was perfect as well, it left some questions but it gave us all we needed. Poor Henry being left behind poor Stan being betrayed and losing his best friend/family, poor Elizabeth losing Paige ugh, a heartbreaking finale tbh but in an unexpected way. I was not surprised by Paige's decision, I hope she linked up with Henry eventually, maybe Stan helped them both out, idk. Anyway, до свидания The Americans 1. Pose I love drag queens and drag culture and I've seen the Paris is Burning documentary and this show is incredibly accurate and respectful to drag queens and the ballroom culture. I can't say enough good things about Mj Rodriguez and Billy Porter's performances, both were full of life and heart, I loved all of the characters though, I can't believe Ryan Murphy managed to create two beautiful shows in one year without ****ing anything up. Also, I adore the 80s and the show's soundtrack was flawless, so this being my #1 show was a no brainer. and finally my top 4 songs 4. One Kiss - Dua Lipa/Calvin Harris There's just something about this song that made me addicted to it, probably the beat and how it is reminiscent of 90s techo club beats, it's just hypnotic to me. 3. High Horse - Kacey Musgraves A disco tinged country pop bop, I know Slow Burn and Space Cowboy are both excellent but this is more my sound, the type of song I can listen to any time and all the time, like Carly Rae's entire Emotion era . This song is just so smooth and easy to listen to, it's fluffy, I love fluffy, I love easy, my life goal is to be comfortable, and this is the tea. 2. no tears left to cry - Ariana Grande I feel like people started to turn on this song toward the end of the year? I've seen more hate toward/lukewarm feelings but this isn't about those negative thoughts, this is about my taste and what I like and I love this Ariana bop. It is my favorite 1st single she has released so far, it is an avant-garde bop, if only she could have kept this vibe for the rest of Sweetener. 1. Honey - Robyn This song is simple yet perfect, it's sweet yet poignant, I couldn't ask for a better successor to Dancing On My Own. No, you're not gonna get what you need But baby, I have what you want Come get your honey.
Remmy Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Kiiiii at you skipping some stuff I mean dumping 4-6 entries isn't bad, there's some people out here dropping whole long ass lists Movies: A Simple Favor didn't impress me but Blake and Anna did what they had to do for the most part. Crazy Rich Asians was a cute gorl. Black Panther nice but overrated honestly. Incredibles 2 mmm a solid sequel. A Star Is Born whew!!! We love a film that's gonna sweep the Golden Globes this weekend. Songs: Ayyy I enjoy all 4 of these I'm not necessarily in love with One Kiss/High Horse/Honey, however I still recognize that they're bopsT. no tears left to cry, a great lead single I haven't seen any random hate for it though, or at least not on here.
Lazuli Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 CRA and ASIB!!! Oh wow this top 4 songs, someone snapped I guess
TayRianaPH Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Wow at that flawless Top 4! Honey is perfect I agree, One Kiss, ntltc, High Horse makes up a concrete Top 4! Delicate so high too!
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted January 3, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted January 3, 2019 4/4 for the songs, all are amazing! YAS ASIB
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted January 3, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted January 3, 2019 Crazy Rich Asians was good , though I wouldn't put it at #2 of the films I saw this year. ASIB is good. My fave part was Gaga/Bradley's cheimstry.
potent Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Honey and High Horse I'm not particularly a fan of the other 2, but I can see how they would be liked. I hadn't seen those movies or TV shows, but A Quiet Place sounds good.
