Electricity rules here ?

I am a Kylie fan and I didn't like her new album that much :noparty:

Django Jane being so high :jonny5:

Kylie’s best 2018 song :jonny:

you snapped!!

album #29 - Chloe x Halle, The Kids Are Alright

"It breaks my heart to see you happy"

One of my biggest discovers of the year  :jonny4: The fact that Bey proteges gives us better than album than she did in 2018 :jonny4: whew! Variety of genres on album, vocal harmonies, rich arrangements makes this album amazing one hour experience. I'm rooting for this girls, they're killing it, I mean their live performances is something :jonny5: Really hope they're going to find success in future

some favorites: Everywhere, Happy Without Me, Down

jXMGIpt.jpg

.

single #29 - Azealia Banks, Anna Wintour

"Now I believe diamonds and dreams come true for girls like me"

This song is a BOP. One of my favorite bops of the year :jonny: Azealia is still a mess, but she kinda redeemed herself with this track, which has everything she can offer.

.

album #28 - James Bay, Electric Light

"No matter where I go, you're the first thing on my mind"

I didn't really was into his music before, but I decided to give him a listen this year with his new look  :-* And I'm really happy I did, Electric Light snaps from first song and keeps you interested til the end. More mainstream image and arrangement does wonder to him. He remains in his own stigma, but with fresh flow.

some favorites: Wasted on Each Other, Wild Love, Just for Tonight, Us

JSWuiIF.jpg

.

single #28 - Robyn, Missing U

"There's this empty space you left behind now you're not here with me"

We missed you too, Robyn :jonny: Amazing comeback and ode to her fans by queen of dancing alone Robyn :alexz:

.

album #27 - George Ezra, Staying at Tamara's

"You can run, you can jump, might **** it up but you can't blame yourself"

Despite ATRL hate and claiming that George is Ed clone, George remains superior :eli: 4 years after release of his debut, Staying at Tamara's serving as album of summer anthems, full-of-sunshine fun pop songs with folk vibes here and there. His chill image alone with strong voice really helps to experience that album. I'm glad he found success, even though Wanted on Voyage is still better.

some favorites: Pretty Shining People, Paradise, Shotgun

X8sHxwc.jpg

.

single #27 - Lissie, Best Days

"If the best days that I know are just in the past am I gonna last forever?"

I always liked Lissie and this year she put out one of her best work. Best Days, lead single from it, serves as great guitar-driven song with soulful vocals and honest lyrics, more mainstream than her last album, track saves her incredible touch.

I'm not a fan of this set. ?

George Ezra's album is cute tho.

Missing You :jonny4:

CxH and James Bay :heart2:

Anna Wintour has like a good verse or something, but that's about it for me :keir: Missing U, a nice bop and grower :heart2:

Electric Light :worship: James snapped again! So have you never listened to his debut? I'd check that out as well, even if you don't enjoy it all I'm sure there's some standouts you can pick out. Your favorites list is pretty good but my top 3 aren't mentioned + Wasted On Each Other is still my least favorite.

Chloe x Halle are very talented, but when they try to do more top 40 sounds I really don't like it.  It feels cheap.  When they have those experimental bops though, we want more of that!

I thought Robyn's new album was gonna suck bc of Missing U.  I like the album though but I don't like MU by itself.

album #26 - ionnalee, Everyone Afraid to Be Forgotten

"Where my silence is silver, my noise is gold"

Artist previously known as Jonna Lee, then Iamamiwhoami, now releasing another album as ionnalee. Great record with amazing reach production, but for me, her iamamiwhoami stuff remains the best, more chilling and haunting work, even tho I really love that album.

some favorites: Work, Not Human, Watches Watches, Blazing

ln6T89R.jpg

.

single #26 - James Bay, Pink Lemonade

"Let's remember all the words that we think are gonna make our hearts break"

Even tho James slayed with his new more electronic sound on Wild Love, classic rock Pink Lemonade got me shook :jonny: Uptempo rock bop gave such a nostalgia vibe for me

KNSGUl3.jpg

.

album #25 - Rae Morris, Someone Out There

"I need to wash away the hours I cried last night"

Another big discover for me in my countdown - Rae Morris got me shook with Do It last year and released almost perfect 2018 pop album this year. Simple but effective production along with her unique voice and great lyrics work absolutely amazing. I still can't believe how underrated she is  :'(

some favorites: Push Me to My Limit, Dancing with Character, Wait for the Rain

ob00G00.jpg

.

single #25 - Mitski, Nobody

"Give me one good movie kiss and I'll be alright"

Queen of songs about being alone snaps once again. Probably her most pop song to date, this track slays  :jonny: Simple, but effective lyrics with beautiful arrangement and absolutely incredible piece of art video :jonny:

eo4z1Xp.jpg

.

album #24 - Miguel, War & Leisure

"I know you sense the devilspeak on my tongue"

Probably one of my favorite current male artists right now. War & Leisure despite its title is not enterely political album,  even with most important lyrics here he's able to put it with tropical/erotic vibes without any problems. And this is probably his most deverse album as for now - there's funk, latin pop, psyhodelic rock, blues, r&b and more.

some favorites: Pineapple Skies, Banana Clip, Told You So, City of Angels

79BXEv2.jpg

.

single #24 - Paloma Faith & Sigala, Lullaby

"Will you serenade me with the song you used to play?"

When this collab was announced, I was afraid of Changing rehash, since they're rehashing Ella Eyre collabs for few years already, but thank god, this song turns out to be great. Fun catchy jam with Paloma's flawless vocals remains in my playlist for such a long time  :jonny:
