ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 12, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 12, 2018 great lists so far... girls nights out being so low smh. I didn't like betty much but I'm hype for the album next year still
lhdang2000 Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Supplies' bridge is one of the best things on MOTW. The song as a whole? It's a no from me.
lhdang2000 Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Idk why ATRL won't let me edit my comment, but that graphic is amazing.
theblackestday Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I've already said this but your graphics are IT. Not a fan of any of the songs though GNO is cute
potent Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Supplies is cute although it didn’t make it to my list. Other stuff I don’t really know, although a couple Madison Beer songs are pretty catchy.
Remmy Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Albums: Betty's EP deserves better! FLM is easily my least fave though. The Other Side deserves recognition, agree! Singles: Girls Night Out is great Supplies is definitely the worst from Man of the Woods, no competition
thecptz Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 atletico, sucker punch, gtfo, and overtime happy that they got the HMs tho girls night out is cute but it's not my favorite release from xbox this year
Staryu Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 I loveeee your banner collage of artists, I really wanted to do something like that for my thread this year but I'm just too lazy/unmotivated Natural Woman RIP Miss Aretha and yas Eastside is a bop
K$Ellie Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Lily dominating the recurrents The Fear and Not Fair are both bops Do It is a cute sing too Dangerous Woman on the album list Level Up, Atletico and Golden Child are nice but I don't mind that they didn't make the cut GTFO is probs my least fave on Caution Eastside As She Pleases was... fine, but I loooove Fools Girls Night Out is a bop Supplies was one of the better songs on Man Of The Woods
TheWayWeWere Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 (edited) . album #47 - RAY BLK, Empress Quote "When a woman knows her worth, she waits for someone she deserve" I discovered this girl last year when I saw her on BBC's Sound of 2017 list. I listened to her first EP, and even tho My Hood was great, it didn't really touch me. This project on the other side is just what I want from her - brit pop mixed with some r&b influences suits her voice so much. Maybe she needs more hip-hop numbers on it, but I love how honest she is in her image and lyrics. I really hope she gets some recognition with the general audience. some favorites: Run Run, Mama, Empress (original TU,N tbh) . single #47 - Betty Who, Ignore Me Quote "Don't forget that you're the one who walked out of my life" I've already written my thought on Betty yesterday, but let me say that this is the best song she put out this year. It has replay value, it's very catchy and very suits her voice. I think carefree light bops like that is something she should stick up with. And her dancing videos are the best (this + Mama Say >>>) . album #46 - Florence + the Machine, High as Hope Quote "I couldn't hide from the thunder in a sky full of song" To be honest, I didn't have too much to say about this album. I've been a fan of everything Flo puts out since the very beginning, but this is not the tea. Boring, the lifeless experience remains as very painfully 40 minutes of my life (not because it's so bad, but because I was so disappointed). I just hope it's a little misstep and she will continue to masterpieces she used to do. some favorites: Sky Full of Song, 100 Years, The End of Love . single #46 - Lana Del Rey, Venice Bitch Quote "Callin' out, bang bang, kiss kiss" Lana proviving another time that she's the best in her circle. Not so many times I can listen to the 10-minute song on repeat, but this is perfect. I love changing keys and different parts of the song, basically, every listen is a low-key new experience for you. If only she would've got this song Ride MV treatment Really excited for her next album. . album #45 - Монеточка, Раскраски для взрослых Quote "If only I got paid every time I think about you / Если б мне платили каждый раз, Каждый раз, когда я думаю о тебе" Welp, I know almost none of y'all will know her or smth, but this russian girl got me shook. She started a couple years ago as a soundcloud singer but ending up smashing this year with that album. I like her unusual voice, persona, smart lyrics. The album is very psychedelic-pop/dream-pop. some favorites: Russian Ark (Русский ковчег), Every Time (Каждый раз), Нимфоманка (Nymphomaniac) . single #45 - SZA, Broken Clocks Quote "I moved on for the better, you moved on to whoever" There's no secret I'm into SZA since she gets #1 album in my previous BO. CTRL remains masterpiece, but I low-key didn't really notice this song until single release. This sultry r&b jam is GOLD, camp-related MV elevates this to the next level. lhdang2000 Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 I'm not a fan of this update. High as Hope was cute tho. Perched for the next set.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 No one expected a near 10 minute prog pop song from Lana this year.
