mokitsu Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 ionnalee's album aged like milk for me war & leisure was ok but wildheart > lullaby is good omg wtf i listened to it all summer on the radio / coffee stores but didn't know paloma sang it, guess she's not a one hit wonder after all
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 20, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 20, 2018 Oh your picks for Ionna's are correct! Nobody is surprisingly low. I thought she was gonna be in everyone's top 10.
Blue Rose Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Pink Lemonade is cute. mitski, Miguel and Rae Morris all delivered great albums. Miguel was definitely top20 of 2017 despite releasing in December.
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 20, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 20, 2018 Chloe x Halle are amazing
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 20, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 20, 2018 ionnalee's album was pretty good someone out there really loved the album nobody
World Eater Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Nobody Few points have been made by Miguel as well
fossora Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 EATBF (altough it did got forgotten ) NOBODY WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW (deserved higher tho imo)
Tom Vercetti Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 War & Leisure is probably my least favorite from him but you can't say he's a one-trick pony. Everyone seems to love Nobody x36
potent Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Pink Lemonade such a bop, I honestly didn't expect something so great from him this year Missing U is great too!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 . album #23 - Toni Braxton, Sex & Cigarettes "Boy, you must be suicidal, Is that bitch right there beside you?" On her first solo album in 8 (!!) years queen Toni goes to her roots adding fresh sound. Album represents everything she does the best - classic r&b ballads, soulful jams, sexy anthems and even dancefloor killers. A pretty great diverse album full of one of her best material in many years. some favorites: Long As I Live, Coping, Missin', Deadwood . single #23 - Demi Lovato & Clean Bandit, Solo "Since you been gone I've been dancing on my own" This is the epitome of perfect summer track! A lighthearted fun pop song about masturbating kinda messy, yeah, but in a good way - I love how low-toned it is and the melody is perfect with Demi vocals . album #22 - Robyn, Honey "If you got something to say, say it right away" Y'all know, sometimes waiting 8 years for only 9 tracks can be worthy. And this is the case. Robyn waited for so long for releasing one of her most cohesive and smart work ever, yeah, maybe it's not having same unstoppable energy of BT or catchiness of self-titled, but it works on its own. Just as the title says, it's basically honey for your years. The smooth, chill, pleasant sound of every song give you such a sweet pleasure from listening. Probably would've placed much higher if it was released earlier. some favorites: Because It's in the Music, Baby Forgive Me, Send to Robin Immediately, Ever Again . single #22 - Lily Allen, Lost My Mind "I was never planning on any of this chaos" I probably would've chosen Higher as 2nd single, since it's been my jam since day 1, but Lost My Mind remains amazing. Smart pop song. This midtempo pop bop about a difficult relationship is one of the best pop efforts she did in years. . album #21 - Rita Ora, Phoenix "Looking for connection in a crowd of empty faces" Just a few years ago I would've probably never believed that fashion mogul Rita Ora will release one of the most strong pop albums of the year, but we're in 2018 and she did. After a bunch of solid pop singles since last years and few missteps (I see you, Girls), she finally was able to put out her full- length effort. Phoenix is full of perfectly crafted pop songs with flawless production and great hooks. And even some old ones still sounds pretty fresh one year and more. Still pretty mad how the UK mistreated her This would've probably made top 5/top 10 if it had more time before the deadline some favorites: Only Want You, New Look, Cashmere, Falling to Pieces . single #21 - Tove Styrke, On The Low "Maybe I've been spending way too many nights with you" This girl caught my attention last year and I still can't get over her :jonny: This year she released few pop perfection jams, one of them - On the Low. Light-toned chill jam with repetitive hook and chorus remains in my mind for a long time. Still hate her for not providing this with proper MV.

Remmy Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Lost My Mind is alright. On the Low mmm Solo A great-great-great bop! Honey is a decent album, only really enjoy 5/9 tracks. 2 of them (BIITM + EA) are in your faves
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 21, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 21, 2018 Honey being around the same spot for you. Glad you agree Ever Again is one of the standouts. I really liked Tove Stryke's songs a few years ago but her new album and new songs completely bore me Debating on whether or not to listen to Phoenix but your description made me wanna at least try it.
Blue Rose Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Honey deserved top10 Happy to see Rita getting some love. Atrl sleeps on her music
