Robyn and Toni's last albums were really good.

I still haven't checked Rita's last album in full but liked most of the singles.

Solo and Lost My Mind  :clap3:

sorry for really late update, but I was sick last night :dancehall:

.

album #20 - Christina Aguilera, Liberation

"All the youth in the world will not save you from growing older"

Christina's Lotus is still some kind of a nightmare to me :skull: Still can't believe that album and era happened, but this year she came back with probably one of her best material in years. She's confident, strong, still nailed vocal parts. Fresh sound does wonder to her. Surprisingly good pop record with some good collabs.
some favorites: Deserve, Like I Do, Maria, Pipe

.

single #20 - Lykke Li, hard rain

"We shouldn't have to work so hard to break this wave in our way"

Even tho I love her trap bops from SSS, that cinematic track creates pure magic :jonny4:

.

album #19 - Christine and the Queens, Chris

"People politely smile to make sure I won't come any closer"

I've been a fan of Christine since 2012 when I first heard her EP Mac Abbey, so it's been such a great experience to look at her growing success, performance skills, confidence, artist grow. She's ultimately talented and this album proves this for another time. A double english/french concept album with her alter ego Chris in the priority showcases one of the best pop records of the year: fresh sound, smart lyrics, her voice and repetitive hooks.
some favorites: Comme si on s’aimait, La marcheuse, Damn (what must a woman do), Bruce est dans le brouillard

.

single #19 - Camila Cabello, Never Be the Same

"I'm a sucker for the way that you move"

Fan or hater, you can't deny this track is catchy as ****  :jonny: CaCa did that with that pop jam! And pretty glad this became a success when rap dominated top 10.

.

album #18 - Anne-Marie, Speak Your Mind

"We are all animals and we know that it's alright"

I know everyone dragging this girl this year pretty hard  :skull: Tbh still don't really get why, I mean, yeah, her releases last year were more promising than final product and yeah, she became kinda cringy this year, but she still releasing pretty good pop music, SYM is full of pop bops. Of course there's some fillers here and there, mostly because album came out after such a long wait and contains many of her strong singles already.

some favorites: Bad Girlfriend, Can I Get Your Number, Breathing Fire

dcJlpVY.jpg

.

single #18 - MØ, Nostalgia

"Come and grab my hand, honey, don't you wanna be wild with me?"

Nostalgic bop was such a grower to me, I don't really like it at first, but it grows on me after the absolutely adorable lyric video came out. She basically stole my heart with it :jonny4:

.

album #17 - Camila Cabello, Camila

"You can strip down without showing skin"

Even tho I saw her pretty annoying in 5H, she opens the new side of herself for me after going solo, her debut is a pretty strong pop record with lacking bangers or hits, but having many great classic pop tracks.

some favorites: In the Dark, Into It, All These Years

p4eS6Bl.jpg

.

single #17 - Ariana Grande, breathin

"Just keep breathin' and breathin' and breathin' and breathin"

Ms. Grande got me shook this year with the amount of pop amazingness she released this year, this track was stand-out for me since first album listening and I can't believe this bitch hate this  :skull: Absolutely flawless track with a great message and beautiful instrumental that captivates 'breathin' feeling.

.

album #16 - MØ, Forever Neverland

"Let me out, I’m trapped in a blur"

Long-awaited 2nd album by swedish queen of bops finally arrived this year and even with big expectations, she succeed them  :clap3: Album is full of sad bops, dancefloor anthems, big choruses and catchy hooks. Without changing her nature, she records one of the most impressive pop albums of the year.

some favorites: I Want You, Blur, If It's Over, Purple Like the Summer Rain

YDewE6z.jpg

.

single #16 - Halsey, Without Me

"Tell me how's it feel sittin' up there "

The future queen of bops snapped once again. Without any expectations, this track turns out to be flawless pop bop with a great hook, good lyrics and catchy chorus. Very glad for its success!

Liberation :alexz3: Would be significantly better without Accelerate but oh well. It's pretty good, and the middle of the tracklist is especially solid - Like I Do and Deserve being in your favorites :date:

edit: Oh you added more. Nostalgia and breathin :smitten: Forever Neverland :alexz3: Pretty nice set of faves, too

Honey being around the same spot for you.  Glad you agree Ever Again is one of the standouts.

I really liked Tove Stryke's songs a few years ago but her new album and new songs completely bore me :doc:

Debating on whether or not to listen to Phoenix but your description made me wanna at least try it.
