Labrinth, Sia, Diplo present LSD

"Mountains" (EP)

nqhph.jpg

So basically I needed a tenth "album" to complete this countdown so I chose this very small EP.

I absolutely love the songs these three create together, they're absolutely amazing.

They blend perfect pop choruses with production that sends you on a simulated drug-induced trip.

I'm really looking forward for their full-length album that hopefully comes out sooner than later.

Fleetwood Mac

"Rumours"

I've always loved Fleetwood Mac so much -- growing up my parents would always play their music.

This year I made the impulsive decision to purchase a record player, and the first vinyl I bought was this record.

Safe to say I played this classic on repeat.

"Dreams"

"Never Going Back Again"

"Don't Stop"

"Go Your Own Way"

"The Chain"

"You Make Loving Fun"

"Trench"

TOP came back with a pretty solid effort in 2018.

Although I prefer "Blurryface" to this, I do think that this is a pretty decent pop-rock/alternative record.

I'm surprised they haven't been seeing as much success as they did in 2016, though.

"Nico And The Niners"

"My Blood"

"The Hype"

Ah, my #1 album of 2017 makes a return on this year's countdown.

Although I'm craving a brand new Dua record, I was so happy that she released some new songs to hold us over.

I genuinely love every single new song that was featured on this re-release.

Ariana Grande

"Sweetener"

2mzbqd3.jpg

Not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed with this album.

I mean Ari delivered bop after bop with NTLTC and GIAW, but then the album came and I was like ugh.

I just feel like the Pharrell production was not the tea.

Anyway, I do think there are some gems on this record.

Hopefully Thank U, Next serves this year!

Oh I didn't know LSD put out an EP, but I already heard all of them except for the title track. Out of the main 3, I only cared for Thunderclouds anyway. Dua Lipa is a solid album, the 3 new tracks are kinda useless but at least Running is decent. Yes at you being on the winning side (aka #TeamMax) for Sweetener :clap3: Trench is a good one :heart2: I've likely heard Rumours in full when I was young but 2018 was the first time I heard it all on my own and stuff, the singles are classics of course, and we share the same 2 least favorites.

Dreams, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, My Blood, The Hype, Jumpsuit, Genesis, New Rules, Begging, Electricity, God is a woman, no tears left to cry, breathin, everytime getting some love :smitten: Levitate + Room for 2 deserve better

Rita Ora

"Phoenix"

2e0pgmu.jpg

I was so thrilled that Rita finally released her long-awaited sophomore album this year.

And I'm happy she didn't face the dreaded "sophomore slump" either.

She delivered a pretty solid pop album that I can't stop listening to.

"Let You Love Me"

"Lonely Together"

"Your Song"

"Only Want You"

"For You"

"Girls"

Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper

"A Star Is Born" (Soundtrack)

10clwd2.jpg

Although this is not a conventional Gaga record, it still managed to blow me away.

Gaga and Bradley have such great chemistry and that truly shows in both their acting & singing.

This album serves heart-breaking ballads along with some pop bops that are reminiscent of old-school Gaga.

Look out yall cuz ASIB is going to become a pop culture classic in both film and music.

Fave Track(s)

"Shallow"

"Always Remember Us This Way"

"Hair Body Face"

"I'll Never Love Again"

"Why Did You Do That?"

Least Fave Track(s)

"La Vie En Rose"

"Heal Me"

"Forever Neverland"

2en2rro.jpg

MØ has always been one of my favorite artists of the past few years so to say I was excited for this record was an understatement.

MØ honestly didn't disappoint with this record, although it has its highs and lows, she still served amazing bops.

I think she's still severely underrated and people don't show her enough love.

Fave Track(s)

"I Want You"

"Blur"
"Sun In Our Eyes"

"Mercy"
"Beautiful Wreck"

"Imaginary Friend"

5 Seconds of Summer

"Youngblood"

ngau7p.png

If you told me that 5SOS would be #2 on my year-end album countdown I would've called u a liar.

I've always liked their music, but just saw them as an edgier One Direction.

However, this album took me by shock -- It's amazing!!! They really served a very good pop record.

You can also hear the immense growth in their music since their last record.

Fave Track(s)

"Want You Back"

"Youngblood"

"Moving Along"

"If Walls Could Talk"

"Better Man"

"Monster Among Men"

Anne-Marie

"Speak Your Mind"

16tdsz.jpg

There's absolutely no denying that Anne-Marie was my "It Girl" of 2018.

I think this is a pretty solid debut record, full of bops that I found myself listening to all year long.

I love how you can really hear her accent when she sings - it gives her song this special touch.

I really wish people weren't so critical of her.

Fave Track(s)

"Cry"

"Ciao Adios"

"Alarm"

"Trigger"

"FRIENDS"

"Bad Girlfriend"

"2002"

"Machine"

"Some People"

"Breathing Fire"

Rita  &  ASIB :date2:

Rita caught my attention with the megabop Anywhere, plus Girls was cute, but the rest didn't make me want to listen to the album :michael: Anne-Marie getting the top spot ahead of 3 more deserving releases :tsk: Forever Neverland :heart2: ASIB OST + Youngblood :date: Wow your Fave Tracks for Gaga/Bradley would've been on point if you swapped WDYDT? for Heal Me
