ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 29, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 29, 2018 Doesn't Matter and girlfriend so close to the top 10 GF is better. Bloom is a great choice, Troye's best song.
Vilppu Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Troye Sivan is on top it's just not realistic
Tom Vercetti Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 The Christine 1-2 punch Bloom is certainly troye's highlight (implying he has no other songs left charting)
potent Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Wow 14-11 is a slay I think Girlfriend should've made the top 10 though
Jet Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Django Jane, one of the MANY highlights from Dirty Computer

Blue Rose Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) I love how the avalanche of Electronic beats and layers follow a traditional Pop song structure. The attention to details is meticulous. Every synth riff and every piano note are carefully placed. The timing of the drums and bass is rigorous. That, with the expressive vocals and sweet melodies create a cathartic experience. His androgynous voice adds mystery. The minimalism adds intimacy. The sensuality adds romanticism. Who woulda thunk that a Canadian, based in Germany, would pen the most exquisite R&B song of the year? Malcom channels his inner mad scientist to create a catchy, bouncy and euphoric track about substance abuse and heartache. This masterpiece is painted with sparkling synths from Christine And The Queens collaborator Dam Fuk, a super creative bass from Thundercat, background vocals from Syd and adlibs from Snoop Dogg. I’ve been obsessed since day one. We truly lost a huge and underrated talent. “Send To Robin Immediately” is the subject of the email super producer Kindness (Solange Knowles) sent to Robyn with the demo of this track. This sense of urgency is apparent throughout the song. The gospel tinged lyrics are a call to live and love to the fullest because tomorrow is not guaranteed. In the context of the album, Robyn has already confessed her mistakes and begged for forgiveness, this is that moment when she’s urging her ex-lover to give her an answer because waiting is also very painful. The electronic production is not groundbreaking but it is sensational and majestic. Edited December 29, 2018 by Superpower
Blue Rose Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) The hype over his previous album was annoying. I know it was deserved because I’ve been a fan of him for years and even saw him live. It was an out of body experience. It was wonderful. I just hated the way most dismissed everything he had done before and even with Singularity, people act like it’s only his second album. But I can see why: because this longtime Coldplay (hehe) collaborator has embraced harder beats, Techno styles punches without losing his ability to create fragile and sweet soundscapes few galaxies away, as Emerald Rush brilliantly demonstrates. The song is an intense and immersive experience that splendidly builds up to one of the most magnificent drops of the year. The song layers and textures evolve, multiply and explode, everything collectively creating a blissful and satisfying climax. Over a rich and soft wrap of gorgeous piano and guitar riffs, heart-twisting strings and drum beats that accentuate every melody (and I boldly say that this is her most melodious song), Lana Del Rey returns to her glorious peak. But long gone are her days of being a damsel in distress. She’s now a strong and fearless woman fully aware of her imperfections and of what she wants and deserves. Mariners Apartment Complex is full of Pop culture references from Elton John to Leonard Cohen whose “I’m Your Man” (which is exactly Mariners’ refrain) feels like it was built inside this track. Cohen’s seductive song goes “If you want a lover, I’ll do anything you ask me to.” Lana knows she “fcked up” but she asks for forgiveness and is ready to give you everything in return. She presents a strong case and only a fool would turn her down. Stirring violins open “The End Of Love” like a sinister eulogy. Over a sharp piano Florence’s voice comes in with gorgeously textured harmonies, unfolding elegantly as she details a finished relationship with bittersweet recollections. She breaks the fourth wall in the first verse, immediately connecting the listener to the song. The love was hopeless and Florence was at peace letting it fade away.
