Pink Matter Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Didn't really care for the new Brockhampton album but it had a few highlights. J'OUVERT being one of them. Disclosure, Teyana, Rina, Majid, and Christine are all great! I'm gonna give Sasami a listen based off your recommendation Also: 38 minutes ago, thirdward said: crazy how brockhampton gave us that weak album after saturation 3, maybe they need ameer i gave up on majid jordan blowing up when the weeknd stole all I do and made CFMF and when make it work (best song of 2016) flopped ? i don’t like doesn’t matter but christine (song) is a classic I didn't want to be the one to say it but
potent Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Party for One is a grower, Doesn't Matter a bop I should've given Cherry a better listen this year, I think it sounded good from what I remember.
MP2K Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I'm going to try J'OUVERT again. It was just not as good as SAT 1-3 or the stand alone singles and I'm upset about that.
Lazuli Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 BROCKHAMPTON Cherry was ok I guess Doesn't matter is such an immense bop! Party For One
Mark Rih Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 All Over You glad to see it well into you top 100! Cherry is Rina's best song this year I agree, love the throwback vibe it has Love Can Be So Hard is also great

Tom Vercetti Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 65. The Internet - Roll (Burbank Funk) (Neo-soul) More of the same but hey don't fix what's not broke, especially when it's a standout on an album that sounds like it's on autopilot. Spoiler 64. Kacey Musgraves - High Horse (Dance-Pop/Country Pop) This makes Kylie's Golden era obsolete. Call me basic but her upbeat pop stuff > those slow tracks. I know it's cool for some to hate on the more pop fluff but if there's one thing I had to go back to from her it's this. While I usually hate modern country pop, this ain't bad. Giddy-Up. Spoiler 63. Haru Nemuri - narashite (J-Pop/Noise Rock) Distortion! Distortion! Distortion! What a fun song. The instrumental caught my attention from the start. Spoiler 62. Noname ft Smino and Saba - Ace (Conscious Hip Hop) The Chicago Trifecta at work. Chance The Rapper wasn't invited for some reason. Spoiler 61. Denzel Curry ft JPEGMAFIA & Zillakami - Vengeance (Trap Rap) One of the few non bitch-made tracks from taboo. The downfall compared to last year is saddening. Spoiler 60. Route 8 - Turning Point (Deep House/Breakbeat) If you like modernized breakbeat w/ house then this for you (and me). Spoiler 59. Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Everyone Acts Crazy Nowadays (Disco/Neo-Psychedelia) I liked their fuzz rock take but I like classic disco poppy things from them even more. Spoiler 58. Young Fathers - Border Girl (Indietronica/Neo-Soul) Best single cover... ever! Spoiler 57. Ludwig A.F. Röhrscheid - Velocity (Ambient House/Breakbeat) Very wavey and an early year house highlight. Spoiler 56. Kurt Vile - Loading Zones (Folk Rock/Country Rock) I love Kurt Vile. If I ever smoked I would go out on a smoke break with him and just chill in the inner city. Spoiler 55. Kero Kero Bonito - Only Acting (Noise Pop) Those forced noise sections and twitchy elements shouldn't really work when fused with a twee pop song but for me it does, and it makes it all the more memorable. Spoiler 54. Anna Von Hausswolff - The Truth. The Glow, The Fall (Neoclassical Darkwave/Ethereal Wave) Those vocals in the last 2 minutes of this song Giving Mariah a run for her money. Spoiler 53. Parquet Courts - Total Football (Art Punk/Indie Rock) Rebels. Teachers. Strikers. Sweepers. Better. Protected. Whenever. Collected. Spoiler 52. Tim Hecker - In mother earth phase (Ambient) There's a lot of layered orchestral moments along with glitchy sequences that reminds me of his last decade material. With all of those put together it creates an emotional feat. Spoiler 51. Jenny Hval - Spells (Art Pop/Progressive Pop) It puts a spell on the listener since her voice is so captivating! Spoiler

ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 24, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 24, 2018 I definitely prefer Kacey's slower songs, but HH is a bop
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 24, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 24, 2018 High Horse
thirdward Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 you’re def right about the internet whoring that sound out but the highlight from the album for me is it’s gets better (with time) - high horse is... not bad
Blue Rose Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Border Girl and High Horse are two amazing tracks. I haven’t listened to Noname since the weekend her album came out.
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 24, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 24, 2018 high horse Ace . Chance is a fad and Noname knows that

potent Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I feel basic but High Horse is the only one I know from this set, it's a masterpiece though
Eeveelution Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Yee haw @ High Horse ? Haru ❤️ a highlight for sure. LOVE the Young Fathers artwork this era. Only acting ahead of its time indeed.
Remmy Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 High Horse yeeehaw! The first song I heard from Golden Hour earlier in the year, and it's what made me stay away from the album. Now I recognize it as a bop but the verses >> chorus. Plus I actually prefer her slower tracks, which I wasn't really expecting.
volition Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 not a huge fan of high horse but i like the rest! i love seeing occasional overlap cuz it reaffirms my choices, so obviously i love those songs. also the truth the glow the fall is a religious experience. and total football and narashite are amazing ofc.
Bubble Tea Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 I don't know these sorry - but a great, extensive rate.
