Lazuli Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Melody and Vince Quote What's with him and Paak releasing these kind of projects dead ass near winter. nnn now that I realised it
Glassmouth Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I'm always discovering bops with you, oh wow, that Lou song is kind of a jam, lemme listen to Koto and YAS at DJ Koze and Melody's stanning
TheWayWeWere Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 ASAP Rocky has some pretty great tracks on last album DR is one of them
Tom Vercetti Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 Spoiler 13 hours ago, MP2K said: Distorted Records was a decent opener I guess, could have packed a little more punch though FLS is a bop/vibe but Vince is really spitting, people don't understand The live version of it was kinda hype at the beginning. 13 hours ago, DAP said: Distorted Records is fine enough, the only Testing track I remember in fact. Rocky spending 3 years on a largley forgettable album. Lemme throw him in the trash bin with Thugger King Vince stays smashing the game (even though admittedly, FM is my least favorite album from him, but nonetheless is good) Honestly Asap peaked with his mixtape. His albums were never all that. 12 hours ago, Pink Matter said: Distorted Records, Talk Is Cheap, Pick Up, and Feels Like Summer All this messy Testing shade being flung in here though I can't wait for y'all to look back at what I've been preaching, and praying, and saying when this becomes a cult classic in 10 years. We'll see how that goes. 12 hours ago, volition said: not on mine in fact it's one of the best things i've heard all year, so in my mind this is the best of the set melody, gang gang dance, idles, tommy, voidz I like that hint 10 hours ago, Lazuli said: Melody and Vince nnn now that I realised it it's like their sabotaging the mood of their albums. 3 hours ago, Glassmouth said: I'm always discovering bops with you, oh wow, that Lou song is kind of a jam, lemme listen to Koto and YAS at DJ Koze and Melody's stanning lou coming for 2019 domination. 2 hours ago, TheWayWeWere said: ASAP Rocky has some pretty great tracks on last album DR is one of them thanks for the feedback~ Updating another set rn,
Tom Vercetti Posted December 23, 2018 Author Posted December 23, 2018 80. Brockhampton - J'OUVERT ('Hardcore' Hip Hop) I don't really care for the Fads Of 2017 anymore but Joba and Merilyn makes some points along the beat switches. Spoiler 79. Sasami - Not The Time (Shoegaze/Dream Pop) Recommended for fans of Cherry Glazerr and Shoegaze/Indie Rock pairings. Spoiler 78. Free Love - Pushing Too Hard (Synthpop) A touch of italo-disco + retro pop. I just found out they had an ep but no1curred. Spoiler 77. Ecco2k - AAA Powerline (Alternative R&B/UK Bass) Produced by Yves Tumor under a pseudonym, this is a sneak peek of the future. Spoiler 76. Mid-Air Thief - These Chains 쇠사슬 (Folktronica/Neo-Psychedelia) Don't know what he sang but the song sounds beautiful. Spoiler 75. Disclosure - Love Can Be So Hard (Future Funk) 'Future Funk' can be a mixed bag. It can come off as either stimulating or really cheap. For current disclosure however, this is on the good side. Have they been listening to Saint Pepsi? Spoiler 74. Oneohtrix Point Never - We'll Take It (Progressive Electronic/IDM) The usage of clunky industrial machinery effects combined with the whirling electro-synth builds up to a captivating listen for me. Spoiler 73. Christine and The Queens - Doesn't Matter (Synthpop/Dance Pop) A synth bop. Spoiler 72. Teyana Taylor - Rose In Harlem (Contemporary R&B/Neo Soul) I love her singing here. I only listen to singers.gif Spoiler 71. Aphex Twin - T69 Collapse (IDM) epileptic warning for both the song + video. Spoiler 70. Halo Acid - Gemini (UK Garage/Ambient House) A description for this would be something like a rainy late night london drifting. also has one of the best cover arts of the year. Spoiler 69. Majid Jordan - All Over You (Contemporary R&B) I always try to root for this OVO pair because they always had the most potential out of the roster and they can come up with some fire material. They should be bigger than they are but for some reason the gp isn't clicking with them. Spoiler 68. Carly Rae Jepsen - Party For One (Electropop/Synthpop) Oh carly, we meet again. I know this song had some minor backlash but I think she needs to break away from the 80s worship stuff that's hailed as the "modern pop bible" sometime. Here's her attempt at that. I wasn't completely on board first but it grew since then. Spoiler 67. Rina Sawayama - Cherry (Synthpop) The best out the three singles she released, which coincidentally was the one produced by her wingman, Clarence Clarity. Spoiler 66. Death Grips - Death Grips Is Online (Experimental Hip Hop/Abstract Hip Hop) The title was basically promo for their album. No matter how great or mid their albums are, their openers are always good imo. Expect noise and other things. Spoiler x
World Eater Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Screaming at "'experimental' hip hop" Distorted Records was alright, but then again, I didn't care much for Testing. It had a few good tracks tho. Colossus, Lotus, X-Ray, Pick Up and Session Add

ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 23, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 23, 2018 I had no idea Free Love had an EP, i just heard their double a side where both songs are excellent. Who even are they? their name makes it hard to search for them. Cherry and PFO are surprisingly high for me. A Rose in Harlem, Doesn't Matter, Love Can be So Hard, T69 omg. This is a good set.
ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted December 23, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 23, 2018 J'OUVERT personally didn't find it to be an iridescence highlight but still enjoyed it my favourite of disclosure's singles this year was definitely the first one. glad they're moving away from the Caracal sound Doesn't matter is beautiful Chris is such a confident album but DM is a lovely moment of vulnerability A Rose in Harlem is one of maybe two or three memorable tracks from KTSE (but i still forgot it when i was making my list ) Party for One was very mediocre for me. i wasn't compelled to relisten Cherry also didn't wow me but then again nothing of Rina's has this year

Remmy Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Party for One The gays may not be completely satisfied but I am. A bop's a bop, even if it's not that original or anything.
Wicked Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I think Party For One is perfectly fine for what it is honestly lol didn't get the weird reception. CRJ outsold Grimes as per usual huh? Teyana, OPN, Rina, DG, Sasami
