ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 18, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2018 I'm not a fan of Poppy's vocals, but Diplo did that with the production of Time Is Up!
World Eater Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 wasn't aware (or I forgot, I can't even tell) of that Everything Everything EP symbol, Talking Straight, Catch It and Charcoal Baby
Mark Rih Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Wait at New Light I never cared about him but that song is absolutely great. Bloom is ok but his vocie is just meh to me.
Glassmouth Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 gotta admit Time is Up is basic but super enjoyable, also lemme listen to some of the ones I didn't know from this batch, I love discovering talent Bloom? Mmm...
prézli Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Woah, I know 3 songs in this bunch. It's a record so far.
Dom Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 YASS AT Poppy, legend still hustling and getting to work with big producers like Diplo. and here she is getting a place in your top, she be doing smth right then.

I have to listen to that song featuring Kacey Musgraves, I really loved her album this year. The song isn't really country but Kacey fits will in it. 14 hours ago, Pink Matter said: Surprised at Charcoal Baby being so low . Can always count on surprises from you Cops Shot The Kid was also one of the few songs that stood out in a good way to me too. Headstone is a knock. Great homage to hip-hop's classics Gotta keep folks on the toes. Agree on the rest. 9 hours ago, theblackestday said: Yeah, CSTK was pretty much the only memorable song from Nasir, even though I didn't think the album is as bad as everyone else did Catch It is the best song here It's more forgettable than bad. 9 hours ago, Sbbmsve said: Glad that Bloom got recognition from you Bottom version of Teenage Dream. Charcoal Baby was such a good single, I hoped that album would sound like that and Jewelery. Tom Vercetti Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 140. Westerman - Confirmation (Indietronica/Dream Pop) I've seen some Arthur Russel comparisons with this song and I can see it. There's an aura about it that I adore. Spoiler 139. Choker - Daisy (Alternative R&B/Art Pop) The endless amount of Frank Ocean comparisons Choker was receiving made me check his album out and boy were they accurate. My pick from him was the closer, Daisy, which sounds like it could be a B-side to Blonde. Spoiler 138. MorMor - Heaven's Only Wishful (Indie Pop/Synthpop) MorMor's smooth breakout song. When I heard it early in the year I thought he was going somewhere. Spoiler 137. Objekt - 35 (IDM/UK Bass) Moments of this song reminds me of Radiohead's Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors. Spoiler 136. Pristin V - Get It (K-Pop/Electropop) Out of the two singles they released simultaneously, Get It had the hit factor. Spoiler 135. RP Boo - U Don't No (Footwork/Juke) Footwork is a genre that i'm not yet experienced with, however RP BOO who is generally revered in the genre is advanced at taking vocal samples and mixing it so well with the beat. Spoiler 134. Natalie Prass - Short Court Style (Sophisti-Pop/Pop Soul) I'm not really into her music that much but Short Court Style was surprisingly melodious. It's a good thing she made this her lead single. Spoiler 133. Kraus - Bum (Shoegaze/Noise Pop) *Listens to My Bloody Valentine once* Spoiler 132. Topdown Dialetic - B4 (Dub Techno/Minimal Techno) Google Dubtechno Now. Spoiler 131. Abul Mogard - Upon The Smallish Circulation (Ambient) 11 minutes of floating cloud sound. Spoiler 130. Vorso - The Imperative (Drum and Bass) The drops and aggressiveness Spoiler 129. Empress Of - Everything To Me (Electropop/Synthpop) When I'm With Him may be the popular choice but Everything To Me is the most appealing one for me production wise. Dev Hyne's backing vocals are also a nice touch. Spoiler 128. J.I.D - 151 Rum (Trap Rap/Hardcore Hip Hop) Honestly he has one of the better flows in the new gen. Spoiler 127. Richard Devine - Astra (IDM/Glitch) If current Autechre had some form of glitchy melody. Spoiler 126. Paolo Di Nicolantonio - Close To Me (Deep House) A hidden house gem. The only song with this particular title worth noticing this year. Spoiler
Eeveelution Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Short Court is nice, but the album has better songs imo

TheWayWeWere Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I tried Empress Of, but didn't like her album too much besides few tracks
theblackestday Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Haven't heard of Choker but that artwork is blatantly Frank Ocean'd so can't say I'm surprised. Natalie Prass is annoyingly bland to me even though her album wasn't bad from what I recall of my one listen of it. Had that Abul Mogard album saved in my library for a few good months but never got around to it I've kinda given up at this point.

potent Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I'm honestly not familiar with these, but Empress Of sounds interesting, I've seen her getting a lot of acclaim lately.

From the production to the small vocal pitches. Natalie's last album bored me but she got slightly more uptempo. Tbh. abul's album isn't really essential. 3 hours ago, Superpower said: Its parent album was a cute girl. I expected more from her. But I haven’t given up on her yet. volition Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 mess even the songs i know here were from albums i didn't listen to but i won't waste the opportunity to check them out
Wicked Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Empress Of doesn't stick for me, not sure why. I'll check out the ones I don't know tho, here for bleep bloop music.
Pink Matter Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Yeah when I saw the Frank O comparisons I was shocked at how accurate they were really makes it hard to listen to him (or at least that respective album). Daisy is cute but there was another song on the album that stuck out to me more since it was one of the few that didn't sound so much like Frank lol Heaven's Only Wishful was smooth, agree there! A great intro track to his EP. Short Court Style was a major bop (though I chose a different song for my countdown).
