Wicked Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Jenny accurately titled her EP because I got my full 8 hours after listening.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 15, 2018 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 15, 2018 Just now, Wicked said: Jenny accurately titled her EP because I got my full 8 hours after listening. Spells is so gooooood but then the rest gave me a healthy amount of sleep.
pearlmercury Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Negative Gemini is good, the whole ep is decent but baby boy is clearly a stand out
Eeveelution Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Love Crush and Galapagos. Sudan and Jenny EPs were nice but not nice enough for me to listen more than once.
Vilppu Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 wednesday and ravyn snapped yes they did momoland was ofc hard carried by baam and ig berybery was above average for a kpop bside but the other two trax are hideous... love them lots though so i'm glad they're here
pearlmercury Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 i thank baam and bingo game are the two songs i like on that ep
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 15, 2018 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 15, 2018 I'm gonna try to do multiple updates a day to catch up. If I miss your best-of updates for a long time DO NOT BE AFRAID to tag me in it, remind me here, get passive aggressive, etc. I wanna post in all of yours but I might miss a few!
Tom Vercetti Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Reasonable HMs. One great song can't carry an entire ep @ Jenny Hvals.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 15, 2018 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 15, 2018 The honorable mentions had one bop each, while this one had two! I like that he has the sorta acoustic Blood Orange 2018 vibe going on, but he leans way more Pop than R&B/Soul than Blood Orange does. He has potential, let's hope he leaves the boring songs behind! Highlights: Heaven's Only Wishful, Waiting on the Warmth Weaknesses: Find Colour I love this sorta idgaf I'm better than you all vibe that Queen Key has. 2018 is the year of the female rapper and all sorts of girls delivered, including Queen Key. Her personality and rapping is there, now she just needs to hire songwriters and producers to take her songs to that next level. Highlights: Am I Wrong, Ha Weaknesses: Miss 100k Little Boots is on a mission to give us consistent robotitic icey disco dance-pop and for the most part she succeeds. Each of the four songs on this EP has a collaborator however I would argue she would be better by herself, too many cooks in the kitchen, etc. Either way, this is a nice step forward artistically for her after Working Girl was kind of overwrought. Highlights: Eros, Picture Weaknesses: Shadows If you liked Okovi last year, you will like Okovi: Additions this year! It's basically the stuff that got left off the album and then remixes. Zola Jesus is very consistent in her sound. You basically know what to expect by now, however there are still little moments that are genuinely new for her including the instrumental in the lead single Bound! Highlights: Bound, Vacant Weaknesses: The remixes Sevdaliza is definitely another artist who is consistent in her sound. You know what you're getting here, but she brings out the best in all her usual tricks so this EP is a really nice listen. Highlights: Observer, Soul Syncable Weaknesses: Human Nature
TRF. Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Negative Gemini, Le1f, Ravyn, Jenny, Sudan Archives, Wednesday Campanella The Okovi additions were v nice! I really dig the WITTR remix and Bound ?
Eeveelution Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 I liked Sevdaliza's ep but it didn't have replay value for me. Lttle Boots.. it's nice that she's still trying in 2018!

ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 15, 2018 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) I don't know either acts involved in this collaborative EP but it's a nice combo of psychedelic and dance. Put it on and bop, or relax, or whatever. Highlights: Obsession Weaknesses: Slorb I love this stupid collab EP. Anda is one of those flop kpop singers that keeps randomly getting hyped to me. Her vocals on this Ep are really something else but I enjoy her out of tune mess. It's a nice dream pop/bedroom pop attempt for Kpop! Seriously! Highlights: Dressroom, Zeppelin Weaknesses: Moonlight You know me, anything Kitty does, I stan. Including this new EP under a different name. It's a little more bragging/less insecure so something new for her. Definitely gives me 2008 trashy electroclash teas. Highlights: Watch Me, I Got that Boom Weaknesses: Mary Poppins Bbymutha was one of my fave discoveries of 2018. She has this really appealing southern drawl, a unique visual aesthetic and balances life lessons and humor very well. This is her best of three strong EPs this year. It discusses the themes of motherhood, artistic integrity, and being better than everyone else. Highlights: Sailor Goon, DIY Weaknesses: Toxic Priest, the queen of apathetic synthpop strikes again. She has absolutely no emotion in her voice but that's the appeal of her. If you liked her 2015 album, you'll like this. It's nothing new but it doesn't feel redundant. Highlights: Our Time Will Come Weaknesses: New King Edited December 15, 2018 by madonnas
Pink Matter Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Poor Wednesday and Ravyn. MorMor was a nice little surprise that I only got into recently so that's great it made your list!

Navyofbadgals Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Ravyn most absolutely snapped.. deserved more than a HM tbh
Weed Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 The taste jumped out! ... I think. I don't know very many of these records
mokitsu Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 enjoyed some songs on little boot's ep. okovi addictions slayed. currently writing the description for the calling don't know the rest
Vilppu Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 i expected do worry be happy to be a complete waste of time but it was one of the few kpop releases worth listening to in full this year, a pleasant surprise
Vxspertine Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 I forgot about the Sevdaliza EP, we do stan though! drag human nature
theblackestday Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Loved the Sudan, Ravyn, Zola, Wednesday and Jenny EPs I wish the latter two made it I was disappointed by Sevda's EP, and I loved all her previous efforts. Kinda surprised that I'm not familiar with most of the other ones at all
TRF. Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 That Pom-Poms EP is... not good. I'm glad she's doing something she's happy with though, I guess. The Anda EP is v nice! Her song Touch is lowkey a classique, that EP is basically a 180° from that lol
