M A R C Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 The Rewind acclaim Also Blue Moon is great too.
Tom Vercetti Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 rewind should be higher but nice that it's here. x-ray > any die antwoord song deep end is ok, but not really remarkable at the same time.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Deep End Neneh making the list her last album was good, but I prefer Blank Project personally wait I kinda forgot about that Stuart Price song Kiesza did this year she better cancels that tragic Malinkiesza project Dip actually bops Dancing with Character such a lovely number
Eeveelution Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 deep end was definitely the best thing Lykke did this year. I like Dancing with Character, but Rae's opener was a better example of a successful ballad imo.
Dom Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 OKAYYY, I'M BACK AND I SEE DIP, OKAY, A DAMN BOP. Tyga be really slaying this year, KREAM ALSO SNAPPED. Tommy Cash and Lykke Li also slay.
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 27, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 27, 2018 big god not dip.. didn't like it much X-ray, deep end, observer(one of my faves from sevdaliza... she did that),dancing with character
Kevin2803 Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I don't know a lot of these songs. deep end is cute, i guess. I don't know that song of Danny L Harle, but he has some bops.
Vilppu Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Quote Thanks sis, whoever you are so we're just gonna act like 9MUSES don't have one of the strongest title track runs ever huh the blue angel song is so pretty omg and tommy cash is growing on me. rewind/DWC fantastic ofc
Sbbmsve Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Deep End C H L O R I N E I prefer Togetherness from that album
Jet Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Great list but I wish Why Did You Do That was more than just an HM, its so good
theblackestday Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 agreed about Big God being Florence's best song in awhile. Too bad I didn't care for High as Hope. But screaming at you praising it so highly while it barely making your top 150 X-Ray revived euro-trance and I'm surprisingly here for it. deep end and Rewind are big bops
Pink Matter Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Lykke and Rae are my faves here. Didn't bother with the Flo album this year so idk ha @ Big God
collin Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Dancing With Character is such a special song. Also enjoyed Deep End and X-Ray. U.A.F.W.M. is so, so good. I wish I liked Blue Angel but I did not... at all. I love Why Did You Do That? making the HMs. It's one of those fun-to-sing (...mock?) ones for sure.
TayRianaPH Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Hi sweetie! Great list so far! ? My Top 3 on this set: 3. Lykke Li 2. Tyga, tho he could've done so much more. 1. Kiesza See you on my Best Of too.
Blue Rose Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Florence, Lykke and Rae really did their thing. We stan this female trinity
World Eater Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 As I just said in the other thread, Big God lacks a big, final chorus imo. Still a very good sing tho! X-Ray and deep end were quite unexpected in a way or the other, but they both slap so hard

I'm surprised its so high on yours, and hm no. Die Antwoord have many great songs even if they're insufferable. She'll never top her first album though and I accept that. IDK anything else Kiesza did this year but I did like that song. Some of her recent singles from the past fear years have been questionable. 23 hours ago, Eeveelution said: deep end was definitely the best thing Lykke did this year. Dom Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Perfume Fusion is so noisy thoo, but it feels like a club song tbh. reminds me of one polish movie. yeah this one. i remember watchin it movie festival, reminds me of that song.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 28, 2018 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 28, 2018 135. Zombie-Chang - We Should Kiss The "ooh, lala" repeated hook never gets old. This is the best of the more guitar oriented songs on the album. 134. Perfume - Fusion HMMM, maybe Perfume should have gone down THIS direction instead of doing the same thing that they've been doing since Cosmic Explorer? MAYBE??? I adore the more darker industrial sounding synths like please more. 133. Santigold - Run the Road The best song from Santigold's new project is a fun, low stakes listen. It doesn't grab your attention like some of her best songs yet it's relaxing and you don't get sick of it very quick compared to the rest of the mixtape. 132. Chloe x Halle - Galaxy This is their most "art pop" song on their album and I definitely think they should go down this road. Their harmonies are stunning and are able to carry the non-conventional pop melody/sound. It seriously reminds me of V V Brown with less electronic stuff. 131. Anna Calvi - As a Man The intro to Hunter is the album's biggest statement and packs the biggest emotional punch. 130. Slayyyter - Candy In an era where everything is trying to sound like PC music, Slayyyter makes her sound stand out by including elements of Jersey Club (thanks Ayesha) and Electroclash. Sorta a Peaches meets Charli XCX kinda deal going on here. 129. Quavo - Champagne Rose Madonna's bathroom recorded vocals make this song stand out. It's a hypnotic chorus and she even gets her own masterfully executed verse. Quavo usually works as a flavor in a song not as the centerpiece so it was smart of him to get two great artists on board (even tho cardi's verse is kinda poopoo). 128. LOONA - Rosy The b-side to the extremely strong single Egoist is even better. The song has a drop that makes all those annoying loud EDM style drops seem like complete parodies in comparison. 127. Ayesha Erotica - Vacation Bible School RIP Ayesha's music career, as she seems to not be into it now. WELL OKay fine. This song is so delicious I cant believe we're not getting more like this. 126. BoA - I Want You Back BoA's best song on her new album reminds the lesser who is Queen. It's a lighthearted disco track that makes anybody smile! 125. George Clanton - Make it Forever I don't know how to describe this, it's sorta Hypnogogic Pop meets Synthpop. Although to be honest most Hypnogogic Pop are already that description? I just really like the song it's catchy. 124. Azealia Banks - Anna Wintour We get the three sides of Azealia on this song. We get the screaming, singing, and rapping. Honestly, at the end of the song you're left wanting more of each (but really more of the screaming), and that's a good thing. 123. Mariah Carey - GTFO Howww about you.... getthe****outttt is definitely one of the huge highlights of Caution. After hearing the song you will want to tell that to everyone, but the song can also work in a serious context as the personal lyrics definitely make you believe Mariah is feeling some kind of way. 122. Dorian Electra - Career Boy Another discovery through Pop 2 makes its way on this list. I like Dorian, she's got a unique style. Sometimes she doesn't go hard enough in her songs, but she does in this one, where it feels like she's talking to herself more than whatever boy she's talking about. 121. Poppy - Metal Love the original, love the cover. Instead of extremely passionate vocals like Gary, Poppy opts for a detached overseer kind of vibe.
Dom Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Anna Wintour is so loww, whew. bop and a half tho. mv is quite eh, trash ? GTFO is a cute meme of a song.
Kevin2803 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I don't know the new songs from Santigold, but i fell in love with GO this year. GTFO
Blue Rose Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I remember loving Anna Calvi’s album but I don’t know why I never went back to it. It’s kinda of a very specific mood
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 28, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 28, 2018 Mariah did that with GTFO
