ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 16, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 16, 2018 So Sad So Sexy
lhdang2000 Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 I don't know 31 to 35. But EIL is not a good album at all.
Pink Matter Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Some solid picks this round! Black Panther OST and VanJess are def the best from this set Nice to see some Taboo and Oxnard love too I reaaaaaaally wanted to like Negro Swan but outside of a handful of songs it just didn't do it for me Ryan Beatty was kinda overrated? Very been there don that by much better artists. EIL isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be but I do think it's placement is a bit high. And so sad so sexy was some hot trash mama
Vxspertine Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The Suspiria soundtrack was alright, I'm not huge on soundtracks so I don't really have much to say about it Oxnard great placement for it tbh! I agree with what you said about it but I find it to be a lot more flawed

theblackestday Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 SSSS is overhated! but now we said it. Thom did what he had to do with Suspiria
Maddox Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 I enjoyed Oxnard, second half felt a little weak but overall it was good! Kadhja's vocals I'm just... VanJess was cute too, there was some bops here and there! Didn't like EIL much
Prismee Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 TLIC is truly a stain on Sweetener ASIB is too low, but stan for Black Eyes Bradley really snapped with that one.

Ariana Grande – Sweetener [POP] Sweetener’s worst moment is a Nicki Minaj feature, not surprisingly. Other than that Sweetener is for the most part admirable. It’s title track is also a skip but I think that the rest of the songs range from decent to amazing. Often times Pharrell is criticized for his work on here, but I think on songs like R.E.M. he brings out Ariana’s voice in a beautiful way, something that Max Martin doesn’t really do for her. My only problem with Pharrell’s sound is that this doesn’t feel like experimentation for Ariana; rather it’s an exploration of Pharrell’s sound. Sweetener certainly isn’t Ariana’s best work but it’s an admirable attempt at risktaking. On 12/15/2018 at 10:29 PM, Navyofbadgals said: 44. Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper – A Star Is Born OST [SOUNDTRACK] Well.. I enjoyed this quite a lot more than I could’ve ever anticipated. It’s not crazy Gaga; but we are treated here with undeniably the best ballads of her career. Watching the movie definitely made me love some songs even more and I think that most tracks are near perfection. A few pop tracks and most Bradley tracks aren’t and it’s what weighs this album down somewhat. I still think Bradley did an amazing job; but I’m not gonna force myself to like his songs lmao. They’re not bad; but not my cup of tea. Black Eyes is great tho x @Torturo thoughts? Anyways... The album chart is going to be soooo indie ? I'm predicting Janelle and Mitski for the Top 2

Bubble Tea Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 I'm a big fan of Sweetener. It was an experimental and interesting direction for Ariana while saying in her pop lane. Loved it - and love that "imagine" feels like a continuation of that sound. A Star is Born OST is completely flawless. "Always Remember Us This Way" might be one of Gaga's best ever ballads.
Staryu Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 ASiB is good, some killer Gaga ballads on it, also I really love Hair Body Face it's the kind of pop I miss from Gaga
Scandalous Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 nice to see Boy In Jeans getting some love
Navyofbadgals Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 30. Cardi B – Invasion Of Privacy [TRAP RAP] Well..am ready for another round of lashings! I still think this is an incredibly solid debut filled with bangerz, bops and hits. It’s an album mostly made by Cardi’s undeniable star power, and whilst Cardi will never be the best of the female rap bunch, I think she’s still doing a good job and it’s nice to see her thriving. 29. Lily Allen – No Shame [POP] Seethe Prézli x. After the mixed results of Sheezus, Lily is finally back. Truthfully I didn’t really look into the era until the album was released, and was pleasantly surprised when I listened. A raw experience of a divorced mother in the modern world. Filled with beautiful bangers, self-aware bops and some more on-trend songs, No Shame is a return to form; but not the old form. Whereas Sheezus felt like a caricature of Allen, No Shame feels like a natural progression. Also the opener is that song whew 28. Kamasi Washington – Heaven and Earth [JAZZ FUSION] An incredibly unique experience of Jazz, with elements of various other genres, that has a timeless feel to it. The only problem with this album and the reason why it’s not higher? Because it’s nearly 2.5 hours long. I truly don’t mind sitting through long songs, especially if they are this captivating and beautiful, but I do think some songs could’ve been on the shorter side. 27. SOPHIE – OIL OF EVERY PEARL’S UN-INSIDES [ART POP] I truly didn’t care about SOPHIE before the album was released. The singles didn’t catch onto me (at all) and her previously released stuff surely didn’t excite me. This album however is absolutely beautiful, inventive and unique. The singles also grew on me. I still think this is an album that’s rather hard to listen to on repeat, but it’s also a very rewarding listen. SOPHIE’s album consists of a mix of beautiful songs (see: Is It Cold In The Water?) and promising pop tunes (see: Immaterial). It’s certainly not for everybody.. yet 26. Jorja Smith – Lost & Found [NEO-SOUL] Not the most daring album you will ever hear, but this is so incredibly solid. Packed with great songs, and bursting with potential. This is a great debut, but Jorja will only grow from here. A beautiful voice with a promising future.
Navyofbadgals Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 25. Christina Aguilera – Liberation [R&B] I’ve always loved Christina, so I was looking forward to her return after a rather long hiatus. Lotus wasn’t really it but I still think Bionic is an incredible record. Liberation is Christina at perhaps her best. It showcases her vocals, but also sees Christina taking risks. The riskiest risk is Accelerate, the first taste we got of Liberation. Whilst many hated it, I thought it was amazing. Perhaps not what you would want after a long hiatus, but it’s a daring and unique record that feels modern but in no way ‘’trend-hoppy’’. Liberation is the album where Christina takes the best use of her vocals creating a strong album. She once again is ahead of the time.. legend 24. Pusha T – Daytona [HIP-HOP] Kanye gave us quite a lot of material this year, but this Pusha T record (and another record) are truly the only albums that I enjoyed from his insane production spree. Daytona is only 7 tracks long, so there’s no filler to see here. What we have here is an amazingly produced record filled with bangers and some nice guest appearances here and there. That album cover is still a choice, but the album certainly isn’t 23. Hollie Cook – Vessel Of Love [REGGAE] A dreamy and sweet reggae album that also delves into Hollie’s pain. This is a smooth ride filled with lovely tunes and is a nice ode to reggae. Hollie’s voice makes this beautiful experience complete. 22. Wye Oak – The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs [INDIE POP] A beautiful album that sometimes gets me in my feels oop. Not a lot to say about this other then that this was a great discover for me. 21. Rae Morris – Someone Out There [ELECTROPOP] A great pop album, and a pop album that you hope for. Filled with beautiful pop tunes that aren’t dumbed down like some of the pop **** yall stan sometimes for (cough Carly Rae (drag me!)). It’s a playful, confident pop album with a nice touch of personality. We stan ~top 10 EPs tomorrow or maybe Wednesday considering I just got some great news oop after that I'll continue with the top 20~
Tom Vercetti Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Quote Well..am ready for another round of lashings! not really. 30 is more than enough for cardi. sophie, pusha ? Jorja Still haven't given kamasi a listen yet.
Blue Rose Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Rae Morris I wanted to check out Kamasi’s album because it is so acclaimed but I didn’t have the patience nor the time. Cardi’s album is full of bops. My fave song is She Bad. Daytona slayed too.

Also Nicki's TLIC part is the best thing on the album MassEd is cute, I guess I liked New York, Sugarboy and Savior from it ASIB I was surprised by it too, def GaGa's best ballads are on it thanks legend. anyways I'm ignoring the part about Nicki's part being the best thing xoxo On 12/16/2018 at 7:49 PM, Bxtch said: Haven't heard any of these ones tbh here to quote you again so you know I updated On 12/16/2018 at 7:56 PM, Unoriginal said: EIL is kind of overhated?
