Forever Neverland: Just listened to this recently, it's actually pretty good. The 2 slow songs just stick out too much and are easily the weakest ones.
Sweatener: Nicki is one of the good parts of the darkness is coming sweatener + successful are officially the 2 worst songs in her discography. Not ALL the Pharrell songs are bad, just most.
MASSEDUCATION Acoustic: Whoops I forgot this came out  Actually listening to a little of the original album right now. Don't really have an interest in hearing slower versions.
A Star Is Born OST: Way too low I'm disgust! And wow, another person underrating Bradley!
Honey: I won't drag you for placing it here, 5 tracks are great but the other 4 bring my score downT.

I think it def helped for me that I wasn't familiar with them whatsoever; I can see why some are disappointed but with the way I went into their discography all I saw was an okay synthpop album n

I mean it's also kinda good that you found the thing you like plus I'm also shocked at myself  I just really wanted to listen to as many new music as possible this year and that's honestly a reason why musically my 2018 was pretty nice; even though the year as a whole was.. rather dry as far as big rihleases go

I'm not sure if I agrih with all of that  But yeah BORNS album was awful. I had it on my shortlist for this year but I decided that I'm not gonna put an album on my list that isn't worth checking whatsoever.

Have you heard Seinabo's previous album? It has some beautiful cuts like Burial and Ruin that kinda trump on this album

TBH. their harmonies on basic rnb songs just make it more boring; With some more experimental music they could make great music and utilize their harmonies much better

I have not heard it actually! I enjoyed IHaD so I may go back to her previous material at some point in the future.

 

Albums: Solid picks so far. Some too low (like Honey wtf ). And it's okay sis, not everyone can understand the brilliance that is Beach2k20. A big bop as the kids say  

I never go into a Travis album expecting bars. Just lush/extravagant production which he delivered throughout the album.

Testing seems to be hit or miss for most people, mostly miss it seems  o whale, the album actually grew on me tons.

You're not wrong about The Future and the Past not reinventing the wheel, but does it really need to? I don't think it's necessary to critique music on the basis of whether or not the artist is doing something innovative, as long as they do what they set out to do well which I think was mostly the case Natalie's effort.

And I don't get the hate for sweetener (song)  seems rather odd tbh

ASTROWORLD was too samey in a bad way for me but maybe it just didn't grow on me yet? We'll c. SICKO MODE is a bop tho

I remember when someone in the Honey thread said the same thing about Beack2k20, more or less a month before the album came out, and got DRAGGED to the pits  Funny how that's become a common opinion once the album was out
