Remmy Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Time for Day 21 Best Films [[ #24 - 21 ]] We're far from the shallow now! No more bad stuff on this list [[ Eligiblity period: October 1st, 2017 - December 21st, 2018 ]] 24. Crazy Rich Asians [B-] Released: 08/15/2018 || RT: 91% / MC: 74 Starring: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh Around the time the trailer dropped for this, I thought it looked like a huge mess. Then after months of seeing large praise and even recent award nominations, I finally caved. It definitely exceeded my expectations, though I wouldn't say it was all that special outside of the incredibly overdue representation. Still has plenty of cute moments though (especially the ending), as well as a couple you can root for. 23. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle [B-] Released: 12/20/2017 || RT: 76% / MC: 58 Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black Funny but not too funny, fun but not too fun. Could've been so much worse (like pretty much everyone, including myself, was expecting.) The main cast includes people that may not be that strong individually, however they worked pretty well as an ensemble. Now I'm really interested to see if this was a fluke or will this December's Jumanji 3 actually be enjoyable as well? 22. Bohemian Rhapsody [B-] Released: 11/02/2018 || RT: 62% / MC: 48 Starring: Rami Malek, Gwilym Lee, Lucy Boynton Critics were kinda divided and the GP loved it, and I'm somewhere in the middle. It's definitely a crowd pleaser so I can understand why audiences are praising it, but I wish there was MORE. More tea, more juice, more excitement. It skipped out on several big Mercury life moments and some of the made-up Queen/Freddie facts added into the storyline were questionable. At least Rami Malek killed it. 21. Call Me By Your Name [B.] Released: 11/24/2017 || RT: 91% / MC: 93 Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg This was good, the pace was slow (a theme with Oscar movies) but I never found myself getting bored, however at the same time I wasn't as emotionally invested as most viewers - that's not to blame the movie, I'm lowkey a robot. Great performances, beautiful gowns. REPLIES - DAY 20: Spoiler 22 hours ago, Mr. Loco said: This year had great soundtracks tbh, Black Panther is one of those, it had some great tracks! Very true! If BP's second half was better then I would agree, but sadly it's my least favorite of the bunch. 21 hours ago, Green said: I liked a few songs from Man of the woods but the album was very forgetable to be honest. Yep, very accurate description 21 hours ago, kelly-clarkson said: Well at least you quoted and didn't @, or else I would've reported you 20 hours ago, potent said: Yeah I would say that Young and Menace is a little overhated, it wasn’t lead single material but it’s not really one of the worst songs of 2017 like some people say. It's very wild and chaotic, but just the amount of wild and chaotic that I like. I understand it's not for everyone though... and yeah, they were really bold to drop this one 1st dd. 20 hours ago, Staryu said: yas @ Bloom being your #2 most played album the album made me love Troye so much, ASiB I agree about the Greatest Showman, performances are good, the movie itself is not great, they could have easily made the movie about a fictional person and not PT Barnum Blue Neighbourhood should've had you stanning Troye from the START Yeah, for sure! 12 hours ago, Lazuli said: Sigrid #1 hmmm Delicate should've been #1!!! Ready To Go is an interesting P!ATD choice! Clearest Blue slaying Only their best song ever Wtf is Warning Call tho why haven't I ever heard of it Sugarboy does not deserve to be your 2nd most listened to St. Vincent song, but Pills does Did you just put the BP soundtrack below awful albums by FOB and JT? This is RACISME Then how about you recreate the same list and make her #1 on YOURS Been my favorite from them/him for years now! Too bad sis is pretty underrated Oh yes I agree! It's on the deluxe edition of Every Open Eye + was in some video game. I listened to them back-to-back almost every time, whew what a crazy pair Kiii I just think I'm a lot more picky with rap/R&B than other genres. Plus I'll admit a lot of these releases at the bottom only got one full play, so who knows how different this list would be if everything got 2, 3, etc. I'm gonna try to be better with that this year. 11 hours ago, TayRianaPH said: ASIB won AOTY?! I'm shocked Lol BP soundtrack is definitely better than JT's album tho... Not so fast, this is just the most played list Their scores were pretty close, JT just prevailed by 0.6%! 8 hours ago, Legend E said: Delicate should've been #1! Stan LOONA Sigrid 4 hours ago, madonnas said: Large albums definitely snatch a llt more but the amount of Bloom with just 10 songs!! He went off It also helps that the era started in January Plus MMM! takes up a good chunk of that number with around 150 plays. 56 minutes ago, Dom said: yasss at no shame, miss lily snapped on it. sheezus was outsold. This is a pretty unpopular opinion but Sheezus is actually my favorite from Lily I wish she was more appreciated!

ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted January 3, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted January 3, 2019 I agree about Bohemian Rhapsody. I wish the relationships were more developed as well. Good film though.
Remmy Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Best Songs (Pre-2018) [[ #76 - 61 ]] I'm gonna reveal this category faster than other ones because I don't think this will be very popular ddd, plus there's not much variety at all, but oh well these songs needed to get their well deserved shoutouts! Also, this list contains both singles and album tracks. (This was meant to be a top 75 but I miscounted so now it's +1 ) 76. Janelle Monáe ft. Erykah Badu "Q.U.E.E.N." [Artist: 1 of 4 | Album: 1 of 4] 75. Two Door Cinema Club "This Is the Life" [Artist: 1 of 17 | Album: 1 of 8] 74. Two Door Cinema Club "Sun" [Artist: 2 of 17 | Album: 1 of 1] 73. Portugal. Remmy Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 "Best" Albums [[ #26 - 23 ]] 26. 'A Legendary Christmas' [[Meh]] By: John Legend | Released: 10/26/2018 Trinity: 1. No Place Like Home • 2. By Christmas Eve • 3. Bring Me Love Bottom 3: 12. Christmas Time Is Here • 13. Wrap Me Up... • 14. Merry Merry Christmas Just some simple and serviceable Christmas music. Could've been better, though it does have some very smooth moments and it's still a nice choice for a chill, Winter night. However, it's probably better to listen to in the background. He also did a good job with the 6 original songs, I'd say 4 of them are highlights. 25. 'Icarus Falls' [[Meh]] By: ZAYN | Released: 12/14/2018 Trinity: 1. Let Me • 2. I Don't Mind • 3. There You Are Bottom 3: 24. If I Got You • 25. Fresh Air • 26. Fingers Boy really had some nerve to drop a 27-track album, but I'll easily take this over something like 2017's Heartbreak On a Full Moon from Chris Brown, which contained 45 (57 with the rerelease.) The bloated tracklist and mixed pre-album material made this seem like it was going to be really awful, but it was surprisingly not? There's still nothing that compares to Mind of Mine's standouts, and I can't say I remember what 80% of this sounds like anymore. 24. 'Honey' [[Meh]] By: Robyn | Released: 10/26/2018 Trinity: 1. Between the Lines • 2. Because It's In the Music • 3. Ever Again Bottom 3: 7. Human Being • 8. Baby Forgive Me • 9. Beach2k20 I know this album is worshipped on here, especially in this section, but I can't contribute to that this time around. I loved my top 3 instantly, the 2 singles needed to grow on me, and the rest just haven't hit that process yet. The bottom half of my rankings contain songs that I'd simply consider to be average-ish, plus they're pretty repetitive and/or too long as well. 23. 'Origins' [[Meh]] By: Imagine Dragons | Released: 11/09/2018 Trinity: 1. Natural • 2. Machine • 3. Cool Out Bottom 3: 13. Real Life? • 14. Digital • 15. Boomerang Just like Ariana Grande, I never expected them to be this low on my list. I mean, #23 is obviously better than #31 but man, Origins was quite underwhelming. I appreciate them giving us new music pretty soon after Evolve, though this is an example of when things are too rushed. My bottom 2 are truly career lows for them, I especially don't know what they were thinking on those. As for the others, it's typical Imagine Dragons for the most part. That's the end of day 21! Check out page 1, post #2 for links to every update.
Jet Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Honey I agree with your top 3 but I'm not sure Human Being deserves to be in the bottom 3
Lazuli Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 I appreciate Robyn being here but you basically dragged her in your writeup... and you have that rushed excuse of an album by Imagine Dragons higher than her... As for the tracks, interesting TDCC domination! Crazy Rich Asians not top 10 I call this RACISME CMBYN not top 10 I call this HOMOPHOBIA
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted January 4, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted January 4, 2019 Icarus Falls is a bit messy but I still like it I was so excited for Origins, considering Evolve was amazing

Remmy Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 Time for Day 22 Admittedly I'm getting a biT bored and this section is only gettng emptier so I'm gonna rush today's update and not use a lot of time on formatting and doing longer writeups, might do the same tomorrow idk. We'll see. Best Films [[ #20 - 13 ]] 20. Won't You Be My Neighbor? [B.] Not a huge documentary watcher, but this one was nice. If my heart wasn't Grinch-sized (before it grew) then my rating would've probably been better. 19. Eighth Grade [B.] Honestly I expected this to be at least an A- from me, obviously it didn't manage to reach those heights. Still enjoyed this and it's pretty realistic as well as relatable. 17. Black Panther [B+] Another solid entry from Marvel. Though like Crazy Rich Asians, I do think it's a tad overrated and isn't anything to go crazy about aside from the overdue representation. 16. Maze Runner: The Death Cure [B+] 1st movie slayed, 2nd was decent, this one is a step up and a satisfying finale. Last hour is action packed. 15. Love, Simon [B+] Very cute! Nothing revolutionary but having a movie revolve around an LGBT lead is very appreciated. 14. Thor: Ragnarok [B+] Thor's switch from dark to comedic was a bit jarring at first, but I had a fun time once I got past it. Best of the franchise so far, while it sits just outside my Marvel top 10. 13. Paddington 2 [B+] It's wild that this is the best reviewed movie of all time on Rotten Tomatoes. Very wholesome and lovable, though I'd say the first one outsold by just a bit. BEST FILMS (so far): Top 33 Spoiler 33. Downsizing [F+] 32. Venom [D-] 31. Christopher Robin [D+] 30. Remmy Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 Best Albums [[ #22 - 15 ]] 22. Jess Glynne 'Always In Between' [[Meh]] Trinity: 1. Rollin • 2. I'll Be There • 3. All I Am Bottom 3: 11. Hate / Love • 12. Won't Say No • 13. Insecurities It's cute and positive, but doesn't stray far from her debut at all. Kinda regret not pushing it down 2 or 3 spots kiii, too late now! 21. Various Artists 'Sierra Burgess Is a Loser OST' [[Good]] Trinity: 1. Lights • 2. Paper Love • 3. The Other Side Bottom 3: 10-12. Half of You/Latitude/Middle of Love Mainly listened to this for Betty and Allie, luckily they didn't disappoint. There's too much Lelend (4 songs, to be exact) - his tracks dominate my bottom 3, while one of them actually turned out to be my favorite. 20. Poppy 'Am I a Girl?' [[Good]] Trinity: 1. TIme Is Up • 2. X • 3. Play Destroy Bottom 3: 10. Iconic • 11. Chic Chick • 12. Hard Feelings A nice step up from Poppy.Computer. I especially like how things take an unexpected ~metal~ turn for the finale. 19. Christina Aguilera 'Liberation' [[Good]] Trinity: 1. Like I Do • 2. Right Moves • 3. Deserve Bottom 3: 9. Masochist • 10. Pipe • 11. Accelerate The middle section is so damn good whew! Christina snapped on tracks #7-9 (plus #6 and #10.) Unfortunately Accelerate wasn't removed. [Fun fact: This would be at #16 if it was taken off the tracklist.] 18. Shawn Mendes 'Shawn Mendes' [[Good]] Trinity: 1. In My Blood • 2. When You're Ready • 3. Nervous Bottom 3: 12. Mutual • 13. Because I Had You • 14. Like to Be You Shawn's finally trying new things, I'm here for it! Now he still has to work on releasing a fillerless album. This is his best work so far but my bottom 3 distract from that a bit. 17. twenty one pilots 'Trench' [[Nice]] Trinity: 1. My Blood • 2. Levitate • 3. Jumpsuit Bottom 3: 12. Neon Gravestones • 13. Bandito • 14. Leave the City Idk what to say it's nice yep thanks for coming to my TED talk 16. Various Artists 'Love, Simon OST' [[Nice]] Trinity: 1. I Wanna Dance with Somebody • 2. Rollercoaster • 3. Alfie's Song Bottom 3: 11. Wings • 12. Someday at Christmas • 13. The Oogum Boogum Song Not only can Jack Antonoff write and produce, he can also curate a solid soundtrack! I'm especially grateful that he included 5 of his own songs + my favorite Whitney classic 15. Kimbra 'Primal Heart' [[Nice]] Trinity: 1. Lightyears • 2. The Good War • 3. Right Direction Bottom 3: 10. Human • 11. Version of Me • 12. Real Life Sis finally caught my attention with this one! Wasn't expecting to like this so much (and even purchase it). I enjoy some of the sounds on this. the outro is a tad ugly though. BEST ALBUMS (so far): Top 36 Spoiler Boring AF: 36. Tinashe 'Joyride' Weak: 35. ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted January 4, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted January 4, 2019 OK, you cannot say that Dust Bynne's album is better than Cupcakke's. I WILL NOT ACCEPT IT. The top/bottom for Poppy is definitely accurate. Chic Chick sounded cool but in actuality wasn't that great. I'm going to pretend that Accelerate is your top on Liberation!
Dom Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 love simon, wasn't that much of a slay but good film. yess, at least u don't overrate overrated panther. poppy's album is a whole bop, x-tina's on the other hand is trash, so wyd?
