Well damn, you know pop-rock is truly dead when even 5SOS leaves it behind. I still think self-titled is their best work,

and Sounds Good Feels Good kinda pales in comparison aside from a few standouts. Now they're back again with 18

more tracks (take notes Drake + Zayn) and a large majority of them are serving quality.

I really wasn't expecting to prefer this over A Star Is Born. It's one of the best soundtracks I've heard in so

long, probably since 2007's Hairspray (which is still #1, by the way.) There's not one flop in the bunch and the whole

cast does a nice job. Special shoutout to Ziv Zaifman and Loren Allred for singing on the best songs and being

fine with actors lipsynching over them!

sure if this was going to be better than his debut, especially since the lead single left me a bit underwhelmed at

and I'm not remotely mad at any of it.

I think The Overpass is considered a lot of people's least fave, so you'll have to do plenty of pretending

Starring: Margot Robbie, Allison Janney, Sebastian Stan

I've heard about Nancy Kerrigan and her situation before but honestly, before last year I was barely aware of Tonya

Harding. A portion of the facts about her life, as well as who caused the incident, came from her mouth and I don't care

if she lied about anything, either way it turned out to make a damn good movie. Actually, this is pretty convienient timing

since its 25 year anniversary was just yesterday. Anyway, I, Tonya really knows how to keep you interested even if you don't

care about the subject, and all 3 leads snapped (especially Margot and Allison.) This was actually the only movie in 2018 that I

watched twice in the same week, which is something I very rarely do. I'll probably gonna pop in the DVD in a few days as well.

 

 

 

02. Avengers: Infinity War [A-]

Starring: Josh Brolin, Zoe Saldana, Robert Downey Jr.

The big event we've all been waiting for! The combination of EIGHTEEN movies! Over a dozen superheroes all coming

together! It had some very big hype to live up to, and I'd say it succeeded for the most part. For once we had a villain that

was truly threatening and the stakes are massive. The main deaths were kinda predictable, but I'm pretty sure nobody was

prepared for the ending that shook the world (honestly I spoiled it for myself before seeing it opening day, and I still had goosebumps.)

It was also nice to see some of my favorite characters interacting, as plenty of them have never met before. For right now

this is my 2nd favorite Marvel film, and I can't wait to see what happens in Endgame.

Starring: Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Sam Elliott

This may not have won Golden Globe's Best Picture award last night (ugh...) and the soundtrack didn't make my Best Albums top

5, but at least it gets this! Also don't think I'm being biased just because I'm a major Gaga stan - while this is my favorite of the

year, I still wouldn't call it, or even her performance, perfect. A Star Is Born sports a dynamic duo, amazing music and a story that

touched the hearts of many. It might not be the most original narrative, but it's still relevant to this day, and kept me intrigued even

when the pacing slowed down. It was also the only 2018 film I saw twice in theaters, and three times overall. I'm ready for a fourth!

Yeah I enjoyed my these 3 a lot but I wouldn't consider them to be among my all time favorites or anything. ASIB could possibly get upgraded to an A soon.

My ex-high school teacher thought I was crazy when I said BR had higher chances than ASIB last week.

I have listened a couple from CHVRCHES, and I really like it. Maybe I'll listen to the whole thing soon.
