Remmy Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 Day 7 time Best Males This is ranked by a mix of how much I enjoyed their 2018 material and the level of impact they had on my year. 05. Jon Bellion Biggest Hit: All Time Low || Favorite Song: Hand of God (Outro) Glory Sound Prep didn't outtalent his modern masterpiece, The Human Condition, but it was still solid and he did what he had to do (which is slay.) So far it's only been out for a month and he's given it no promo outside of social media, if the situation was different then he could've likely been higher on this list. 04. Brendon Urie (Panic! at the Disco) Biggest Hit: I Write Sins Not Tragedies || Favorite Song: Ready to Go Well, Panic! is still a one-man show so I can't put them/him in the Best Band + Groups category anymore. Brendon didn't really give us anything we haven't heard before on Pray for the Wicked, but why fix what isn't broken? He still managed to get his highest peaking BB100 entry with "High Hopes", landing in the top 5, which is an impressive feat after being around for 13 years. 03. BØRNS Biggest Hit: Electric Love || Favorite Song: Past Lives Another person I discovered this year that impressed me a lot. Unlike CHVRCHES, I actually listened to his new album before the old one, and they both had me floored (well, Blue Madonna actually needed to grow on me a bit.) This guy has such a nice vibe that I feel was missing in my musical library and I'm glad I was able to fill that space. 02. James Bay Biggest Hit: Let It Go || Favorite Song: Scars In 2016 I listened to Chaos and the Calm, but I was too late to add it to my Best Albums list (it would've definitely been top 10.) Now this year I was on time, prepared and ready for whatever. The lead single slightly disappointed me at first, then he quickly moved on to PInk Lemonade, which is one of his best songs yet. Electric Light came out and after a few plays, it was already on par with his debut. It does a great job at mixing the "classic" James Bay style with several sounds he tested for the first time. 01. Troye Sivan Biggest Hit: YOUTH || Favorite Song: FOOLS or My My My! I mean, what can I say about Troye at this point? He already blew it out of the water with Blue Neighbourhood three years ago, and in 2018 he proved to us that he wasn't some one-album wonder. The road to Bloom was long and grueling (plus there were too many pre-release tracks), but I'd be lying if I said the wait wasn't worth it. Now I'd officially consider him to be one of my all-time favorites. REPLIES - DAY 6 PART 3: 20 hours ago, lhdang2000 said: 5SOS's album is amazing. I never thought I would love them this much because I hate SLSP (I still hate it a lot. ) SINGLES: Youngblood > Want You Back tho. Whattt! noT one of their best songs from their best album Can't agree I think Youngblood (song) is a bit overrated overall. 19 hours ago, kelly-clarkson said: Tea! Radioactive is that song The lyric video of WLM is cute but a bit forgettable IMO. Of course! Well I mean, aren't they all? Except for ones that are better than the music video 17 hours ago, ColdKeane said: CHVRCHES and Twenty One Pilots slaying in your top As they deserve to 17 hours ago, Staryu said: Stan for Clearest Blue and I'd agree with others that their albums get a little worse each time but they're still good They snapped on that one Makes me wanna rave or something. Yeah, I'm definitely in the minority on that one 17 hours ago, potent said: Youngblood is one of my least favorite hits of the year I liked SSLP and Amnesia better noT of the whole year! And same, actually 15 hours ago, Ewan Chaos said: Wow Caught in the Middle is like one of the best songs from that album. Glad you see the light - I feel it's SO underrated. CHVRCHES >>> Scottish excellence, even if I may personally not be SUPER into Love is Dead. I'm pretty sure it started out in my top 3 from AfLaf but got kicked out after a few plays. Still love it, of course According to this section, you're certainly not alone But apparently I'm the only one that thinks it's their best album! 1 hour ago, TheWayWeWere said: Ignore Me should've sneak into top 40 Nostalgia is a massive grower The top 40 ignored ha, just like she asked Oh wow, It was instantly a FN standout for me! 1 hour ago, theblackestday said: OMG stan Caught in the Middle the most underrated song on After Laughter and in my top 3 perfection It started out in my top 3 back when the album came out but it didn't really last long, I agree it's underrated for sure! 53 minutes ago, Dom said: Best Lyric video that woman like me one? what sis. have you not seen much lyric mv's yesterday. or are you just doing nicki minaj propaganda, i see u. uh. Remmy Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 Best Females This is ranked by a mix of how much I enjoyed their 2018 material and the level of impact they had on my year. 05. Sigrid Biggest Hit: Strangers || Favorite Song: Sucker Punch She's only got 2 EPs out but Sigrid is showing a lot of potential so far. If she continues to serve quality like this, then expect Sucker Punch (out March 1st) to be high on my Best Albums list next year. Also, her single choices are on fire. 04. Allie X Biggest Hit: Paper Love || Favorite Song: Too Much to Dream (maybe?) She was all over my Best of 2017 after I obsessed over CollXtion I and II, now she's gonna be all over my Best of 2018 for topping herself AGAIN. SUPER SUNSET is an incredible EP and though it's easy for me to say "I don't know how she can do better", I'm already expecting the next project to be her best yet. 03. Janelle Monáe Biggest Hit: We Are Young (w/ fun.) || Favorite Song: Make Me Feel While some are disappointed with the way her sound has changed, Dirty Computer is something I never knew I needed. It's musically right up my alley and I had it on repeat all year round, which was unexpected going into this year. The GP may have paid her dust once again, but we got an amazing album and solid visuals so it's truly their loss. 02. Ariana Grande Biggest Hit: Problem (soon to be tu,n?) || Favorite Song: Thinking Bout You While Ariana has been popular since her Nickelodeon days, I think this is the first year where she was legitimately EVERYWHERE. You couldn't go a day without seeing or hearing her name, especially when she teased her comeback single. 2018 has been a rough one for her but success-wise, she's at the top of her game. Though I thought Sweetener was under- whelming (if I loved it she probably would've been #1) and I'm not *super* excited for the next album, I'm still watching and listening just like everyone else. 01. Lady Gaga Biggest Hit: Her discography || Favorite Song: The Edge of Glory Gaga is the first one to top this list twice (she also got blocked 2 times) and this time it's definitely most deserved. The beginning half-ish of the year didn't have much going on, but everything changed once A Star Is Born's trailer dropped. Ever since then, it's just been a whirlwind of constant love, praise and attention. She's snatched plenty of awards (with more to come), became the queen of TABS, secured her bag and now everyone's waiting to see what her next move is - and honestly, it's been a while since that's happened. REPLIES - DAY 7 PART 1: 2 hours ago, Bxtch said: Yess it's what he deserves! twink excellence he's not a twink he's a muscle daddy show some respect! 1 hour ago, Staryu said: Yas Kings Brendon and Troye, both had great 2018s For sure
