Staryu Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 I really want to see Paddington 2 because of all the good reviews but haven't got around to it yet. Black Panther and Crazy Rich Asians are probably overrated b/c people are so happy to see the diversity but I still really enjoyed them Liberation and Shawn Mendes were okay albums
potent Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Liberation Masochist is the best track though wyd? Trench was cute but I don’t remember some of the songs tbh.

Remmy Posted January 5, 2019 Author Posted January 5, 2019 Time for Day 23 Gonna do the same thing I did yesterday, then my updates will (likely) be back to normal for the final 3 days. Here's my plan: January 6th || Best Films (#07-04) • Best Songs (Pre-2018) [#20-11] • Best Albums (#07-04) January 7th || Best Songs (Pre-2018) [#10-01] • Best Films (#03-01) • Best Albums (#03-01) January 8th || END CREDITS: Best Films (Pre-2018) [#29-01] • Best Albums (Pre-2018) [#35-01] • Recap Post Best Films [[ #12 - 08 ]] 12. The Spy Who Dumped Me [B+] 11. Deadpool 2 [B+] 10. Game Night [B+] This trio is so much fun and each one features a lovable main cast that will keep you consistently laughing. I just think there's a tiiiny bit of something missing from them, and it's hard to pinpoint what that is. Though with Deadpool 2 specifically, I will say that I was slightly underwhelmed after the final preview ranked #1 on my Best Trailers list, and Deadpool was in my 2016 Best Films runner-up spot. 9. Ralph Breaks the Internet [A-] 8. Ant-Man and the Wasp [A-] Both of these are very solid sequels that are better than their predecessors (which were also quite good.) They took the same characters and put them in new situations that kept me completely entertained. I especially wasn't expecting Ant-Man 2 to be near this spot, but it really had me on a high speed ride up until the credits started rolling. BEST FILMS (so far): Top 33 Spoiler 33. The Disaster Artist [C+] 24. Crazy Rich Asians [B-] 23. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle [B-] 22. Bohemian Rhapsody [B-] 21. Call Me By Your Name [B.] 20. Won't You Be My Neighbor? [B.] 19. Remmy Posted January 5, 2019 Author Posted January 5, 2019 Best Albums [[ #14 - 08 ]] 14. MØ 'Forever Neverland' [[Great]] Trinity: 1. Blur • 2. If It's Over • 3. Nostalgia Bottom 3: 10. Purple Like the Summer Rain • 11. Mercy • 12. Trying to Be Good The first album I've heard from her. It's pretty fun and satisfying, there's 2 slower songs that kinda mess up the flow (and are simply not as strong overall) but aside from that, there's plenty on here to keep you happy. 13. Various Artists 'The Greatest Showman: Reimagined' [[Great]] Trinity: 1. A Million Dreams • 2. Never Enough • 3. The Greatest Show (Panic!) Bottom 3: 11. The Greatest Show (Pentatonix) • 12. Come Alive (Craig David) • 13. Rewrite the Stars The original soundtrack is unbothered, this one is still nice though! Well, the deluxe tracks are pretty useless. P!nk easily did the best job and picked the best song to cover as well. 12. Panic! at the Disco 'Pray for the Wicked' [[Great]] Trinity: 1. (F*ck a) Silver Lining • 2. Hey Look Ma, I Made It • 3. Say Amen (Saturday Night) Bottom 3: 9. Roaring 20s • 10. King of the Clouds • 11. The Overpass It's not really anything new from Brendon, but it's strong enough and might round out my Panic! discography trinity (still trying to decide whether it's better than DoaB.) 11. Jon Bellion 'Glory Sound Prep' [[Great]] Trinity: 1. Blu • 2. The Internet • 3. Mah's Joint Bottom 3: 8. Let's Begin • 9. Cautionary Tales • 10. Adult Swim His 2016 release, The Human Condition, was excellent and one of my favorite albums of that year. While I'll admit Glory Sound Prep is a step down from that, it's not a far fall down. There's a nice amount of experimenting on here and Jon is still at the top of his game in terms of producing. 10. Kacey Musgraves 'Golden Hour' [[Amazing]] Trinity: 1. Oh, What a World • 2. Happy & Sad • 3. Love Is a Wild Thing Bottom 3: 10. High Horse • 11. Golden Hour • 12. Rainbow This came out in MARCH and I only listened to it in DECEMBER. I'm a fool! It already reached my top 10 in those few weeks, imagine where this would be if I was actually on time... anyway, Kacey really did what she had to do. 9. Now, Now 'Saved' [[Amazing]] Trinity: 1. Window • 2. Holy Water • 3. Yours Bottom 3: 10. Saved • 11. Can't Help Myself • 12. Set It Free I've never even HEARD of them before 2018 and now they landed in my top 10 of the year, isn't that wild? This is an album full of Summery anthems that have such a nice vibe to them. Their sound is something my music library has been craving. 8. Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper 'A Star Is Born OST' [[Amazing]] Trinity: 1. Is That Alright? • 2. Always Remember Us This Way • 3. I'll Never Love Again Bottom 3: 14. Maybe It's Time • 15. Why Did You Do That? • 16. Before I Cry Surprise!!! You thought this was gonna be #1, or at least top 5? Well, you were wrong I loved this soundtrack a ton and there's so much to enjoy, but the remaining releases on this list were just too much competition for ha. Also, while I don't dislike my bottom 2, I do think they're slightly weak and sunk my score a little bit. BEST ALBUMS (so far): Top 36 Spoiler Boring AF: 36. Tinashe 'Joyride' Weak: 35. The Carters 'EVERYTHING IS LOVE' 34. cupcakKe 'Ephorize' 33. Nicki Minaj 'Queen' 32. Alessia Cara 'The Pains of Growing' 31. Ariana Grande 'Sweetener' Meh: 30. Kendrick Lamar & More 'Black Panther OST' 29. Fall Out Boy 'M A N I A' 28. Justin Timberlake 'Man of the Woods' 27. Lily Allen 'No Shame' 26. John Legend 'A Legendary Christmas' 25. ZAYN 'Icarus Falls' 24. Robyn 'Honey' 23. Imagine Dragons 'Origins' 22. Jess Glynne 'Always In Between' Good: 21. Various Artists 'Sierra Burgess Is a Loser OST' 20. Poppy 'Am I a Girl?' 19. Christina Aguilera 'Liberation' 18. Shawn Mendes 'Shawn Mendes' Nice: 17. twenty one pilots 'Trench' 16. Various Artists 'Love, Simon OST' 15. Kimbra 'Primal Heart' Great: 14. MØ 'Forever Neverland' 13. Various Artists 'The Greatest Showman: Reimagined' 12. Panic! at the Disco 'Pray for the Wicked' 11. Jon Bellion 'Glory Sound Prep' Amazing: 10. Remmy Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 Time for Day 24 Best Films [[ #07 - 04 ]] Getting closer to my absolute faves! [[ Eligiblity period: October 1st, 2017 - December 21st, 2018 ]] 07. Blockers [A-] Released: 04/06/2018 || RT: 83% / MC: 69 Starring: Leslie Mann, John Cena, Kathryn Newton Blockers had a spot in my top 3 for months though after my 2nd viewing, I didn't really enjoy it as much and had to knock it down. I still think it's a fun time, the plot may revolve around teenagers having sex but it's done in a way that's relatively fresh and modern. Pretty much the whole main cast did a solid job at playing into their roles. 06. Incredibles 2 [A-] Released: 06/15/2018 || RT: 94% / MC: 80 Starring: Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Eli Fucile (voices) Only took 'em 14 years but they finally gave us the sequel we've been asking for! I was pretty satisfied with this. I needed a few minutes to adjust to their new HQ looks, however the Parr family is still lovable and honestly, the pacing is way better than the original (though I'm not sure which film I prefer at this point.) 05. Coco [A-] Released: 11/22/2017 || RT: 97% / MC: 81 Starring: Anthony Gonzalez, Benjamin Bratt, Gael García Bernal (voices) This was actually my #1 for a large amount of the year. but at the end of the day I felt like my top 4 were slightly more enjoyable. When the trailer dropped I was drawing similarities to 2016's Moana, which I thought was very overhyped, but whew this one is way superior! I cried 3 times LOL! Probably in my Disney top 3 for the decade, not counting Pixar. 04. Mission: Impossible - Fallout [A-] Released: 07/27/2018 || RT: 97% / MC: 86 Starring: Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg I started the Mission: Impossible movies in 2015 when I watched 1-4 in the same night, and then went to see #5 in the afternoon... and wow this series is still so damn good. In fact, this is actually my favorite so far. The stakes are higher, there's more twists and the stunts are INSANE. Also, it really takes some talent to make a 2.5 HOUR MOVIE and have it not be boring at all. Plus Henry Cavill is at his peak hotness in this omg 6>4>3=5>>1>>>>2 BEST FILMS (so far): TOP 33 Spoiler 33. Downsizing [F+] 32. Venom [D-] 31. Christopher Robin [D+] 30. A Simple Favor [D+] 29.
