She has upbeat stuff as well (with dark messages, but still) - like COPYCAT, my boy, bellyache, you should see me in a crown... Anything that isn't at least top 5 or 10 is too low!!!!!!!!!!!

Remmy Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 Time for Day 20 "Best" Films [[ #28 - 25 ]] Here's the next set After this, everything else is a B- or above. [[ Eligiblity period: October 1st, 2017 - December 21st, 2018 ]] 28. The Greatest Showman [C] Released: 12/08/2017 || RT: 55% / MC: 48 Starring: Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron You may have seen the soundtrack all over my Best Of so far but don't get it twisted! The OST is very strong while the movie itself isn't so impressive. The performances (musical, not acting) are the main reasons to watch this, everything else is rather bland... and don't even get me started on how this makes P.T. Barnum look like a saint when he was confirmed trash. This actually started with a B- rating but everytime I thought about it, my opinion would get more and more sour. 27. Ocean's 8 [C] Released: 06/05/2018 || RT: 68% / MC: 61 Starring: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway (to name a few) Don't care for this series but with a cast like this, how I can resist? The heist part is really all that comes to mind when I think of Ocean's 8, because it was easily the most entertaining section (despite being significantly unrealistic.) The rest was mostly filled with missed opportunities, especially when you have this star-studded lineup to work with. 26. Red Sparrow [C+] Released: 03/02/2018 || RT: 46% / MC: 53 Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts Spy thrillers aren't really something I watch a lot of but that's the power of Jennifer Lawrence for ya! Red Sparrow was fine but I think my main issue is the pacing. This is incredibly sloooow. Something dark happens, then we go back to normal for a bit, and it's pretty much back-and-forth for over 2 hours. At least I could (generally) follow the plot without any issues, I didn't really get bored and I made it all the way through, so there's still some positives. 25. The Disaster Artist [C+] Released: 12/01/2017 || RT: 91% / MC: 76 Starring: James Franco, Dave Franco, Seth Rogen I watched The Room, the cinematic masterpiece this is based off of, right before this and I can say that James Franco did a really great job at impersonating Tommy Wiseau. Some of the other performances are solid/accurate as well, though his easily stands out the most. The Disaster Artist is very silly, which is a brand of comedy I'm not necessarily in love with, meaning the jokes didn't always land. It was also hard to take seriously when the movie took a more dramatic turn due to the lead characters we're dealt with. Things started off good but I felt myself losing interest along the way. Also I forgot to mention these last time~ Movies I stopped watching: Set It Up - Wasn't initially interested in watching this but after seeing the good reviews, I gave it a shot. Realized about 23 minutes in that I wasn't really feeling it and might as well give up early instead of letting myself get bored later on. Tag - The plot for this is interesting, especially since it's a true story, but it doesn't really translate well into movie form. Or at least not with this specific attempt. Not a lot of laughs, either... stopped at around 45 minutes. To All the Boys I've Loved Before - Cut it off at the 39 minute mark. There were times where I lowkey felt like I was too old to be watching this, even though I'm only 23. The 2 leads were actually pretty solid but not enough to keep me entertained and everything. Maybe I should just give up on Netflix rom-coms? REPLIES - DAY 19: Spoiler 15 hours ago, Lazuli said: ASIB Bloom Love Is Dead At least rep is top 10 Drag EIL OK but what is Sweetener doing there sis? CHVRCHES your #1 artist? I am shook tbh! Your top 5 most played tracks are a slay tho Well rep was the only one out of my whole 2017 list to make it here, so I'd say top 10 is really great Okay at you loving my top 3 and my top 5 from another list, guess I snapped Sweetener's low placement is DESERVED and I won't let you tell me otherwise Kinda same, I wasn't expecting someone I just discovered this year to outpeak artists I already love 15 hours ago, Kiss It Better said: ASIB won Dirty Computer in the top 5 reputation in the top 10 We love modern classics 10 hours ago, kelly-clarkson said: Pray For The Wicked it's amazing Yes she's great! 8 hours ago, Navyofbadgals said: Dirty Computer is my most played 2018 album guess we both sorta snapped though ANTI is my most played album in 2018 if you get what I mean Yes we did sfjidsfj well that doesn't surprise me 4 hours ago, Dom said: YASSS AT ASIB, GAGZ DID THAT AND BRADLEY. lhdang2000 Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I thought Bloom was going to be your #1. reputation + The Greatest Showman OST + Youngblood + Dirty Computer top 10. TATBILB is cute. I agree with TGS, the soundtrack is the best thing coming out from it. I had a good time with Ocean's 8.

Remmy Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 "Best" Albums [[ #30 - 27 ]] 30. 'Black Panther OST' [[Meh]] By: Kendrick Lamar & More | Released: 02/09/2018 Trinity: 1. Pray for Me • 2. X • 3. Opps Bottom 3: 10. Bloody Waters • 11. Redemption • 12. Seasons I can't say I listen to a lot of modern rap/R&B but there's some solid stuff on here. I just feel like almost the entire second half (sans PFM) is not really my cup of tea, plus there's several songs that are at least 20 seconds too long and could've been cut down. [Fun fact: This was actually at #35 days ago but it got a boost after I gave some tracks another listen.] 29. 'M A N I A' [[Meh]] By: Fall Out Boy | Released: 01/19/2018 Trinity: 1. Young and Menace (don't @ me) • 2. Champion • 3. The Last of the Real Ones Bottom 3: 8. Church • 9. Heaven's Gate • 10. Bishops Knife Trick 28. 'Man of the Woods' [[Meh]] By: Justin Timberlake | Released: 02/02/2018 Trinity: 1. Morning Light • 2. Breeze Off the Pond • 3. Filthy (don't @ me) Bottom 3: 13. Man of the Woods • 14. Wave • 15. Supplies 27. 'No Shame' [[Meh]] By: Lily Allen | Released: 06/08/2018 Trinity: 1. Pushing Up Daisies • 2. Three • 3. Higher Bottom 3: 11. Everything to Feel Something • 12. Your Choice • 13. What You Waiting For? I'm gonna bundle all of these together since they're pretty much on the same level. These 3 albums are fine but compared to other projects they've done, they're definitely disappointing and forgettable. Out of all 39 tracks, there's only one I'd consider to be a 10/10. Then there's a good dozen or so that feel like fillers, then another group that are listenable but I don't care to go back to, etc. Do better next time! That's the end of day 20! Check out page 1, post #2 for links to every update.
Mr. Loco Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 This year had great soundtracks tbh, Black Panther is one of those, it had some great tracks!
Green Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I liked a few songs from Man of the woods but the album was very forgetable to be honest.
ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted January 3, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted January 3, 2019 YASSS stan for Daddy Issues I Did Something Bad is a bop 1 hour ago, Remmy said: Filthy (don't @ me)
potent Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I know Black Panther and MOTW and I might’ve placed them a little higher, but they definitely could’ve been better too. Breeze off the Pond is a highlight for sure, it kinda gives me Rock Your Body teas. Yeah I would say that Young and Menace is a little overhated, it wasn’t lead single material but it’s not really one of the worst songs of 2017 like some people say.
Staryu Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 yas @ Bloom being your #2 most played album the album made me love Troye so much, ASiB I agree about the Greatest Showman, performances are good, the movie itself is not great, they could have easily made the movie about a fictional person and not PT Barnum Delicate, Anywhere, Rollercoaster, Black Panther OST all good
Lazuli Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Sigrid #1 hmmm Delicate should've been #1!!! Daddy Issues Ready To Go is an interesting P!ATD choice! Clearest Blue slaying Only their best song ever Wtf is Warning Call tho why haven't I ever heard of it Sugarboy does not deserve to be your 2nd most listened to St. Vincent song, but Pills does Did you just put the BP soundtrack below awful albums by FOB and JT? This is RACISME
