The commercial reception of Dangerous Woman was often considered cold. Its 4,6 million equivalent album sales to date surely prove otherwise. Sure, it is lower than My Everything, but it was easily strong enough to grant a heavy anticipation for her upcoming era which keeps her hey-days well alive.

With the solid contribution of her orphan songs too, Grande has now amassed 18,36 million equivalent album sales. It’s a wonderful total for a singer who has only been around since 2013. It must be noted that 41% of her sales come via streaming, the highest share of this format among all artists studied so far. It is far from being a negative indicator. Streaming figures are the most representative of what’s truly hot at the moment, which is highly promising for her future.

I asked him on Twitter and this is what Chartmasters said 

“As I said in a recent comment, the IFPI stated roughly 875,000 units for 2016 (rounded 900k, but it was the 4th lowest out of the 5 albums with an amount at 900k). Then, those units refer to shipments. A good chunk of 2017 sales were shipped during 2016's Xmas season. In the US, it shipped over 360,000 last year (retail sales at 322,000) and under 40,000 units this year (retail sales 68,000 units), thus adding roughly 10% new shipments on top of its previous total of about 875,000 units”

 

then I brought up Mediatraffic and how I always thought it was at least at 1M pure he said that he inflates sales for clicks and then said  

 

“If it is only consolation, the same is true for all artists. Rihanna's ANTI was on 1.459.000 @mediatraffic, but it shipped 1,1m. Sia was shown with 1.337.000 sold while she shipped 1,2m, Red Hot Chili Peppers on 1.256.000 with 1m shipped, etc. Nowadays pure sales of 960,000 units for an artist who's target audience relies mostly on streaming is very solid!”

It's true that her streaming stats are impressive. That first paragraph is kinda complicated to read tho. In brief, 0.9 million was shipment, not actual sales?

The values of the sales of albums of Mexico and the Chinese sales of Dangerous Woman (170k) that do not include, i just put them. Until this year, Mexico did not use sps in certificates, only downloads + shipments, brazil too.
