Chart Notes:

  • The Chicks have earned their first number one ever on this chart, as "March March" slides up 6 spaces from 7-1 in its 5th week. Not counting songs that debut after 3 days and then rise to #1 after their first full week on the chart, this makes it the fastest climb to the top since Dua Lipa's "Physical," which also did so in its fifth week. Also, The Chicks make their start on the chart with "Sleep At Night," making them the first country group to chart more than one single at the same time since Lady A (then-named Lady Antebellum) did so with "Just A Kiss (#1)" and "We Owned the Night (#8)" in 2011.
  • Speaking of simultaneous charting entries, five other acts are also charting with more than one single: 100 gecs, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, and Kero Kero Bonito. Technically, the Hamilton actors (Leslie Odom, Jr., Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Phillipa Soo) are also all involved in the recording of "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story," even though they are not individually credited, which debuted at #40 after several weeks of being on deck to do so.
  • The Hamilton Soundtrack earns its third top ten with Phillipa Soo's recording of "Burn" rising 14-10 this week. This makes it the first soundtrack album for a Broadway musical to have more than 2 top tens in over 12 years. In 2008, the soundtrack for Wicked had five top ten hits: "Defying Gravity (Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, and Wicked OBC; #1 [5wks])," "Popular (Chenoweth; #3)," "Overture/No One Mourns The Wicked (Chenoweth, Sean McCourt, Cristy Candler, Jan Neuberger, and Wicked OBC; #7)," "For Good (Menzel and Chenoweth; #5)," and "The Wizard and I (Menzel and Carole Shelley; #9)."
  • "Antisocialist" becomes Asking Alexandria's first top ten, lifting 11-9. In doing so, they become the first Active Rock group to do so with an original song in 5 years. In 2015, Bring Me The Horizon reached #6 with "Throne." In 2016, Disturbed hit #4 with their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence," and in 2018, Bad Wolves hit #10 with their cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie."
  • Conan Gray's "Maniac" dipping down 2-3 makes him the third solo male act to peak at #2 this year. Harry Styles did so with "Adore You," and Trevor Daniel also did so with "Falling."

To Debut (On Deck):

What's Your Pleasure? - Jessie Ware
Fade Away - Hannah Diamond
Parasite Eve - Bring Me The Horizon

Chart Notes:

  • With the 25-1 rise of the BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez collaboration "Ice Cream," both acts get their third and second #1 respectively. The last time the K-Pop girl group earned a #1 was with "Kiss and Make Up (with Dua Lipa)" in 2018, with their other chart topper being "As If It's Your Last" in 2017. Gomez last hit #1 on the chart in 2016 with "Same Old Love."
  • The Killers earn their first top ten since 2012 ("Runaways" #8), as "My Own Soul's Warning" lifts 14-9. Overall, this is their fourth top ten, with "When You Were Young" being #10 in January 2007 dating back to the first chart. To commemorate the occasion, here is the top ten from the inaugural chart entry at the time.

Chart Notes:

  • American electronic duo 100 gecs earn their second #1 with "hand crushed by a mallet (Remix)" sliding up 2-1 after 9 weeks in the top 20. This makes them the first duo to go #1 with their first two entries, and the first duo to earn multiple #1s consecutively since The Chainsmokers did it with "Paris" and "Something Just Like This (with Coldplay)" in 2017. The remix also gives Craig Owens (of Chiodos fame) and Nicole Dollanganger their first number ones, and Fall Out Boy their fifth. Fall Out Boy's previous chart-toppers include "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" (2007), "Thnks fr th mmrs" (2008), "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light 'Em Up)" (2013), "Centuries" (2015), and "Uma Thurman" (2015).
  • The turnover rate for number ones has been the highest the chart has seen since 2017, with a different song occupying the top spot each week for five consecutive weeks.

                                                   2017:

Date Song Artist
Mar. 26 Something Just Like This The Chainsmokers and Coldplay
Apr. 2 Symphony Clean Bandit featuring Zara Larsson
Apr. 9 Something Just Like This The Chainsmokers and Coldplay
Apr. 16 Sign Of The Times Harry Styles

  • 100 gecs also earn their third top ten this week, as "xXXi_wud_nvrstøp_ÜXXx (Remix)" featuring Tommy Cash and Hannah Diamond cross the threshold by four space from 12-8. This would also be the first top ten for both featured acts.
  • With "Dynamite" leaping forward from 15-10, BTS earn their fifth top ten. Previous hits include "MIC Drop (Remix)" with Steve Aoki and Desiigner (#6, 2016), "DNA" (#1, 2017), "Fake Love" (#3, 2018), and "Boy With Luv" with Halsey (#1, 2019).
