Previous number ones had only been one or two weeks for either artist, with "Summer" (2014) and "Feels" (2017) each getting a single week, and "New Rules" managing two weeks earlier this year. This week, Cardi B posts 4 simultaneously charting singles as "Ring (feat. Kehlani)" debuts at 37 following its announcement as the follow-up single to former 3-week #1, "I Like It" (with J Balvin and Bad Bunny). American band Weezer gets their first top ten on the chart with their cover of Toto's "Africa." Since the majority of their career predates the existence of this chart, it is probable that their earlier hits, such as "Buddy Holly," "Island In The Sun," and "Beverly Hills," would have been easy top 10s (perhaps even #1s). Previously, their highest charting effort was also a cover. Of Muppets fame, "Rainbow Connection (feat. Hayley Williams" (2011) peaked at 12. Other efforts include "Back To The Shack" (2014, [#20]) and "Thank God For Girls" (2016, [#17]). Also, lead singer Rivers Cuomo has previously attained two top 10s as a featured act: B.o.B.'s "Magic" (2010, [#6]) and AJR's "Sober Up" (2017, [#9]]). Travis Scott earns the highest debut with "SICKO MODE" featuring uncredited contributions from fellow rapper Drake as it bows on the chart at #9. This is Scott's first charting song as a lead artist. Previously, he had reached as high as #5 as a feature on SZA's "Love Galore" in 2017. Edited August 18, 2018 by ClashAndBurn
potent Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 The fact that the Africa cover is giving them their biggest hit in a decade It's okay but it doesn't really compare to the original. In My Feelings climbing

"Barbie Dreams" is the highest debut for Minaj since David Guetta's "Hey Mama" (also featuring Bebe Rexha and Afrojack) which was a 3-week chart topper in 2015. Bebe Rexha earns her fourth number one as "I'm a Mess" slides in to replace the 4-week chart leader "One Kiss." Her previous number ones have been (as mentioned previously) "Hey Mama" by David Guetta (also featuring Nicki Minaj and Afrojack) [2015], "Me, Myself, & I" with G-Eazy [2016], and "Meant To Be" featuring Florida Georgia Line [2018]. As such, "Mess" becomes Rexha's first number one with no additional vocalists featured on it. The last song by a single solo artist to reach the top was "Makes Me Feel" by Janelle Monae, which topped for one week the week dated May 13, 2018. All other number ones since then have either been collaborations or by groups. "Youngblood" becomes 5 Seconds Of Summer's first top ten hit in almost 4 years. Their last top ten hit was "Amnesia" [#6] in 2014. Their debut hit, "She Looks So Perfect," peaked at #4 earlier in the same year, and "Don't Stop" peaked at #10. ClashAndBurn Posted June 22, 2020 Author Posted June 22, 2020 First update in almost two years. Just going to do a Top 20 for now. Might be easier to manage for the time being. I'll try to remember to put the current week's up, but this is the chart for the week ending June 14th (last Sunday). Position Song Artist Peak 1 eight IU featuring Suga 1 (x1) 2 Falling Trevor Daniel 2 3 Rain On Me Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande 1 (x2) 4 Bad Friend Rina Sawayama 4 5 Roses (Remix) SAINt Jhn x Imanbek 5 6 In Your Eyes The Weeknd 6 7 What If I Told You That I Love You Ali Gatie 5 8 Savage Megan Thee Stallion (solo or w/ Beyonce) 1 (x3) 9 Be Kind Marshmello and Halsey 9 10 Heartless Diplo with Julia Michaels and Morgan Wallen 10 11 death bed (coffee for your head) Powfu featuring beabadoobee 1 (x1) 12 Supalonely BENEE featuring Guy Dapperton 3 13 Rockstar DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch 13 14 Watermelon Sugar Harry Styles 10 15 Adore You Harry Styles 2 16 Say So Doja Cat 1 (x2) 17 Summer Feelings Lennon Stella featuring Charlie Puth 17 18 In Your Arms Illenium and X Ambassadors 4 19 Boss Bitch Doja Cat 14 20 You should be sad Halsey 1 (x1) CHART NOTES: "eight" climbs to the top of the chart, making a first for both IU and Suga (as a solo artist). For IU, her previous peak would have been "BBIBBI" at 35 in 2018. Suga has previously had two chart-toppers as a member of his K-Pop superstar group, BTS: "DNA" in 2017 and "Boy With Luv" in 2019. This also marks his first entry as a solo act. "Rain On Me" drips out from the top spot. Two weeks prior, it became Lady Gaga's first number one on my personal charts since "The Edge Of Glory" in 2011. Since then, the closest she had reached was with "Always Remember Us This Way" at #5 in 2019. Other #1s for Lady Gaga have included "Just Dance (featuring Colby O'Donis)," "Poker Face," "Paparazzi," "Bad Romance," "Telephone (featuring Beyonce)," and "Born This Way." For Ariana, this was her fifth chart topper, following "Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)," "Love Me Harder (with The Weeknd)," "Side To Side," and "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored." Rina Sawayama's "Bad Friend" vaults into the top 5 with a bullet at #4. She becomes the first female solo singer to do that with a first-charting single since Lizzo made it with "Juice" last year in 2019. Her older singles from SAWAYAMA are also eligible charting contenders, but have not yet made it onto the tally. Maybe that will change next week! Diplo's "Heartless" collaboration with Morgan Wallen and Julia Michaels becomes the first EDM+country crossover collaboration to reach the top ten since Marshmello and Kane Brown managed to do so with "One Thing Right" [#6]. A tangentially-related endeavor was also done with Zedd's "The Middle" with Grey and Maren Morris, which went #1, but that record was purely a dance-pop-oriented one, with no real country influences. Harry Styles previously debuted with "Watermelon Sugar" when it was merely a promotional single, but with its full commercial release, it is making its climb up the charts, passing previous top 3-peaking single, "Adore You." Fun fact: The Miley Cyrus single with the exact same name also peaked at #3 in 2014.

potent Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Not familiar with that #1, but I listened to Bad Friend just this week and I liked it In Your Eyes, Supalonely, Watermelon Sugar
ClashAndBurn Posted June 23, 2020 Author Posted June 23, 2020 1 hour ago, potent said: Not familiar with that #1, but I listened to Bad Friend just this week and I liked it In Your Eyes, Supalonely, Watermelon Sugar IU and Suga are K-Pop so I don't imagine it's your thing, haha. The song's a lot better than her last single I listened to though, and what I've heard from her in general. K-Pop doesn't necessarily flood my chart either, but when I like it enough for it to even chart, it usually performs well, except in certain cases like "BBIBBI" and j-hope's "Chicken Noodle Soup," which both sorta... debuted not super high and fell off because they just didn't really stick with me. As you can see, "eight" would be the only entry here, though on a related note, Gaga and BLACKPINK's "Sour Candy" would be here most likely if I had extended it to a Top 40. Listened to it a lot during Chromatica's release week so it would have easily been showing in the top ten if I'd released a chart that week as well, but didn't get around to it.
