Anyway, hoping Nicki can debut Top 10. Did ya have to be so passive aggressive and not quote them when shading them. i"ll say that the discussion is interesting and I am glad streaming is included but still not ok with the double counting and assumption basis It would be great if they retroactively included streaming from the past since they are updating certifications with streams. shape of you should go 7x platinum in the end. could be a diamond single
Felipesf Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 NF debuted with 9 million on mediabase. 783K plays on Spotify US. Predicted to sell 134K.

It also didn't anticipate the unlimited supply of tracks that the digital and streaming era created when the Hot 100 was changed singles to songs. ehen the change was made BB should have renamed the chart. Leaving the historic Hot 100 alone and in the past, just as they did when they renamed and put to rest the Top 100 when thst radical change was made. dont get me wrong, I am not some elitist historian. I was around when Debbie Boone came out of nowhere and set the weeks at number one record. When Le Freak returned to #1 for the third time. When Thriller came along, and OSD. I want records to be broke. I've looked forward to so,Rome breaking the Beatles 1-5 record. But I don't want it done like this. I don't want it done due to marketing, chart glitches, or unforeseen loopholes. I want it done by some act coming along thst is so big it can land 6 different released official singles from 1-5 on the charts. You're OLD we get it. Sometimes we do things differently than we did 30 years ago. However I would agree Apples should be compared to Apples. I'd say pre- and post digital era. Billboard reports on the most popular records week to week. Radio stations don't operate under that scenario. They operate under a what's the least offensive scenario. Radio operates with payola deals and the like... So there fore radio should be deleted from the HOT 100 equation. Users don't get to chose their music. How do we know it's popular? Also the streaming numbers are verified listens. We guesstimate audience numbers. There is no truth to those numbers. I don't believe for a second 100 million listeners are listening to a song. Radio = lots of guess work and payola ... fudge factor Streaming and Sales = concrete trackable data Edited March 11, 2017 by Adonis

It doesn't matter if people like a song or not it is if they hear it. the radio audience numbers are s big business that has been more than proven with statistics for decades. Ow wait, can't claim decades, that's old stuff, it doesn't count anymore. I forgot, old age and all ya know. Radio is all people had before. Now there are new and better ways to accomplish the same thing. Radio being included on charts is based on if people like a song they will listen to it. Data shows that people who listen to radio listen because of things other than the music. So how can you claim it's an indicator of what is popular?

With streaming and bots and playing on repeat while not even at the computer especially laughable. This and I appreciate you taking the high road in general... I mean so many elements can be manipulated but I value streaming more and more as the weeks go by and it's incorporation into the charts...just think the double counting part is sketchy. Chainsmokers really aren't playing. All these males taking over in 2017.
fridayteenage Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 T15 in most components in last updates (spotify/youtube/itunes/radio): 4/4 Ed, 4/4 Taylor, 3/4 Bruno, 3/4 Chainsmokers’ Paris

Which means pop is in desperate need of a new wave of pop girls as the current girls don't have that "it factor" like past generations Madonna/Janet/Whitney/Paula/Cyndi Mariah/Celine/Alanis/Sheryl/Shania Britney/Pink/Xtina/Alicia/Beyonce/Jennifer Rihanna/Taylor/Gaga/Katy/Adele and now there's Selena/Ariana/Miley/Meghan/lorde Wow one of these groups doesn't look like the other. I just got why there is more of a struggle In any event, a new wave of pop stars will come and wreck shop. For now Ed, Bruno, both Justins, Maroon 5, Drake and chainsmokers remain running the game

fridayteenage Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 (edited) Well Taylor is 3/4 T10, so drop Paris and she's still in the trinity with a better average than Bruno. But stay incredibly pressed I guess. Edited March 11, 2017 by fridayteenage

It's just incredibly transparent how you always manipulate your random receipts to Taylor right to her (no pun intended). I'm convinced your next post is gonna be "Most top 15 HDS weeks for a #2 peaking song by a blonde female country-pop crossover artist who's name starts with the letter T since 2004"

I'm not pressed, I literally love Taylor's music but in the Case of IDWLF she literally sings the bridge yet you all swear she's the only reason the song is seeing success and anyone who thinks it's equal is suddenly pressed. This is why swifties have an annoying reputation and I'll never consider myself one despite owning over half her work
