CSTF is irrelevant to the demographic that matters (12-49). It has to be kids and old people fueling it.

i highly doubt that 0-11 year olds and 50+ year olds are the ones who all have apple accounts and downloaded it 3 million times

I thought Billboard balanced out the Hot 100 formula so that sales would matter more irrespective of the fact that they're currently on its death bed? Why are they ranked so low? I presumed they didn't want streaming to dominate too much.

I thought sales would at least have a quota above 30% or so, unless I've misunderstood you.

in my own opinion, there's no really definite percentage cause it varies song to song.. that 22 percent sales and 49 prcent streams came from the overall concumption for that particular week tho.. but individually it differs.. like for Million Reasons assuming points of sales, radio & stream at  80,30,30 then that is 57% sales 21.5% radio and 21.5% streams (sales driven). for LOTB for ex. points are 40,150,60 then it's 16% sales 60% radio and 24% streams (radio driven).. basically differs every song.. not sure if this is really it...

about the hot100 formula.. they really changed it to give more points to sales like from 1 sale = 1 point, it is at 3 sales = 4 points accdg to @simmnfierzig

Justin's most iconic songs imo

Cry Me A River > Sexy Back > Rock Your Body > What Goes Around > CSTF > My Love > Mirrors

CSTF is just popular with kids. Nobody cares for this song.

SexyBack > Cry Me a River > What Goes Around...Comes Around > Rock Your Body > CSTF! > Mirrors > My Love

I'm not sure how to update without having the Spotify weekly chart :rip:

Could "Shape of you" get the #1 on Streaming Songs this week? Or maybe next week after the album release?

Yes those pesky "old folks"...

anyway the song spent ten weeks st number one on digital sales.  That wasn't driven by "old folks".

Yes, the song has been big in the adult community where it has spent 18 weeks st number one on the hot ac chart.

so thst shows its base is broad. Hot ac and sales, two different demographics.

ehst this says to me is we have a song that is a signature song to the general public, but is not his signature sing amongst fans and the average music follower.

Can't Stop The Feeling is popular with young people, yes, but not on the same level as SexyBack, etc. were imo.

I do think its popularity is fueled by people older than me. Also, the average age of people who downloaded on iTunes even at the peak of the digital age was in the early 30s (and also mostly females), according to the statistics we had. Now I'd expect it to be a bit older if anything. And someone who's, say, 35 years-old now would have been about 22 in 2003, they will be fully aware of downloading, if anything I think they might be the people who are still downloading now mostly, probably because they've been used to it for so long (even before iTunes, some people have been downloading their music since the late 90's), whilst the people who are currently 17 years-old will most likely have gone straight to streaming.

And again, Justin Timberlake IS popular with young people, but you have to remember who he is. Someone who's 13 years-old now might not have even been alive when Cry Me A River came out (a VERY scary thought!), and the girls who were teenagers when N Sync were big will be in their 30's now.

Again, he clearly is popular with teenagers, but not THAT much, I do think a large proportion of the success of CSTF is from the HAC/AC demographic.

He didn't update last 2 daily numbers because the official Spotify website didn't update last 2 daily numbers.

But yeah they have the weekly numbers :ahh:

Didn't even check, cause that makes absolutely no sense, but alright

This is true but he still has an appeal for many people. Big social media following and all.

Lorde's "Green Light" won't debut with 4 days of airplay, 1 day of sales and 1 day of streams?
