Changes a bit week to week and obviously extremely different from song to song. I thought Billboard balanced out the Hot 100 formula so that sales would matter more irrespective of the fact that they're currently on its death bed? Why are they ranked so low? I presumed they didn't want streaming to dominate too much. I thought sales would at least have a quota above 30% or so, unless I've misunderstood you. Edited March 2, 2017 by ParallelLines

So yeah they did, but not that much to make Million Reasons #1 or something.

How dare you smh Since their global smash sugar This Summer failed to follow the success, Feelings didn't chart, Dont Wanna Know topped the radio but still missed the top 5 and now colddddd enough to chew my bone but not hot enough to slay the charts
Tsuko Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 (edited) Well, people said Maroon 5 were over when Misery "under performed"... Then Moves Like Jagger happened. I wish Maroon 5 were over though. It's not worth it for 1 good song every 3 years. Edited March 2, 2017 by Tsuko
Fetish for MiMi Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 4 minutes ago, Henstridge said: This Summer was a terrible song that was NEVER going to smash, not to mention that it got a discount tour video and was pulled from the radio immediately (it wouldn't do well on radio anyway since the chorus was "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like A Mother****er"). Feelings was snubbed by themselves since it also got pulled from the radio immediately, they shot a video at Playboy Mansion, but never released it, and also never performed the song anywhere. They basically made it a single and just cancelled it. Don't Wanna Know SMASHED on radio. 9 weeks on top. Topped both Radio Songs and Pop Radio, also topped HAC. It sold decently, and stayed top 15 on spotify for almost it's whole run, but the video had 0 replay value and it's flopped on youtube, which really weakened it. Also, it did really good on Pandora, and missed top 5 by like 3-4 points. Cold still has time to become a hit. Give it a little more time, one The Voice performance and a discount would save it easily. But, if you say they are over, it must be true Sure lets give the song some time and hopefully im wrong about them being over
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 DWK spent 14 weeks in the top 10 and topped airplay. They are still very big lol

They are still very big lol Maroon 5 (Adam Levine) could fart on a mic and radio would still play it to death. They've been doing nothing but releasing forgettable radio music since 2011. I heard 'Payphone' yesterday while out and literally hadn't even thought about it for ages and it was a huge hit. That's basically how forgettable their music is now. 'Animals', 'Sugar' and 'Dont Wanna Know' are the same.
Rawr Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 maroon 5 is not as powerful as they were during overexposed that's just a fact
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 11 minutes ago, Rawr said: maroon 5 is not as powerful as they were during overexposed that's just a fact They were coming off of Moves Like Jagger and it was generally considered their "comeback" era + The Voice was arguably in its prime uprising era. Perfect formula for peak hype. Sugar may not have peaked as high as OMN, but I would argue Sugar is their biggest hit since MLJ and does arguably better with recurrent stats including its viral video. If we're talking memorable singles in 2017 from this decade I'd say: MLJ, Sugar, and fair to throw in OMN there as well. DWK proved that their hype is still enough to keep their name alive and well with the right song. Definitely in the Top 2(?) of most iconic bands this decade besides Coldplay,
Tsuko Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 (edited) PayPhone is possibly the worst song of Maroon 5's career. So awful, and it's one of their biggest hits, I just can't understand. Makes Me Wonder is probably my favourite song from them. Also, if we're talking about Moves Like Jagger, do people not realise that song went into free-fall on iTunes as well. It went to #1 as soon as it was released, then fell out of the top 50 in the space of about 2 weeks. Yet that song didn't flop in the end. It was back at #1 on iTunes later on.
