Went to her show last night at Central Park. I was happy she performed more White Chalk songs.

Well, White Chalk is low-key better than Stories.

I saw her live just over a month ago, even though the Hope Six tour is DOMINATED by that album (literally every song except the annoying Memorials one) which is not her best work by any means... I was still totally slayed and the 90s moments that she did do (TBYML and 50 Ft Queenie especially) still go mercilessly for the follicles.

Is This Desire? is my favourite album and I could (and have done) rant about that album for hours at a time, but To Bring You My Love is such a timeless well-rounded masterpiece that sometimes I wonder if it's my real favourite. The flawless spaghetti western pining anthems and the best closing song of all time The Dancer... wig.

The fact that she came back and delivered Let England Shake after 2 full decades in the game, it's probably my #3 favourite of everything she's done and I would argue one of her most accessible despite the granny vocals and really harsh imagery in the lyrics. And then you have Rid Of Me, White Chalk, ugh.

Ugh this bitch gives me everything I need.

An Is this desire stan? WIG Its also been my fave along with dry (but ITD is very underrated imo unlike dry which is beloved)

Hope Six is far from being her worst though. I even prefer it to LES.

True, but it's less unlistenable than White Chalk. I DON'T get the appeal.

She's great in a period horror movie soundtrack kind of way.

Obvs it doesn't compare to TBYML or ROM, but still.

Hope Six is a cute girl, even if I haven't listened to it since like, the month of the release.

The Wheel and Dollar, Dollar is such a 1-2 punch.

I love all of her albums honestly. My least favorite is Hope Six though. My favorite remains Is This Desire?

i've been spamming myself with her earlier albums since i only ever SERIOUSLY got into Let England Shake/Stories. i saw her too last weekend and kdsdv she really puts on a spectacle!! i find A Place Called Home so underrated. there's something so atmospheric about the entire Stories album though i can't quite describe the place it takes me

@HonourableVomit your ranking?? :thing:

Yaaasss there's nothing like seeing her live! The H6DP tour served choreo!

Albums ranking I THINK, I'm never sure:

Is This Desire?

To Bring You My Love

Let England Shake

White Chalk

Rid Of Me

The Hope 6 Demolition Project

Dry

Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea

Uh Huh Her

but honestly, UHH is the only one I can fault because of the utter lack of melodies in the mid-section (and even then there's a lot to like on that album) :weeps: The consistent QUALITY and each era having their own context, narrative & distinct sound is just too damn much to judge.

Also let me just recognise that there are many non-album GEMS

She's so soft spoken and articulate. Such a contrast to the stage persona.
