Of females under 30, only Taylor is the main artist on 2+ songs that cracked the top 2 in radio.

Let's see if that officially changes.

Yeah. I wish BB had allowed all the formats to chart from the beginning as soon as electronic detections were introduced to each format. The Hot 100 would've been more inclusive much sooner. But only T 40 & Rhythmic were electronically monitored from the beginning.

Had R&B been added earlier, Deborah Cox's Nobody's Supposed To Be Here and it's of 88 M AI total there about 2 wks before Urban's inclusion, Cox would've easily hit #1 instead of stalling at #2 for 8 wks. Sadly, several songs dropped 1-3 or rose 3-1 while Cox was repeatedly stuck at #2.

Also, had BB had switched to electolic monitoring right away, as was the BB 200 in May 1991, Bryan Adams would've had a chart life very similar to Boys To Men's I'll Make Love To You, and Houston would've probably tied Adams record. BB later said Adams would've been #1 10-16 weeks instead of just 7, Adams was selling 300k per week for several weeks, and was constantly setting airplay records (Houston shattered Adams records in late 1992-early 1993).

Actually, BB's first electronically monitored chart was Country in January 1990 because virtually every week had a new #1, followed by a big drop the next week. For example, BB showed one song (can't remember which one( that would've spent 5 wks at #1 followed by a 1-5 fall. Instead, it had 1 #1 week with a 1-15 drop. [b

]The labels hated this change, as they couldn't easily control the Country chart anymore. They thought chart control was more important than accuracy, and acted like spoiled brats when there weren't 50+ #1s each chart year.[/b]

But, as each format had been added as soon as it changed to spins/impressions, the H 100 would've been more accurate from the beginning. Everything except from Latin was added at the start of the 1999 CY. Latin was added in January/February 2000. BB added in AC and Alternative as soon as they switched to electronic detections. BB didn't spin off its HAC Airplay Chart right away. It was added in 1994/5 when BB realized the need for stations that were too AC for T 40, but too T 40 for AC.

wow wow wow

@ChartsFan is still arguing this nearly 30 years later :skull:

everyone thinking Whatever It Takes was the next #1, but it looks like Wait will leapfrog over it if we are going by recent upward trajectory. Moreover, Psycho is having insane gains and isn't too far behind it while the current #1 is still far ahead in spins
