Monky_2405 Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 WEEKS 131 Guys, I'm back from vacation and I'm now posting last week update, the next one should come, as always, on Thursday! In it's 9th week charting, "Senorita" goes back at #1 for a fifth week dethroning, for the second time, "You Need To Calm Down" (down at #2) and becoming the third song to ever come back at #1 in the history of this countdown. Normani's "Motivation" enters the chart at #6 with huge numbers, right above "SZNS" (#7), the latest single by Dinah Jane. "Small Talk" by Katy reaches top 10 in its second week climbing at #8. Miley Cyrus has her brand new single "Slide Away" debuting at #21 while "Lover", by Taylor Swift, enters the chart at #29. In the meantime the Lana Del Rey singles off the upcoming album Norman ****ing Rockwell! debut at #45, looking at "The Greatest", and at #81, looking at "**** It I Love You". If "Yo x Ti, Tu x Me" by Rosalia enters at #60, "Torn" by Ava Max, after just two days, enters as an early debut at #61. "Be Honest" by Jorja Smith debuts at #78. Monky_2405 Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 WEEKS 132 The week the Lover release and the VMAs happened is heavily influenced by the 2 events. The firs sign of it is "You Need To Calm Down" going back at #1 for a fifth week and dethroning "Senorita" a second time. The song benefits of both events, the release of Lover pushed it and the VMAs performance also helped. "Senorita" is down at #2, even tho its points increased thanks to the fact that also Shawn and Camila performed at the VMAs. "Boyfriend" is stable at #3 while Normani, after her gorgeous debut performance, has "Motivation" climbing at #4. "Small Talk" is up one spot at #7 while "Lover" enters the Top 10 at #8. The song also benefits of both the Lover release and the VMAs performance but also improved her performance thanks to the release of its music video. The music video premiere also helped "Higher Love" as the Kygo song featuring Whitney Houston goes back to the Top 10 at #10. "Slide Away" climbs at #16 while "Tonight" becomes Alice Chater's second Top 20 single, climbing at #18. "The Archer" rebounds climbing at #25. Speaking about VMAs effect, Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" re-enters the chart after the songstress took the stage in Newark and reaches a new peak at #28 (it previously peaked at #49), at the same time the "Good As Hell" single debuts at #40, in spite of being playlisted only after her performance on monday night. The VMAs also helped Rosalia scoring her second Top 40, "Yo x Ti, Tu x Me" benefits of the pefromance at the MTV show and climbs at #37. "Torn" by Ava Max, after its early debuts from last week, climbs (with a great jump) at #36 also with the help of its music video. "The Greatest" by Lana Del Rey jumpst at #33 while "**** It I Love You" jumps at #60 after the double-music video premiere. "Throw It Back" by Missy Elliott enters at #65, "I Warned Myself" by Charlie Puth is new at #72. "Shame On You" by Skylar Grey debuts at #86. It has to be noted that the VMAs affected brand new songs debuts and those songs might recover starting from next week. Monky_2405 Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 WEEKS 133 Sorry I'm Late guys! This one is the update from last week, I don't have much free time these days! In spite of any prediction, “Senorita” secures another week at the #1 spot, blocking Normani’s “Motivation” at #2. Other than Normani’s climb, no significant changes were made in the Top 5 this week, the only other exception is about "Lover" climbing at #5. Right outside the Top 5, “Small Talk” rises at #6, overtaking Perry’s previous single “Never Really Over” (down at #7). Kygo’s single “Higher Lover” show even more stability as it climbs at a new peak at #8. “Hot Girl Summer”, following the music video premiere, enters the Top 10 at #10. Right outside the Top 10, “Tonight” by Alice Chater keeps on climbing reaching a new peak position at #14 and Bebe Rexha debuts with her new song “Not 20 Anymore” at #39. Among debuts, Post Malone enters at #57 with “Circles” while the duo formed by Nina Nesbitt and John Newman places its brand new song “Without You” at #60. Fueled by the album release, the Lana del Rey singles are still growing ("The Greatest" ascends at #21 while "**** It I Love You" at #47) and “Doin’ Time” even re-enters at #67. Monky_2405 Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 WEEKS 134 A former Fifth Harmony member leaves the top spot and another former Fifth Harmony member takes it. As "Senorita" slips to #2, again, "Motivation" becomes the second #1 for Normani after just 4 weeks charting. So far Camila and Normani are the only Fifth Harmony members to have scored multiple #1s. "You Need To Calm Down" and "Boyfriend" are stable at their positions, occupying the #3 and the #4 spot, same for "Lover" stuck at #5. "Higher Love" keeps on climbing and reaches a new peak at #5, and if "Hot Girl Summer" stays into the Top 10 for a second week, climbing at #8, "Never Really Over" leaves it after 14 weeks, falling at #11. The fact the also "Goodbyes" leaves the Top 10, going down at #12, made room into the Top 10 for "Shameless", by Camila Cabello, as the top debut of the week at #9 and for "Slide Away" by Miley Cyrus, up at #10. Speaking of debuts, "Liar" enters the chart at #13, while Kelsea Ballerini has a really good start with "homecoming queen?" debuting at #26. At #33 we have Professor Green and Alice Chater with "Got It All", "Really don't like u" by Tove Love and Kylie Minogue, and "all good girls go to hell" by Billie Eilish, debut at #45 and #48 respectively. In spite of being released by the end of the tracking week, "holy terrain" by FKA twigs enters at #57, with a very good performance, the same happened for other two early debuts: "What You Did" by Mahalia and Ella Mai enters at #66 after the video premiere happened just a couple of days ago, while "2099" by Charli XCX and Troye Sivan enters the chart at #75 in spite of the tuesday release. Monky_2405 Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 WEEKS 135 While the whole Top 10 is evoling, Normani secures herself a second week at #1 with "Motivation", this is a first for Normani as her previous #1 single, "Love Lies", only spent 1 week at the top! With airplay increasing and most of the summer songs peaking and falling, "Lover" jumps from #5 to #2 and it's followed, at #3, by "Liar". The Camila Cabello's single jumps into the Top 10 after its video release from last week. "Liar"'s parent single, "Shameless", climbs at #5 from #9 while "Boyfriend" by Ariana Grande slips from #4 to #6. "Hot Girl Summer" is up one spot to a new peak at #7. "Don't Call Me Angel" enters the chart at #9 becoming Lana's first Top 10 single since "Lust For Life" and confirming Ariana and Miley's chart power. This week's countdown is being affected by the fact that we have 19 new entries, this started a freefall for old/peaking songs and since most of them are songs released mid-week and charting early we can expect another crazy update next week. Among debuts, in particular, we have: "Graveyard" by Halsey at #18, the great return of Ella Henderson that starts at #41 with "Glorious", Meghan Trainor with "Genetics" at #49 and "Hurts 2B Human" by P!NK and Khalid, playlisted last week and debuting this week at #46 after its video premiere.
