Graduation Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 (edited) AUGUST 20, 2022 Here's a look at what's on tap on this week's countdown... The eight-year gap between number one singles is the longest in countdown history. With "I Ain't Worried" landing at number one, the band also becomes just the fourth act to have number one singles in the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, joining Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Taylor Swift. FAREWELL TOUR Doja Cat's exit this week is the biggest surprise, but "Vegas" wasn't the only top five hit from a week ago to fall off the countdown this week. Last week's number five, Yung Gravy's "Betty (Get Money)," also fell off. Drake's "Sticky" slipped off the countdown this week, as did The 1975's "Happiness." NEXT WEEK'S STORYLINES Can Charlie Puth and Jung Kook make it back to #1? Will "I Ain't Worried" become the first song since March to make it to the top in back-to-back countdowns? And which of the three top five finalists with no previous experience at number one has the best chance of taking the countdown next week: Steve Lacy, Harry Styles, or Nicky Youre? Thank you for checking out this week's countdown and be on the lookout for an updated voting list soon! Have a great weekend! Edited August 20, 2022 by Graduation

Graduation Posted September 2, 2022 Author Posted September 2, 2022 SEPTEMBER 3, 2022 Here's a look at what's on tap on this week's countdown... RETURNS It's been a minute since we've gone a week without a countdown debut, but that's what happens this week. And yet there's still some new songs on the countdown this week as three former hits make a return. Doja Cat wakes up back in "Vegas" this week, Maggie Rogers is back with "Want Want," and Marshmello & Khalid's collaborative "Numb" kicks things off at #20. HOT/COLD Harry Styles spent last week in the freezer as "Late Night Talking" was the week's coldest video, but he thaws out in a big way this week as "Talking" is this week's hottest video. And after spending last week on top of the countdown, Steve Lacy suffers the biggest drop of the week, "Bad Habit" landing outside of the top ten. TOP 5 Charlie Puth, Nicky Youre and OneRepublic are all in the top five for a third week in a row, while Harry Styles is back with "Late Night Talking." FAREWELL TOUR As summer ends, so does the direction of the wind. At least here, as "Western Wind" drops off the countdown after an impressive 14-week run. The Black Eyed Peas and the Gorillaz are both gone as quickly as they came as both "DON'T YOU WORRY" and "Cracker Island" dip a week after debuting. NEXT WEEK'S STORYLINES Will the revolving door at number one continue next week, or will Nicky Youre and Dazy enjoy riding with the "Sunroof" down for a second week in a row? "Late Night Talking"s 11-spot leap this week has Harry Styles and his fans thinking brighter days are a week away, while the former #1 hits "I Ain't Worried," "Vegas," and "Left And Right" stand directly behind in the 5-4-3 positions. Will either be able to add a week at the top to their already impressive resumes? Thank you for checking out this week's countdown and be on the lookout for an updated voting list soon! Have a great weekend!

Graduation Posted September 9, 2022 Author Posted September 9, 2022 SEPTEMBER 10, 2022 Here's a look at what's on tap on this week's countdown... DEBUTS + RETURNS We do some fall cleaning this month, with a remarkable five songs debuting this week, and another two returning to action. Gorillaz and Thundercat are back after a one-week absence with "Cracker Island," while Yung Gravy is back for the first time since a three-week stint off the countdown with "Betty (Get Money)." The week's debuts come from The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Rosalia, Bad Bunny, and Kane Brown, who debuts with "Grand" just in time for the release of his Different Man LP. HOT/COLD "Late Night Talking"'s up-and-down countdown run continues, as Harry Styles' latest hit is the week's coldest video (maybe it's time to worry, darling?). Meanwhile, Lizzo has the hottest video of the week as "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" soars into the top five. TOP 5 Speaking of the top five, OneRepublic and Doja Cat are in the top five yet again, but there is a shakeup among the rest of the top five. While Lizzo ascends to the top five, we also have former number one hits from Imagine Dragons and Steve Lacy attempting to rekindle their flame with number one. Dazy Sunroof 9/3 FOR THE RECORD "I Ain't Worried" returns to the top spot for a second week. It's the first time a song has spent multiple weeks at number one since July 23, when Lizzo returned to the top for a fifth time with "About Damn Time." FAREWELL TOUR With so many debuts and returns this week, there are just as many songs to bid farewell to. In the most shocking disappearance, Charlie Puth and Jung Kook dropped off the countdown after spending ten weeks on the countdown with "Left And Right." Elsewhere, Jessie Ware dipped after three weeks on the chart with "Free Yourself," while Halsey ("So Good"), Carly Rae Jepsen ("Beach House"), Maggie Rogers ("Want Want"), Joji ("Glimpse Of Us") and Conan Gray ("Disaster") round out the songs falling off the countdown this week. NEXT WEEK'S STORYLINES Will OneRepublic's stress-free outlook help get them a third week at #1? In a battle between soundtrack singles, does Doja Cat's Elvis single have enough pelvic thrust to thwart OneRepublic's Top Gun: Maverick single's aerial attack? "Bad Habit" and "Bones" are very much in the mix to land a second week at the top, while "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" seeks to become the latest chart-topping single by Lizzo. Thank you for checking out this week's countdown and be on the lookout for an updated voting list soon! Have a great weekend!

DEBUTS Four songs debut this, including a top ten debut from BLACKPINK and "Pink Venom." Elsewhere, Lil Baby is back on the countdown, this time with "Detox," while we have the first ever appearance on the countdown from the Struts, while Tove Lo follows up "No Done Dies From Love" with her latest, "2 Die 4." HOT/COLD It's a complicated week for Doja Cat, who looked like a prime candidate for number one with "Vegas" a week ago. That isn't the case, as her Elvis single is the coldest song of the week. However, it isn't all bad news for Doja Cat, as her single with Post Malone, "I Like You (A Happier Song)," is the week's hottest hit. TOP 5 Post Malone and Doja Cat is hot enough to land in the top five, as is Bad Bunny. Mainstays OneRepublic and Steve Lacy are also there, as is Nicki Minaj. Dazy Sunroof 9/3 #1 THIS WEEK Nicki Minaj Super Freaky Girl 9/17 FOR THE RECORD "Super Freaky Girl" becomes the 360th song all-time to land at #1, and Nicki Minaj's seventh number one single. Remarkably, "Super Freaky Girl" is Minaj's first single to land at number one since 2016, when she was featured on Ariana Grande's "Side To Side." "Girl" is her first solo number one single since 2014's "Anaconda." FAREWELL TOUR It was a good run for Lizzo, but both "About Damn Time" and "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" dropped off the countdown this week. Gorillaz also departed with "Cracker Island," while Kane Brown's "Grand" fell off after one week. NEXT WEEK'S STORYLINES "Super Freaky Girl" has all the makings of a long-lasting stay at the top; will she be able to build on this week's performance? The eye-popping ascent from Post Malone and Doja Cat has "I Like You (A Happier Song)" thinking brighter days are ahead, while both Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK have aspirations for a first-ever (solo) week at number one. Will "Titi Me Pregunto" or "Pink Venom" succeed? Thank you for checking out this week's countdown and be on the lookout for an updated voting list soon! Have a great weekend!
