MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @PinkBox The lyrics are pretty good but every single verse and chorus starts with "I want to". It just gets old after the first couple times
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @Kylie Jenner Really good choice. Especially since Gaga's ballad aint' that great.
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @KatyCatPH YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Nailed it. Wide Awake's lyrics flow perfectly with the production, show a more mature side of Katy, closed the Teenage Dream era well, and everything just falls into place perfectly.
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @Fruity Also a great entry. The lyrics are well written and Madonna delivered them perfectly
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @Overprotected These lyrics show why Mariah is a good songwriter. She keeps you interested and the lyrics tell a great story here. Nice choice
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @Lukey Really decent lyrics, except for the fact that Lea thought it was a good idea to repeat the lyrics "We sounded like a good idea" six ****ing times. Those are the lamest lyrics of the entire round
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @EriKills Not bad but I feel like I wasn't really impressed
MusicLoverDude Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 @rooby.booby Don't quit please. Your entry wasn't bad either.

Xedretinz Lododnz Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 PokiTaurus' Reviews Loyalty - Ariana Grande: Good choice for this round. The first line reminded me of NTLTC. Wonder if this song had something to do with the writing for that song. Overall it flows extremely well and manages to portray the message of the song. As I was reading it considering the recent news, I think she could have this played / sing and dedicate this song to her fiance. Yes the more I think about it, the more it feels as a wedding song. I’m going to really feel this song while my copy of Spyro The Dragon: Reignited Trilogy is getting closer and closer to my nearby GameStop for me to pick him up. I guess you can say this feeling is un bear able. Queen Conchita - Little Mix: The “[without Jason Derulo]” in the title xD I don’t know why but it’s funny how it’s written. Rap features tend to have pretty meaningless lyrics so I believe it’s for the best to send a version without him. The lyrics work really well for the message it has. This reminds me of a Sims story I made where a guy was cheating on his girlfriend but his wife is a bartender so at the club one night they had to pretend to not know each other. The girlfriend of course didn’t know he was married so I rolled with it in the story and made her get mad at him for suddenly acting like they were strangers in that club. PinkBox - Celine Dion: I was ready to pull out Google Translate but then I saw the lyrics in the description are in English hehe. I really loved the part about not taking the nicest, or the biggest boat. It felt very deep to me and able to be inferred in a lot of ways. It reads like very personal lyrics, I think Celine did a greatly well job and if there really are any issues with her father, I hope she manages to make everything work well between them. The song has a beautiful message, made me think of the kid and the dad in the boat in the new God of War game. They had that scene in a trailer. Kylie Jenner - Lady Gaga: Yesssss. My favorite song from The Fame Monster. Very well made I don’t know why but I always relate this song to Ratchet & Clank in a case where Ratchet is speechless because of Clank. Partly because of the “could we fix you if we broke” part. Also the part where she says “oh friend you left me speechless” is SO impactful to me. The usage of the word “friend” in a song tends to be really strong to me, especially in You’ve Got A Friend in Me. Yes I relate this song a lot to the ending scene in Tools of Destruction where Clank leaves with the Zoni leaving Ratchet behind to cry. That was SO unexpected I cried myself. I was literally speechless. That song really fits that scene here is a video of it it’s towards the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnlcV-MXYX0 KatyCatPH - Katy Perry Ooh I know the song behind this message is very important for Katy. The video for this is so great but I am rating all songs strictly on the lyrics as the round requires. Personally I think her strongest lyrics were in One of the Boys but this song’s lyrics work perfectly to end the Teenage Dream era. I don’t think we will ever see an era as amazing as that one ever again. It works super well for having a deeper message but also being a catchy pop song. The fact it isn’t about love or a relationship makes this song stand out more since most pop songs don’t tend to be about topics besides love, so that also helps this song’s lyrics. I find it funny how the clothes the prince wears in the video are THE SAME clothes Eragon wears at an important event in the second book (or was it the first? I need to read it again) and I was reading it while this video came out back then lol. But then again black boots, red pants and a white top is a classic prince charming look. Ooh I wanna dress up like that this Halloween. Rooby.booby - Nelly Furtado: Nelly really knows how to pull an enchanting vibe to a song. This song’s lyrics just remind me so much of Spyro the Dragon in a good way, the whole theme of the lyrics. I also love how apparently this song was used for a commercial in Canada to promote people not wasting electricity in their houses? That is such an important issue that I wish more people cared about. Funny to see the commercial take the song so literally. I once actually sat down and came up with all sorts of concepts on what things is she singing about in certain parts. Always loved this song since I was little. It’s just so whimsy and I can’t get enough of it! Wish I could write a song like this for ATRL Platinum Hit. Fruity - Madonna: I like how the song had a write up for the song. It added a lot to understand the song better. The message of the lyrics really is ambiguous, I wonder what the specific childhood events that inspired this song were. The song seems to follow a strict structure throughout the song, sometimes it made it appear a bit simple at a glance. I find it interesting how she also sang about a man being her lesson in The Power of Goodbye. I always associated that song with committing suicide. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the lesson of this song in this round, but it adds more to the mystery of it. The song really does feel cold. Funny how it is a personal song for her, but it feels so distant. Like the cavern caves in Crash Twinsanity. They are so close to Crash’s home, but feel so far away. Overprotected - Mariah Carey: A good choice for this round. That moet/liberated rhyme is so brilliant. These words appear very different from each other but they flowed and rhymed so well as I was reading the lyrics. Butterfly in general has such a cozy feeling to me. I don’t know why but to this day I remember I was in this store when I was little with my mama, at some point I was looking at the perfume section and I could see a Mariah Carey perfume with the cover art of Butterfly on it. Really love that album cover. This song also feels very cozy to me. It felt a little shorter than I expected, but the rhyming of all the words is so well done. Lukey - Lea Michele: That first line reminding me of how impossible it is for me to find somebody that really likes me lol. Also wow at Lea promoting gun control in this song! The message is interesting about how hard it is to let go of people sometimes. The lyrics flow really well in this song as I was reading it. The repetition of the battlefield line seemed a little unnecessary to me though. But sadly US will probably do nothing about guns in the near future. This reminds me of a thread on old ATRL: “If pop girls were weapons” I was just like, what the heck?? It got closed immediately. EriKills - Natalia Kills I was reading along to the lyrics and was kinda digging it until the prison line song. At that moment I was thinking “wait, WHAT?” but not a big deal. It’s very poppy and I could sorta imagine in my head the scenes. I liked the line about lonely streets and big dreams, that was really good. It definitely feels more edgy than the other songs this round, a lot more daring? Not sure how to describe it but after all the previous songs being rather innocent this gave a very noticeable impression. I don’t know why but the song makes me think of pink and black diamond tiles. The lyrics has a very distinct theme to it. On one hand it was great for the song, but on the other hand bad because while it did stood out in my mind, it felt a little superficial as well when looking at the themes of the other songs. But I didn’t hate any song this round though. @Loyalty @Queen Conchita @PinkBox @Kylie Jenner @KatyCatPH @Fruity @Overprotected @Lukey @EriKills @rooby.booby
Xedretinz Lododnz Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 Xedretinz Lododnz's Reviews @Loyalty - Ariana Grande - My Everything > The lyrics are well written and really blends well with the sad and passive melody of the song. What a very captivating song! @Queen Conchita - Little Mix - Secret Love Song > Actually this is one of my few songs that I listen from them. The lyrics are meaningful and the melody of the song is on point. Powerful vocals with a strong meaning! Need I say more? @PinkBox - Celine Dion - Parler à Mon Père > I can't understand spanish so let's stick with the english translation lol. So imo, the lyrics are very sad and makes me wanna cry especially it's about a daughter-father relationship. I just hope the tone is a bit more sad so it can blend well with the lyrics but the lyrics alone is solid. @Kylie Jenner - Lady Gaga - Speechless > Tbh, I'm very impressed of your choices for these past rounds! This one works well too for this round. The lyrics are very meaningful, emotional, and works perfectly with the melody. I cannot say anything more, you've made me speechless! lol @KatyCatPH - Katy Perry - Wide Awake > Ok so first of all, I think this is one of katy's most well crafted song in terms of lyrics. The lyrics are deep and meaningful which is great. It also connects to listeners very well that is why I think this song has a great message. @rooby.booby - Nelly Furtado - Turn Off The Light > I must say the lyrics are well written. I just think that it doesn't match the vibe of the song that much so I didn't feel the connection very well. @Fruity - Madonna - Live To Tell > The lyrics alone is very captivating and bears a great message. The melody adds up some elements to the song which gives it more feeling and connects to the listeners. Great choice! @Overprotected - Mariah Carey - The Roof > Actually the lyrics are very well-written and it's easy to know that it is a love song. The smoothness of the song boost up the imagery of the lyrics as well so props for that. @Lukey - Lea Michele - Battlefield > Insipiring lyrics, good melody, strong vocals, they are all on point. I'm digging this entry. @EriKills - Natalia Kills - Saturday Night > I'm pretty sure this is Gaga...... they really sound alike with this song but it's not a bad thing at all! The lyrics are well written and the melody makes it even more interesting to listen to so cute pick!
