Than how did sam’s album do 729k last year and it’s 695k currently this year?

@istan4badgalriri HDD had Sam’s album at 730k...

the 695k has to be separate because this doesn’t make sense to me.

Now you’re looking at a January 1, 2017-December 31, 2017 list from HDD, not Billboard, and the list on Ukmix is also based on SoundScan numbers in 2017 only

Billboard year-end charts, however, have always started around 6-7 weeks before the end of the previous year (which is why Reputation didn’t make last year’s YEC, and will have all of its units counted towards this year’s YEC)

Her album came out in mid 2017 boo! It did 443k on last year's YEC and 344k on this year's so far, so nearly 800k total, and the RIAA counts video streams & shipments (which Soundscan/Billboard do not), that's why it's Platinum on RIAA's site

Only person who could possibly snatch Taylor at this point is Drake (who probably can and will since he's reaching new career heights atm). Or someone like Adele who releases unexpectedly before November.

Still impressive as hell that she is #1 with such a lead for her "underperformance" era. She's in a league of her own.
