Erreur2 La Nature Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 280k with a SB performance and by debuting a new album a day before is still tragic to be fair. Without it he would have done less than 50%

Without it he would have done less than 50% We can’t be so sure seeing that SB barely had an effect. Which makes sense given that he didn’t promote the album there, Filthy was barely a noticeable performance. So this is great in my humble opinion. Yes I expected more but given that his peers have fallen so far off it’s not bad. #1 Digital songs #1 album 2 Top 10 singles 300k debut in 2017/2018 ••••••••• Usher: 38k Britney: 111k JLO: 33k Alicia: 50k Eminem: 267k Christina: 73k Kelly: 79k ••••••••••• Divide: 451,000 Beautiful Trauma: 408,000 (160-200,000 without bundle) Starboy: 348,000 Revival: 267,000 4:44: 262,000 The Thrill of It All: 237,000 24K Magic: 231,000 Harry Styles: 230,000 Witness: 180,000 (less than 100,000 without bundle) Edited February 7, 2018 by TattooedDreams

Artists never promote their new album at the Superbowl, they perform their current new single and that + the show itself is enough promotion for the album and the song. He got a lot of attention and sales because he was the one performing this year, that's why people heard of his album and bought/streamed. His numbers would not have been good if he had not been chosen to do it.

Only singles/classic hits received a huge push on iTunes. One of the biggest actually. The album wouldve done just the same.
