How do you have time to watch BBC Two programming when there's Charli XCX and Zara Larsson albums to be listening to xx

I have no hype for Charli tbh, I was just using Lipgloss. Also no Permission no Diarrhoea for Zara

Jay Som and Laura Marling really saved this week! :heart2:

Internet Friends - This was SCARY!

SLS - Beautiful

Chinese Food - I love chinese food too and i must give china a (score withheld).

Move - I think Move kinda requires really fierce powerful vocals particularly in the chorus and I'm not sure it fit you but an exciting choice.

  1. Good choice! The EP was limiting but this was the one you should have gone for. I get you aren't the best singer, but it really suited you and it was a fun listen.
  2. What on Earth is this :ahh: I love it. I guess you could have chosen a better song though. Comedy doesn't have to equal a crappy one, vocally.

Jack Reid (Jackson)

  1. You had great choices like Weird People and Love Me Like You, and you went for this? Really? Also your vocals weren't your best in the verses, nice chorus though.
  2. You actually took a risk :smitten: a dumb choice but what should I expect this week

Janey (Janey)

  1. You didn't make it morbidly slow! I'm so proud of you  I would have killed someone, this is such a fun song and needs to be done fast. You killed it! I guess you had the good grace of having their best album, but choosing their best song is a good thing and you worked it.
  2. Would I call this comedy? Not really? A new look for you definitely, a bit of a mess but endearing.

  1. I'm so sorry that you got this album :skull: I kinda hoped you'd do How Ya Doin'? just bc it's been my voicemail for years, but oh well. This song lent itself nicely to the slowing down, and it's great that you finally toned it down with the vocal affects, a really strong entry.
  2. Too short for this song? I have similar feeling as with your past song, I'm not as sold on the choice but it's great anyway. A very strong week for you.

Tymps (Tymps.)

  1. An... inspired choice, I guess? Your lower register was a bit tuneless in the verses. I like the phrasing, I wasn't a big fan of when you tried to go falsetto though. A decent entry, not amazing.
  2. I think the comedy was supposed to be in the song not in your version of it x wait omg why are you doing this in the style of a Sesame Street character :deadbanana: I was always a Tikabilla child so maybe I can't relate, but cute nonetheless. I guess it just isn't right for this kind of competition.

number 1 angel is the best album of the year and it's not even a real album, it was a mixtape that was recorded as a cure for xcx's depression

E.T. - this was showstopping. you having a break from the competition made me miss your voice and it was simply stunning to listen to. you are very versatile, it seems

Internet Friends - it wasn’t really funny but it was sure as hell entertaining. it also resonated with me on a personal level my dear

jack reid

Secret Love Song Pt II - I liked the fact that it sounded a bit like you were crying throughout the whole entry. it made me very emotional which was lovely. your pitch was so on point throughout

Chinese Food - whew I love this song it’s such a bop apart from the fact that it reminds me of Kim Chi. you should have camped it up a bit though for this song. believe what you’re singing!

jane. e

Move - This was so much fun! I really liked your ad libs that you added. For some reason I feel like you can step your game up even further though, I feel like there’s more that you can show us in terms of voice versatility, especially after you shocked us with your Video Girl entry

Super Bass - In my head I’m cackling at this. it reminded me of Cher Lloyd for some reason. very entertaining overall

jack. e

DNA - THIS BITCH CAME TO PLAY. HE CAME TO PLAY. THIS BITCH CAME TO PLAY. HE CAME TO SLAY. I CANNOT FAULT IT. FLAWLESS FLAWLESS FLAWLESS AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. LITTLE MIX’S BEST SONG + YOUR VOICE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

I’m Not - I don’t listen to/keep up with Mariah so I really don’t get it why it’s funny but you sang it really well

tymps

Power - Idk it’s to do with your location/range(I Don’t think it’s this) as to why you didn’t belt the pre-chorus but the song is literally called Power and I would have liked that to be applied to the song especially considering that the pre-chorus is IT. overall it was solid but I expected more from you and I know it could have been better. And I wish you had done the “motorbike, motorbike…” bits, I love those!

The Way - this was such an adorable idea, it was very endearing to listen to. It feels a bit like you’re my kid and you’re putting on a show for me at home :weeps: much love

Thanks judges! It's pretty obvious I'm in the bottom so let me just do my pleading now as I know you like to vote right away. First of all I've submitted on time and been involved in every round of the live shows, and not everybody has that. Also I had to record both of my entries in the span of like an hour, and Little Mix is not my vocal style at all, along with getting their "worst album" apparently.

Lastly I recorded a couple original songs today so if you want to see what I can do when I'm not singing Little Mix :)

I disagree with Diarrhoea's comment on my comedy song because of this:

Song B

This one is pretty vague so you'll have to interpret it however you want, but for your second song you must submit a comedy entry. Your job is to make us laugh. And that's the only guideline, the rest is up to you. How are you going to make it funny?

It's pretty clear that, for example, doing a funny voice is not "wrong" for the round.

Overall though based on the judging it's kind of clear I hear music differently from the judges and look for different things.

Yeah but I feel like other people also did the whole 'make us laugh' thing whilst still choosing a song that works well in the context of a singing competition

For what it's worth you got a good score anyway :cm:

I find it difficult to care about anything at all cause I'm too cynical! Why worry when we're all going to die anyway? :cm:
