A win for me will be not entering the Bottom 2, because that's where I placed in the first ball of my season!

Well I loved Pixel's Bloody Mary look

The text is unreadable though

Well first for your tarot ball, I don't get having two looks. I think I remember reading that CitRu only wanted one look and not an entire ball. The shoes for judgment look like vans and I keep thinking about Chi Chi when I look at them :chick3:. The Death look was more superior, the shoes and dress  are everything but the bones in the hair as well were an overkill and the wig/ makeup looked really rough (like after a one night stand rough and not intentional). Could have slayed as a reveal look to have judgment comeout and change to death as you walk down.

Then for envy, the concept is great (I don't get it but most deadly sins can't really be translated so easily but yay green with envy )but it's really disturbing to have no arms and feet ki. Another place where a reveal could have killed it (I know y'all drag reveals in this game but the drama always helps especially when it fits).

We need to talk about shoes

Posted (edited)

Basic ass shoes, recycled shoes, no shoes at all (when they would be visible in the outfit)

I understand your points. My excuse with shoes is that I can't draw them so I avoid them at all costs. :skull: For Death, the makeup and hair IS supposed to look really rough. Death isn't pretty, which I really wanted to contrast against the much cleaner judgement look, which is why I did two looks in the first place (mostly).

For the envy look, there are definitely hands :skull: again I can't draw them, I actually drew them in the original pic and sent to JudgesChild but they looked awful so I cut them out. I thought it would look odd to have this all encompassing dress... except the feet. I guess I could have done a reveal but that would have meant another look which I do not have the time for. :chick3:

I hope this doesn't come across as super defensive. I'm just justifying what I did with the looks and hopefully some context!

:heart2: nothing wrong with defending your work.

something I told rhisiart last season that she completely ignored ki was to not be afraid to use other pictures for elements of your looks you can't draw well. helps to communicate your idea and you seem to have photoshop or editing skills so it will be really cool (and save time ki) to mix in shoes or other accessories you can't easily draw

I liked everyone's lewks. I enjoy seeing everyone's different styles and thinking process when approaching a theme. I really gagged over my sisters Carbön and Colleen, and I also really enjoyed Chanel and Pixel. :heart2:

Ack I told myself I would do that if I competed again but I feel strangely prideful of my drawings and seeing using pictures as a sort of compromise, even though it probably affects me negatively. :chick3: I may do it if in the future if I get another chance and there's a big pushback this week from the judges from it.

I don't want to make excuses but all I can say is I hope some creative liability is afforded to the drawing queens since I imagine most, if not all of us, do not draw outside of the competition. I think specifically some comments in the last FPR were not based on the actual look was but how it was drawn, which kinda stings since it's not something I can do much about. :chick3: I'm not saying I'm gonna draw a flat pump and expect the judges to be able to tell its actually a 9" hooker heel, but I don't want to get into a situation where I've tried to do something like windswept hair and for them to clock me saying "it doesn't look windswept enough" even though there's clear intention. Does that make any sense?

Sorry to rant. I just don't want to fail/not excel in the runway segments because I can't draw that well and don't have that much to compensate with!

felt like I was dragging miss Carbon so I'll just touch on the main points. No shoes for your dress + the  branches were so random when I tried to envision the dress :chick3: another quick point is that for a dress like yours it's a good idea to exaggerate the train and other interesting elements kinda like this X (I think it has a train? ki)  to make the look more "dynamic". your 2nd look was definitely the superior one. very on brand with Gladys and really interesting. Only dragging is that it's a bit cosplay still :dancehall:

only thing I really have to say for you is  red boots :sadviolin: and learn some editing :thing: (the looks can come across as boring if someone doesn't take the time to put the pieces together in their head)

That's the thing. I'm sure the judges try to understand the looks completely but the way it's presented affects how they see it and the creatively challenged ehem probably struggle to imagine how the outfit would look in person. I guess stick to your guns since yours are great ki but using your words more can help then. The drawing queens are my no. 1 faves since I draw as well so I always want y'all to slay

honestly the monochromatic idea is a slay but I think you've already done body paint before and black paint gurl :thing: serving Lola. the sphinx look had one negative for me and that was the shoes. I don't get it for that dress.

@Vulnicura I don't really draw outside of the competition either. :chick3: I used to draw a lot when I was a little, and I think I want to continue after this but just recreationally. I feel the same pride about my drawings too, I try not to take the judgings personally but it's kind of hard nnn.

Nnnnn I felt like drawing shoes when they wouldn't be seen would be a waste, especially if they weren't good ones. And mess, the branches are like the centerpiece of the whole thing, I'm supposed to look like a tree. I feel like without the branches, the look would be so boring. I would love to draw multiple angles and shots and all of this stuff but I just don't have the time to fully do everything. I can barely make my looks look as nice as they do now without stressing myself out. :deadbanana:

It's so interesting that you like my Sally look the most when most of the girls I shared my looks with thing my Pink dress is so much better. I'm sad it still reads as cosplay, that was the one thing I wanted to avoid and tried to really make Sally's look into my own. :chick3:

I very much appreciate the comments though, it's very nice and helpful to hear your opinions and critiques. All I can really do is work hard to make you like the next one.
